Ye Jin pulled two machetes from her bag and handed them to Zhang Yiyi and Xia Li.

Zhang Yiyi felt Ye Jin’s bag was truly magical—it seemed to have everything.

Of course, Ye Jin had actually retrieved them from her Dimension, using the bag merely as a cover. The Miao blade was too long, so she could only take machetes of similar length to the bag.

She couldn’t reveal her Dimension now, especially with Yu Ruanruan, who possessed a System, following closely behind.

Ye Jin took Zhang Yiyi with her and taught her how to quickly kill Zombies: “Zombies feel no pain. You must decapitate them and destroy their heads.”

At first, Zhang Yiyi felt somewhat uncomfortable, as if she were killing people, but after taking down a few more, she adapted much better. Although the Zombies’ heads were a bit hard, she felt her strength had greatly increased after awakening her Special Ability.

So many people lacked Special Abilities, and Zhang Yiyi considered herself truly blessed by heaven.

Nearby, Xia Li, who was fighting Zombies alone, started with slightly trembling hands but soon adapted as well.

Only Yu Ruanruan, trailing behind, took advantage of the situation without contributing. She didn’t dare to kill Zombies and now clung tightly to Ye Jin.

They soon reached the school gate, which was densely crowded with Zombies. Inside, a group of people was engaged in a fierce battle with them.

“Ahhh!” a female voice screamed from the group. “Get away, don’t touch me!”

Her cries attracted more Zombies, drawn by the sound, and they swarmed toward the gate, blocking the entrance entirely.

Xia Li began, “We…”

“I’ll clear the path. You all take care of yourselves later—don’t get scratched. Once we break through, scatter and run!”

Xia Li had been about to say he knew of another exit, but Ye Jin cut him off, giving him a meaningful look.

Understanding Ye Jin’s signal immediately, Xia Li realized she didn’t like her younger sister following them. No wonder he had felt earlier that Ye Jin was deliberately leading Zombies toward Yu Ruanruan. Thinking this, he quickly took two steps back, putting distance between himself and Yu Ruanruan.

Amidst chaos, one can easily take advantage—but could Ye Jin’s favors be so easily gained?

Earlier, there were too few Zombies, and Yu Ruanruan had been sticking too close, leaving no opportunity.

But looking at the horde at the gate—what a perfect chance to test what her System was truly capable of!

Ye Jin charged forward directly, slicing through Zombie heads with her blade and carving out a path.

The surrounded people rejoiced—they were saved!

“Ye Jin?”

Hearing her name called, Ye Jin realized it was quite a coincidence—there were actually acquaintances here.

It was Yuan Mo, along with Yu Leyang’s biological sister, Yu Lejia.

Yu Lejia was thrilled to see how powerful Ye Jin was, but her face fell immediately upon spotting Yu Ruanruan clinging to her—that troublemaker was here too!

Ignoring her, Ye Jin quietly leaned close to Zhang Yiyi and whispered, “Take Xia Li to the house I used to live in near the school and wait for me there!”

She helped Zhang Yiyi carve an opening through the Zombie horde, allowing her and Xia Li to escape first.

The Zombies grew increasingly numerous. On Yu Lejia’s side, someone was injured—the girl who had screamed earlier in terror. The scent of blood drove the surrounding Zombies into a frenzy.

Deliberately, Ye Jin charged into areas thick with Zombies, cutting them down before swiftly moving away, leaving Yu Ruanruan stranded in the midst of the undead. Not satisfied, she stealthily kicked a Zombie, sending it stumbling onto Yu Ruanruan.

Yet, the moment the Zombie approached Yu Ruanruan, it was repelled, and the other Zombies seemed to ignore her entirely, surging only toward Yu Lejia’s group.Ye Jin clearly observed the situation around Yu Ruanruan. It seemed she couldn’t harm her for now.

Without lingering any longer, she headed to her previous residence.

This System was no simple matter. To eliminate Yu Ruanruan, it appeared she had to deal with the System first. She just didn’t know what other extraordinary abilities this thing possessed.

By the time Ye Jin arrived, Zhang Yiyi and Xia Li were already waiting for her at the door. The owner of the house hadn’t moved in yet before the apocalypse arrived.

Using her Mental Power, Ye Jin sensed that everyone in the unit across from hers had turned into Zombies.

Since her floor wasn’t very high, she climbed in through the balcony and swiftly eliminated the Zombies inside.

She opened the door to let Xia Li and Zhang Yiyi in. “Yi Yi, I still have some unfinished business and will likely need to stay here for a couple more days. But don’t worry, I’ve placed Aunt Chen and Xiao Chen in a very safe location.”

