2 – Saving the Village Demon (2)
In the original world, on the tenth day after the original host and Lu Li eloped, Sangyu Village and Fusu Village engaged in a fierce battle. The brutal conflict lasted three full days, leaving Fusu Village severely devastated. The original host and Lu Li were captured by the people of Sangyu Village, subjected to endless humiliation, and eventually agreed to hang themselves together.
But the original host truly died by hanging, while Lu Li lost his nerve the moment he kicked the stool, breaking their vow to die together. Later, he spread rumors everywhere, claiming the original host had seduced him into eloping. With the original host dead and unable to defend herself, she was posthumously branded with a bad reputation as a licentious woman, while Lu Li went on to marry Qin Xing.
After absorbing these memories, Zhao Ge’s mouth twitched fiercely.
She had just transmigrated to the very night the original host eloped with her childhood sweetheart.
In the original world, it was on this night that she gave her virginity to this man—a key trigger that ignited the vicious war between the two villages.
She now lay in an abandoned nunnery not far from Fusu Village. In her frantic escape, she had stumbled and fallen, hitting her head on a large rock, causing it to bleed profusely.
She raised a hand to touch it—the wound had been wrapped with a ragged cloth by Lu Li, and the bleeding had stopped.
“Yue Yue, you’re finally awake. I was so worried,” Lu Li said gently upon seeing her open her eyes.
The original host in this world was named Qin Yue. Under normal circumstances, hearing such words would have moved her to tears, but now, knowing how this man would tarnish her reputation after her death, a cold sneer escaped her lips.
As Lu Li leaned in to kiss her, Qin Yue pushed him away. Seeing her cold expression, Lu Li was momentarily stunned.
In Zhao Ge’s memories, in the original world, Qin Yue had woken from her faint and immediately been intimate with Lu Li. The two had spent the night in a fiery passion, as if trying to merge into one another. Later, Qin Yue was so exhausted she couldn’t even walk and had to be carried away by Lu Li.
But now, Qin Yue had no intention of repeating that. The sight of this man’s face filled her with disgust.
“Yue Yue, what’s wrong?” Lu Li propped himself up slightly, his lips brushing her ear.
“Lu Li, will you be good to me for the rest of my life?” Qin Yue asked coldly.
“Silly girl, who else would I be good to if not you? From now on, you’re mine, and I’ll never change my heart,” Lu Li coaxed her softly, assuming she was worried he wouldn’t take responsibility after she gave him her virginity—after all, this was a world that placed great importance on a woman’s chastity.
“And if I die?”
“Even if you die, I won’t live alone. We’ll be a pair of lovebirds in the afterlife,” Lu Li said, a flicker of impatience in his eyes as he placed his hand on Qin Yue’s smooth arm.
Qin Yue recoiled as if electrocuted, rolling off the kang and standing up.
“Lu Li, I want to go home.”
Meeting Qin Yue’s icy gaze, Lu Li felt as if the woman before him had become a different person. After a brief pause, he said, “We barely managed to escape. Aren’t you afraid your father will force you to marry that idiot if we go back? I heard he’s hideously ugly—you’d be scared to death by him.”
Qin Yue thought to herself, Even marrying that idiot would be better than marrying a scoundrel like you.
She was stalling for time. In her memories, her father would soon arrive with a search party. However, in the original world, she had followed Lu Li’s advice and hidden in a secret compartment of the kang, causing her father to miss them and leading to the tragic outcome.Sure enough, before long, the sound of chaotic footsteps and shouts could be heard in the distance as a group of people holding torches approached.
