The sensation of flesh shattering brought no pain. Xiao Yan snapped his eyes open, only to be greeted by a white ceiling. He raised a hand to block the glaring light, and once his vision adjusted, he opened his eyes again and immediately vaulted up from the bed.

What was going on? Had he not blown himself up while holding Mu Li? How was it that the moment he opened his eyes, he had returned to his own room? Although quite some time had passed, he still remembered that this was the room he had lived in for over twenty years before the apocalypse. Every single spot here was so familiar. He picked up his phone to check the time, but the date displayed was exactly one month before the apocalypse began. Could it be that he had been reborn?

Xiao Yan pinched his thigh hard, and the pain rushed through. He then picked up the water cup from the bedside table, splashed the water onto his face, and smashed the cup heavily onto the floor. All these genuine tactile sensations told him he was not dreaming.Full novel: Rebirth in the Apocalypse: Pampered Exclusively — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Although unbelievable, he had indeed been reborn. With this realization confirmed, Xiao Yan let out a chuckle, which soon escalated into uncontrollable laughter. Truly, heaven refused to let him die! Xiao Yan laughed until his stomach ached. He would not and dared not forget all that had passed. Since fate had granted him a second chance at life, he would certainly never let go of those who had betrayed him.

Heaven had eyes to give him the chance to play slowly with them. However, there was no rush right now; he had something far more important to do than taking revenge.

Xiao Yan casually threw on an outfit, but suddenly thought of something. He dressed up meticulously, grabbed his car keys, and walked out the door.

At this hour, his good father was at work, his mother was shopping and visiting the beauty salon, and his good sister was at school, so no one would notice anything unusual about him.

Xiao Yan drove all the way toward the university town. His hands trembled uncontrollably. The thought of Mu Li made his chest ache faintly. Right now, he was impatient to see Mu Li, to pull that person into his arms, and never let go for the rest of this lifetime.

Driving all the way to the university where Mu Li was, Xiao Yan didn’t even bother to lock his car door. He ran straight inside. Mu Li was currently leading a group of followers toward the cafeteria, those people flattering him from all sides and crowding around him in the middle, standing out prominently in the bustling campus.

Mu Li had his hands shoved into his pockets, sucking on a lollipop as he walked while kicking a pebble along the path. His hair was dyed a pale shade of blue, and the accessories on his clothes jingled slightly with his movements, giving off the complete vibe of a delinquent youth. Yet, he couldn’t hide the fact that he possessed a pretty face, making him look like a luminous body that drew the gazes of most people on campus.

“Young Master Mu, do you have time tonight? Today is my birthday, could I please ask you to grace us with your presence for a casual meal?” The youth beside Mu Li asked ingratiatingly. This young master from the capital was someone all the local second-generation wealthy heirs needed to flatter; within their circle, there wasn’t a single person whose parents hadn’t given them strict warnings.

Mu Li looked listless. He had been in a somewhat poor mood lately and had no interest in attending any birthday banquets. Pulling out his phone, he transferred some money to the youth and flatly refused, “I’m not going. Go buy yourself a gift. I don’t feel like going out these past two days.”

“Alright, alright. Then I won’t disturb you any further. Thank you very much for the gift, Young Master Mu!” The youth beamed with joy. The hundred and fifty thousand yuan Mu Li transferred him certainly wasn’t much to wealthy heirs like them who didn’t lack money, but this was a birthday gift given by the young master of the Mu family, which was definitely enough to give him plenty of face when he went out and boasted about it.

Mu Li merely nodded without saying anything more. He had been feeling a bit depressed lately because he had finally managed to fall for someone, even giving up the opportunity to study abroad just to chase this person to a second-tier city. In the end, that person didn’t seem to like him at all and even showed a certain degree of aversion toward him.

This left Mu Li extremely troubled. The young master was very good at throwing money around and acted completely arrogant toward others, but when it came to that person, he had no idea what to do, making him worried to death.

Just as he was worrying, Mu Li suddenly caught sight of the very person he was thinking of running toward him. Standing frozen in place, he was caught completely off guard and pulled tightly into that person’s embrace. Mu Li stood there dumbfounded as Xiao Yan hugged him. His followers were just about to speak up, but Xiao Yan’s fierce glare frightened them back, leaving them standing in place and not knowing what to do.

Xiao Yan radiated an aura of murderous intent, yet he held the person in his arms with extreme gentleness and care, completely reluctant to let go. Mu Li had liked him all along, and although he still couldn’t figure out the situation, he didn’t have the heart to push him away. After a long while, Xiao Yan calmed his emotions, took hold of Mu Li’s hand, and said, “Come with me.”