“Alright, I just saw there’s still some food in the fridge, enough to last us a few days.”

Zhang Yiyi had no objections. She trusted Ye Jin.

Xia Li had even fewer reservations. From the start, he had intended to follow Ye Jin, so he would simply do as she arranged.

“Yu Ruanruan knows this place. I’m afraid she might come looking for us. Let’s make sure she doesn’t find out we’re here.” The location was close to the school, the only place Yu Ruanruan was familiar with.

Zhang Yiyi had always disliked Yu Ruanruan, feeling she was overly pretentious. Seeing that Ye Jin was now paying her little attention was for the best.

…

The apocalypse had just begun, and chaos reigned. Many people hadn’t yet realized the importance of supplies. She needed to quickly gather resources while most were still unaware.

She hadn’t yet collected the several RVs she had her eye on last time.

Ye Jin went directly to the car dealership. There wasn’t a single living soul left inside. On the day the apocalypse broke out, a small car exhibition was being held there, and many people were bitten before they could escape.

There were quite a few Zombies around, so Ye Jin had to sneak in quietly. She made her way to the RVs she favored, eliminated a few Zombies loitering near the vehicles—likely models based on their attire—and lightly touched the car bodies, immediately storing them in her Dimension. Not only the RVs but also other vehicles with good performance were stored away.

She wished she could take everything, but if a large number of vehicles suddenly disappeared, it would surely draw attention. Once she had collected enough, she retreated.

Ye Jin took out a map from her Dimension and planned to head to a few less-populated gas stations she had marked earlier. She initially intended to collect fuel in order, but noticing a large pharmacy nearby and a gas station not far away, she changed her mind and decided to go to the pharmacy first!

The pharmacy was newly opened, just a street away from the car dealership, situated in a slightly secluded location, not on the main street.

By the time Ye Jin arrived, there wasn’t a single Zombie at the entrance, only a few Zombie corpses lying on the ground.

Had someone beaten her to it?

Since she was already here, she couldn’t leave empty-handed. The pharmacy was large; it was impossible for everything to have been taken.

She entered through a damaged side door. The medicines inside were completely untouched. Ye Jin ventured further in, but there wasn’t a single Zombie in sight.

Something was wrong!

A sudden chill ran down Ye Jin’s spine—danger!

She swiftly turned and pulled a nearby medicine shelf to block an attack, sending medicines scattering everywhere.

A dark, bluish claw shot toward Ye Jin’s face. She swung her Ancient blade quickly, striking the claw. It was incredibly hard—she couldn’t cut it off completely.Unable to capture Ye Jin, the zombie quickly pounced and bit again.

The pharmacy had too many shelves, leaving too little space to maneuver. Ye Jin was forced into a corner by the zombie.

It was a level one zombie, much faster and stronger than ordinary zombies!

Though covered in bloodstains, the zombie was still recognizable as wearing a nurse’s uniform—likely a former employee of the pharmacy.

The female zombie bore large and small wounds from Ye Jin’s earlier strikes, with one arm mutilated, unlike injuries from ordinary weapons.

“Heh, heh.”

Unable to bite Ye Jin, the zombie emitted low growls.

The space was too cramped to exert full force. Ye Jin gathered lightning in her hand and hurled a Lightning Ball at its forehead.

“Heh!” The zombie’s head was half-electrocuted, letting out a louder cry of pain.

Half its brains had spilled out, yet it wasn’t dead?

Ye Jin raised her hand and released a larger bolt of lightning, striking its head with another fierce blow. The skull shattered, and the zombie finally collapsed silently.

Using a knife to probe the zombie’s head, she retrieved a sparkling Crystal. After rinsing it clean with mineral water, Ye Jin directly stored it in her Dimension.

Only a few days into the apocalypse, and there was already a first-tier zombie? She remembered from her previous life that she first encountered one only after the heavy snow.

Could it be that because she was reborn, everything had changed?

Ye Jin collected half of the medicines from the shelves and found the store’s warehouse, which was fully stocked with a complete range of various drugs.

It seemed this trip was worth it—the pharmacy had just opened and must have recently restocked.

After gathering everything and preparing to leave, Ye Jin noticed very faint breathing sounds from a small room next to the warehouse.

A living person?

Had someone seen her when she was collecting supplies earlier?

Pushing the door open, she found a large pit on the ground!

Lying beside it was a tall man in a military uniform, covered in blood and breathing weakly.

Taking a closer look, Ye Jin was struck by the coincidence.

It was actually him!
