My games went well. He put me against bots, and that was hardly challenging outside of my teammates somehow being worse than bots. It was fine, though. I wound up finishing the match with a 30/1/12 stat line. That one death was a stupid one, too. I died to a jungle creep… yeah, not my proudest moment.
Those of us who passed the initial audition were pulled elsewhere where we were left to our own devices. There were eight others aside from me. That number jumped to nine just before BlueLight Production provided us with lunch. I was already starving, so I would’ve eaten anything put in front of me.
Right after lunch, the three people in charge of giving us auditions returned. Vanessa stood at the front of the trio. “Congratulations for passing the initial auditions. After heavy deliberation, we’ll move onto the second to last test and your final interview with the CEO.”
One of the girls shouted in excitement, “y-you mean we actually get to meet BlueLight? In the flesh?”
”Yeah! She’ll have the final say on the matter, so do your best!” Valerie flashed a thumbs up as her tail cutely swayed back and forth.
Daniel crossed his arms and leaned against the back wall behind the two women. “Before then, you’re going live for a vote. BlueLight has quite a few fans, and we’re giving them input on who the next generation of VTubers will be. You’ll each get some time to show off your capabilities over a four hour stream, and our fans will vote afterwards for who they think is the best.”
“You mean it’ll be a fully live audience?” I asked. The others around the room looked worried about it, and I couldn’t exactly blame them. I mean, I’d gone live before, but that hardly counted. Four hours left us, what, twenty minutes each?
”Got it in one.” Daniel nodded to me. “We’ll start with Bella B.”
The girl that shouted stood up on shaky legs. After a moment, she took a deep breath and tried to put her persona of a cutesy girl once more. “O-okay.”
”Do you need a moment? It’s okay if we go on to someone else first.” Valerie’s tail twitched, and a small frown twisted her expression.
”N-no! It’s now or never!” The girl once more tried to hype herself up.
“Good. Now then, the rest of you can sit back and relax. Oh, and for the sake of saving time, we’ll begin the CEO’s interviews.” Vanessa flicked a page on her clipboard while the other two took Bella to get set up. “We’ll start with Kathy.”
”Wish me luck, friends!” Another girl stood up and followed the talent director out the door.
The rest of us were left to our own devices—at least, until a TV on the far side of the room turned on with BlueLight’s stream. A ‘stream starting soon’ banner popped up. Even with that, though, the chat box on the side of the screen was already flying with messages.
Soon, Bella popped up on the stream. Or, at least, a hastily sketched out VTube model of Bella. It looked pretty similar to her, though noticeably had added wings and a tail. They must’ve had their artists slaving away somewhere to crank out a model so quick, even if it was a rough one. Did I have one too? Probably, right?
”H-hello, viewers! I’m Dormi, y-your new favorite Demon Lord!” The panic in her voice steadily faded. “If you like singing and dancing… I’ve got some bad news for you, to be honest. Instead, how about we have a fun time playing a horror game!”
I sat back and watched how she worked the audience, taking mental tips of things I should look out for when it was my turn to go up. Honestly, she was pretty good at it. Once the nerves faded, she filled with confidence.
She was so invested in the audience that her actual gaming skills wound up being severely lacking, but that was fine. She was playing a single player horror game. When it was my turn to go up, it’d be expected of me to actually play well given that I wanted to turn VTubing into a chance to go professional and win a world championship.
The rest of the stream played out about as well as I would expect. The thing with horror games was that they needed time to steep, and there was only so much she could do with a short streaming segment. Mmm… I’d need to try and end a DeadLeague match in twenty minutes. The fastest I’d ever seen was a twenty three minute match, which meant I’d have to pull out all the stops.
Before too long, Kathy and Vanessa returned. Kathy, her face slightly pale, moved over to a chair and unceremoniously collapsed into it. Vanessa didn’t seem to care or notice. “Next up, Seren?”
I popped up to my feet and headed over to her. One of my fluffy pink tails whipped out behind me to push my seat back into place. “I’m ready.”
