A black page filled the screen with the simple words ‘Gen 3 Debut Starting Soon’ scrawled across it in white. Although she was retired, she still managed to pull over 300,000 viewers, and that was reflected in the rapidly moving chat.

More and more viewers joined in at a rapid rate. Some were just joining to be part of the spectacle, others were looking for their next oshi to follow for the rest of their days—at least, until someone else caught their eye. Others still who’d been following along with the recruiting of gen three couldn’t hold back their excitement as they wondered who’d gotten in.
BlueLight had been super hush hush about who was going to be part of their third generation of VTubers. Even those that went in to audition had been sworn to secrecy with NDA’s over who actually was getting hired. Naturally, some still tried to spill the beans, but their posts were lost in the countless other speculations that claimed they knew exactly who it was.
More and more viewers arrived with each passing second. The stream passed 320,000, then 350,000 with no sign of slowing down. BlueLight’s third generation had the added bonus of standing on the shoulders of two previous generations of VTubers. Those dedicated seniors all made posts to support the younger generation, drawing even more and more eyes to the debut stream.
The stream hit 400,00 as a timer appeared on the top of the stream. It rapidly spiked up further to 500,000, approaching the record holder for the most views on a debut stream. It was maybe different on other worlds, but this one had an exceptional craze for all things streaming. That reflected in the spiking viewer count.
The timer struck zero, and the black background slowly faded into an elegant throne room. The camera zoomed in a black crown speckled with red gemstones that rested on the empty throne. Fire crackled all around, creating an almost otherworldly vibe.
Five shadows stretched across the screen toward the throne. A distant heartbeat started to pound, creating a percussive beat. For several seconds, the viewers were left in that heavy, stifling environment. It created a sense of dread mixed with anticipation.
“When the old Demon King fell, the Underworld was left without a ruler.” A narrator spoke up with a heavy and solemn voice. Most people easily recognized it as BlueLight. The five shadows stretched toward the crown. “Now five have answered the call.”
The screen went black, and the sound of claws scraping stone screeched at the viewers ears. A silver flask was thrown up into the air, making the camera follow it to reveal a star-lit sky above. The flask dropped into an elegant hand marked with deadly black claws. An almost ethereal voice echoed out. “Demon king, huh?”

The camera zoomed out, revealing a dark wolfgirl. She wiped her face with the back of her other hand, and stared at the camera with amber eyes. Her expression was relaxed, almost seeming bored. There was something wild in those eyes of hers that made viewers shiver.
The wolfgirl lunged forward with a clawed hand outstretched. Her claws hand seized the camera by the throat, and the world lurched as it was plucked off the ground.
Time froze, and the art style changed to bright neon accents and deep darks. A title tag dropped across the screen. ‘Fenrir - The Demon Wolf’.
Time resumed a beat later, and the style returned to normal like nothing happened. As if she’d seen all she needed to, Fenrir threw the camera on the ground. The perspective bounced around a few times before settling in an angle that was looking up at the untamed wolf.
“Well, this oughta be fun.” She took a sip of her flask—only for nothing to come out. She turned it upside down with a small frown on her face. Her foot stomped down on the camera, making it go black. For a few seconds, the viewers were left in an empty black void. “Who’s buying the first round?”

A spark of blue fire appeared in the darkness. The blue foxfire split, becoming nine across the screen. Slowly, the fire trailed back down to reveal tails as they passed. Each fluffy tail appeared alongside a musical note until the entire scene filled out.
An otherworldly nine-tailed fox stood under a torii gate with her back turned to the viewer. All nine of her pastel-pink tails flicked around in idle amusement as if she was seeing something that no one else could. The blue fire roved across the elegant dress and white robes framing her jaw-dropping form. It slid down across her bare shoulders and gathered in her hand, forming a fox mask.
“A new Demon King you say?” A velvety smooth voice spoke as the music hit its peak. Several viewers instantly felt their ears flush a deep red as it dropped into a seductive timber. “It sounds my kind of fun.”

