"Aetherion?!" Adrian exclaimed.
The figure looked at him with calm, golden eyes.
"Indeed," he said, his voice echoing throughout the endless white space. In your world... I am known as God."
"God?!" Adrian’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Questions flooded his mind one after another.
"Where am I?!"
"Am I dead?!"
"No... I have to continue my training!"
Without thinking, Adrian turned and ran.
He kept running, but no matter how far he went, the endless white space never changed.
Finally, he stopped and looked around in panic.
"Enough."
Aetherion’s voice was neither loud nor angry, yet it carried an overwhelming authority that made Adrian freeze in place.
"This is My Primordial Realm, a place beyond space, time, and mortal understanding. No matter how far you run, you shall never leave unless I permit it."
Adrian swallowed nervously.
"Calm your heart, human," Aetherion continued. "Listen, and I shall reveal the truth."
"You are already dead."
The words struck Adrian harder than any weapon.
"You lost your life the moment the lightning descended upon your world."
"...Lightning?" Adrian muttered.
His memories slowly returned.
"I... I remember it now. I was struck by lightning. But... that’s impossible. People don’t just get struck by lightning in my world; it’s an unusual phenomenon . What could’ve caused it?"
"It was neither fate nor punishment," Aetherion answered.
"It was an accident."
"An accident?" Adrian repeated.
"In another reality, two primordial beings clashed in battle. Their power exceeded the limits of the world they fought in."
"Their attacks shattered the fabric of reality itself."
Adrian scratched his head.
"So... we’re talking multiverse stuff now? Like those sci-fi movies?"
Aetherion remained silent for a brief moment before speaking again.
"Your world has many names for it. Some call it the multiverse. Others call it the endless realities."
"Whatever name you choose does not change the truth."
He raised a hand. Then a confinement appeared. In it were two inhuman beings with scared bruises, lying almost lifeless in the confinement.
"One of those beings summoned a Divine Lightning Spear and hurled it at his opponent."
"The attack missed."
"But its power was too great for reality to contain."
"So It tore through space and time..."
"...crossed countless planets..."
"...and entered the nearest universe."
"Your world."
"It descended upon the exact place where you stood."
"And thus..."
"You perished."
Adrian stared at him in silence. Then his expression twisted with rage.
"What the hell do you mean?!", "I died because these two calamities were fighting?!"
"I can’t accept this!" He clenched his fists. "If you’re God..."
"Where were you?" Aetherion’s expression never changed.
"I was preserving the reality in which they fought."
"Had I abandoned my duty, an entire universe would have been erased."
"My responsibility was to protect countless lives."
His golden eyes softened slightly.
"Yet that does not lessen the injustice that befell you."
Adrian lowered his head.
"...My mother..."
His voice trembled.
"What will happen to her?" "She has no one else." "How is she supposed to live without me?" Tears rolled down his face. Aetherion watched him quietly. After a long silence, he spoke.
"Even after death..."
"...your first concern is not yourself."
"But your mother."
A faint smile appeared on Aetherion’s face.
"I shall grant your wish."
"Your mother will not suffer. I will watch over her, and she will live a peaceful life."
"As for you..."
"I have another way to make amends."
"I cannot return your life, for doing so would violate the laws of nature that I myself established."
"However, as amends for what has happened, I shall grant you another life."
Aetherion raised his hand, and countless images appeared before Adrian.
"The world I shall send you to is unlike your own."
"It is a world where magic exists."
"A world filled with monsters, dragons, ancient races, powerful kingdoms, and even divine beings." As Aetherion continued, Adrian’s eyes gradually lit up.
"Wait..."
"So... this is basically an isekai?"
Aetherion looked at him for a brief moment before replying, "You may call it that if it helps you understand." Adrian suddenly grinned.
"So all those anime and games weren’t completely wrong after all."
Aetherion simply sighed. "Human... your priorities continue to confuse me."
A Golden screen suddenly appeared before Adrian, glowing with a divine light.
"These are the Divine Blessings," Aetherion said.
"I shall allow you to choose three. Choose wisely, for the blessings you select shall remain with you throughout your second life."
Adrian looked at the glowing screen before him.