Vanessa just sighed, and led me up an elevator. For some reason, I got the feeling she didn’t like me very much. I watched her carefully for a few moments before shaking my head. Right, I may be a Realmwalker, but all of these people were very much real. It’d be crazy to expect every single person in the world to adore me like I was some kind of protagonist. The elevator dinged, and we stepped out into a long hallway. Doors were lined with important looking nameplates and department labels. My footsteps echoed on the polished floor all the way to a corner office. “Whenever you’re ready.”
I hesitated for a moment before knocking on the door. On the other side, an almost bored voice called out, “come in!”
This was it… I took a deep breath, and slipped through the door. My eyes immensely snapped to a woman diligently clacking away on a computer. She was breathtaking. There was no other way of putting it.
The CEO, Willow based on her nameplate, had shoulder length silver hair with half her head shaved. Electric blues and purples mixed into it, making her look iridescent. Her eyes, violet with a twist of dark blue, trailed over me just as I was watching her.
A horn stuck out of her forehead. It wasn’t super long, but it definitely drew the eye. It glowed with an internal light. It was a classic, spiraling unicorn horn. Pared with the horse ears sticking off her head, and it wasn’t hard to guess at what she was.
“Seren, right?” She had on a leather jacket over a tank top. Silver chains hanging from her ripped jeans jingled slightly as she shifted in her seat. “Take a seat.”
“Mommy? Sorry.” I flinched, and quickly sat down across from her as she broke into light laughter. That wasn’t a good start.
“Quite forward, aren’t we?” She pulled away from her monitor. “I’m Willow, also known as BlueLight and the CEO of the company.”
”Seren Vale. I… hope I’ll one day be working with you?” I bowed my head slightly as my tails lashed around me.
“Nice to meet you.” Willow picked up a sheet of paper, and quickly scanned through it. “You want to debut as Sakura?”
“Sakura, the nine-tailed fox.” My tails swished around me like a halo of pink fur. “It has a nice ring to it.”
“So it does.” She smirked around the paper as her sparkling eyes met mine. “And I see I’m not the only one horny.”
”Something tells me it's in a different way.” I shifted in my seat as my thighs rubbed together. Two of my tails dropped into my lap.
“Who knows?” She set the piece of paper back down and watched me curiously with her violet eyes. “Most of the time, new hires act all nervous in front of me.”
”Mmm. I can see why.” One of my tails curled up in front of my face to hide the blush steadily rising to my face. “Is it hot in here, or is it just me?”
“The AC must be broken,” she replied. Instead of shooting down my advances, she seemed to return the interest. It only emboldened me. “You ever stream before this?”
“I’m already throbbing—“ I cut myself off with a sharp laugh as my eyes trailed across her shiny unicorn horn. “I mean, I already have a Throb account.”
“Me too, little fox. Me too.” She grinned, and leaned forward over her desk. ”Usually, we set up the account… I’ll talk to Daniel about it.”
“I could… take care of that for you?” I offered. One of my tails ran along my stomach, and slid alongside the hem of my shirt. “Us girls gotta stick together.”
Willow’s sparkling eyes darted down to my navel to follow the movement of my tail. She shifted in her seat. “So you can get a leg up in the competition?”
“You made me forget there even was a competition.” My tails swayed around me softly. Two of them wrapped my arms as if to hold me back, but were really just to hide the shiver went down my spine as her voice turned husky.
”Quite the charmer, I see.” Willow didn’t look off put by my forwardness in the slightest. Honestly, I was a bit worried she would with how Vanessa acted. “Unfortunately, I don’t want to stretch that cute little jaw of yours and ruin your throat before you go on stream.” New chapters come out on novelping . com first.
“But what if I want you to ruin me?” I licked my lips. My throat, huh? Then did that mean she had a cock? I felt a new wave of heat pool in my belly as my thighs ground together even harder.
She smirked, though pulled away. “If you win, maybe we’ll see about that? I wouldn’t want anyone claiming foul play. If not… well, we’ll see.”
“I hope that’s a promise.” I definitely, definitely have to win. Screwing around my future boss… honestly, it probably wasn’t the smartest idea in the world. I, uh, I needed to get more people to orgasm, though! Yep, I was just doing it for the objectives and not because every wayward person I’d seen so far had me all bothered.