The fox turned back to face the camera, though her face was obscured by the mask at the same time. The bottom half of her face was left exposed, showing off her elegant jawline and playful smile. Time froze, and a new title card appeared. ‘Sakura - The Demon Fox’.
She snapped open a fan as her tails curled around behind her. Two of the fluffy pink limbs curled into a heart around the moon hanging in the sky behind her. The camera flinched as if startled, and zoomed in on the tails framing the moon. A flash of neon pink framed the heart. “I do so love~ a challenge.”

The moon filled the entire frame for a beat. The camera dropped back down onto a silver-gilded throne basking in the moonlight. The music suddenly became a lot gentler, and a cute girl waved at the camera. It would’ve been picturesque if not for the blood on her cheek.
The scene suddenly shifted colors as the moon floating behind her revealed its true form as a massive eye. It stared eerily right at the camera almost in a silent threat not to look away for even a moment.
“Hi! I’m Bella!” The girl waved at the camera. A title card slid across the screen. ‘Bella - The Demon Princess’.

Had Seren been watching the debut instead of playing with herself, she would’ve seen that Bella was the first of the VTubers to have an avatar different then her normal self. The demon princess had long silver hair accented with streaks of purple. Two horns curled around her head almost like a regal crown.
”Let’s all be good friends, please!” Bella clasped her hands together in a praying motion, and bowed her head slightly. The demon eye floating behind her narrowed as if to say ‘you better be friends or else!’
The scene went black once more, and the gentle music faded into a hyped up battle beat. A blade made out of fire arched across the screen like the sun itself had been transformed into a sword.
“The underworld shall bask under my light!” A male voice called out into the void. It left a trail of fire where it passed.

The flaming blade reached halfway across the screen—
Clang!
A silver blade, as if made from the moon, rushed up to meet the flaming one. A heavy impact frame hit, and time seemed to freeze. A regal woman’s voice called as if to answer, “and when the light fades, you’ll find me waiting.”
“Must you ruin every entrance, sister?” The flaming blade raised high, illuminating half the screen in fiery light. A handsome elf with golden locks of hair wreathed in fire appeared. His long ears stretched out through his hair. He wore radiant clothes like the sun itself made flesh. ‘Sol - The Demon Sun’.
“Must you always make an entrance, brother?” The silver blade dropped down to contrast his raised one, and the other half of the screen was illuminated in soft moonlight. A beautiful elf maiden appeared on the other side of the screen. Even at a glance, the two resembled each other sharply. ‘Luna - The Demon Moon’.

Their blades clashed once more, creating a brilliant eclipse that drowned out the entire world. The camera cut into a throne room with all five of generation three’s VTubers standing around a throne room. Magical auras emitting off of them seemed to clash in the air as the music reached its climax.
Sakura, leaning against a pillar as she inspected her nail, asked in a soft voice. “So… who’s taking the throne?”
”The one most qualified.” Sol answered immediately. By the expression on his face, it was clear to the viewers who he thought that was.
”Perfect!” Luna clapped her hands together with a smile teasing at her eyes. “That rules you out.”
”I think I’ll take it.” Fenrir downed a flask of something and wiped at her face. “Looks like a good drinking spot.”
”Wait, we’re supposed to be ruling something?!” Bella shouted.
The scene rapidly cut back to that first throne room, and zoomed in on the crown once more. This time, all five shadows were distinct enough to tell who was who. The music hit its final note as everything but the crown vanished. “Bow before your new ruler.”

An info card popped up with the dates and times of all four debut streams for generation three. The twins, Sol and Luna, shared a single spot. A sharp-eyed viewer in the crowd noticed despite Sakura having the first time slot in two days, her stream didn’t have an end timer.
Faintly, as if a throwaway remark that somehow made it into the trailer, Fenrir spoke up, ”seriously, though. Who’s buying?”
After a few minutes, the stream rerolled the debut animation a few more times for those that missed the first run through. As word spread about the absolutely insane animation quality, more and more viewers flocked to the stream to set an all time high for a debut stream high at 1.7 million viewers.
Even after the stream ended, word spread across the internet as BlueLight Productions and all their VTubers hyped up the new generation. One thing was for sure—the first streams were set up like a powder keg to have an explosive debut.