Did Selene put my body in permanent heat or something? My cold hand dropped to my flushed stomach as if to draw some of the heat away. Or had I always been such a, well, horn dog? No, that wasn’t quite right, was it? According to Selene, I opted to be stuck on an island doing nothing for ten years. Was this a new development then?
“So, why do you want to become a VTuber?” Despite the heated talk, she easily pivoted back into professionalism. It was incredibly impressive. It also showed just how much she cared about her company. “With a face like that, you could be a top streamer any day of the week given enough time.”
“I like the mystique of it.” I rubbed at the back of my neck. Really, it was for money and to help catapult my career, but I didn’t feel like pointing that out. “VTubers also get to interact with their audience in a way most streamers can’t.”
”I think I get what you mean. Especially considering your proposed character.” Willow nodded along with me. “You plan on turning into a full time streamer afterwards?”
”Something like that… I’d really like to play in a world championship, but I’m not quite sure about that.” I’d need to join a team… or maybe make one? Could God Gamer apply to teaching my teammates too? It might be fun to raise a bunch of turnips into future world champs.
“Large ambitions.” Willow tapped on her desk. She shifted, and the movement drew my eye to the curve of her biceps and how the leather jacket curled around her muscles. Mommy indeed. “I like bold people. Bold doesn’t always translate to entertainment value, though.”
”I’m well aware.” Watching some other people play DeadLeague made that readily apparent. It was crazy how good some people were at playing games, and yet how bad they were at holding an audience. “What do you want, though?”
”What do I want?” Willow seemed a little surprised I asked her that. She looked away from me, and scratched at her face. “That’s a good question. You know, gen three’s theme was supposed to be monsters and mayhem.”
Right, that made sense. Not everyone, but most of the people seemed to have monstrous characters. It just so happened that the heart stealing fox fit that theme pretty well. “And?”
”And so the three we already have are all good, but… we need some more mayhem. There also isn’t a clear leader in gen three yet.” She shrugged, and her eyes snapped back to me. “I was planning on developing one, but a good leader goes a long way.”
“I’m not quite sure if I fit leadership, to be honest.” I’d never led anyone before. Well, aside from leading someone on. I’ve done that quite a few times since I got here. There was something so incredibly hot about leaving people flustered with just a wink and lick of my lips. “I could definitely pull off mayhem, though.”
”I like the honesty.” Willow reached up and scratched at her horn idly. “Being a VTuber with an agency is more than just being a streamer, though. You know that, right? We’re putting the five of you together to be a team. You’re expected to share an audience, work together, and help each other out.”
”I can be a team player and do other things.” I think. Honestly, I wasn't too confident in any of my skills outside of leveraging my body and gaming. I didn’t have any memories, which naturally meant I was quite unskilled. I could fix that with some time and dedication, though.
“Good… we’re taking the new gen out to dinner tonight on the company.” Willow picked up another sheet of paper, and turned back to her computer like our conversation was over. “Let you guys get to know each other before your official release and all that.”
My ears perked up. ”Does that mean I’m in?”
”We’ll have to see what the fans think of you, little fox.” She smiled at me. “I certainly hope so, though. I’ve never been with another mythic before. We’re a rare breed.”
Mythic? Was that some kind of racial classification? She was a unicorn and I was a nine-tailed fox, so it kinda made sense. “Neither have I.”
”I hope that changes.” She waved a hand, and her violet eyes met mine. She radiated equal parts satisfaction and amusement that she was leaving me flustered and wanting. “Alright, go prove yourself in front of the audience, Seren. I’ll be watching.”
”I wouldn’t have it any other way.” A shiver went through my tails. I wanted her to watch me do more than just stream… there’d be time for that in the future, though. I needed to dominate the short time frame I had, and make a mark on BlueLight’s fans.
I turned to leave with my tails swishing behind me. The first few steps were unsteadily. My heart raced just as my heart did. Honestly, it’d been a while since I was so bothered. That woman had almost completely undone me. I took a shaky breath, and forced my tails to go still. One way or another, this was going to be interesting.
