Yun Youyou quickly entered the empty alley, wrapping the entire alley in psychic power, then enveloped herself and withdrew the psychic energy from the alley.

She instantly teleported back home and stopped at the kitchen door to take a look. She saw that Zhou Miaomiao was still asleep, so she returned to her little partition.

“Sigh, I cleaned up too thoroughly.”Full novel: Reborn in the 1960s with Infinite Supplies—She Does as She Pleases — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She had barely found a spot to sit when she heard Yun Youran and Yun Zhenguo’s voices.

“I wonder if Mom has finished cooking. I’m starving.”

“Little sister, why don’t we just go in and see?”

Creak…

The door opened, and the siblings were shocked by what they saw: the main hall was completely empty.

Yun Youran was the first to react. She tugged at her older brother’s sleeve, trembling from shock:

“Big brother, did we come to the wrong house? Where’s everything? Why is it all so empty?”

Snapped out of it by his sister, Yun Zhenguo was also in disbelief. He stepped back, looking around, then back at the front door.

“Nothing… nothing’s wrong, right? How could this happen? Was it… stolen?”

The next second, the siblings spoke in unison:

“Mom?”

They rushed into the main hall and found their mother lying in the kitchen, which was also empty.

Yun Zhenguo and Yun Youran didn’t run straight to their mother. Instead, they dashed to their parents’ bedroom, hoping it was intact.

At the bedroom door, they saw it too was completely empty.

Buzz…

Seeing the scene, the siblings felt their heads spinning.

“No, the stuff should be in the basement! I… it should be fine.”

“Big brother, we need to check. If those things… aren’t there, we can’t… they have to be there.”

“Stop talking. Let’s go to the basement right now.”

Before they could finish, they rushed into the room, triggered the mechanism, and entered the underground chamber. When they saw it… empty.

Yun Zhenguo’s eyes turned red, his whole body trembling. His hands clenched so tightly that his knuckles went white.

“Th-This… this can’t be possible!”

“All the money and valuables are gone… how are we supposed to live now?”

“I still wanted to buy a job slot and get married!”

Yun Youran, standing nearby, saw the empty chamber and was equally furious.

“My… my dowry!”

“I wanted to buy some beautiful clothes… now we can’t even afford meals.”

The siblings collapsed to the floor, staring at the scene, unable to believe it was real.

Only then did they remember their mother had fainted.

“Little sister, let’s go! Mom’s still unconscious in the kitchen!”

Hearing this, Yun Youran remembered her mother and quickly got up, following her brother out.

As they exited the bedroom, they heard a scream:

“Ahhh!!!”

Then came their mother’s scolding:

“Who the hell did this??? Emptied our house??”

“There’s nothing left! How are we supposed to live like this?”

Hearing their mother, Yun Youran ran toward her, worry written all over her face.

“Mom, what happened? We came back and found the house completely empty.”

“Weren’t you at home? Did you see who did this?”

Walking behind, Yun Zhenguo wanted to ask the same question. He looked at his sister, then at his mother.

“Mom, what happened? Even your room, Dad’s room, and the basement—they’re all empty!”

“Our home has nothing left. How are we supposed to survive?”

Already furious, Zhou Miaomiao could only hear one thought echoing in her mind:

“The basement is empty too… there’s nothing left in the house…”

Bang!

A heavy object fell. The siblings saw their mother faint again.

Panicking, they helped her up. Yun Zhenguo looked at the empty house, then carried his mother straight to the hospital. He shouted:

“Little sister, go find Dad! Have him come to the hospital to pay!”

“And remember to report it to the police, so they can recover our stolen valuables.”

Before Yun Youyou could respond, Yun Aiguo’s voice rang out:

“No reporting to the police!!”

The siblings looked up and saw their father return. His face was as dark as thunder, as if someone had dug up their ancestral grave.

Originally, Yun Aiguo had planned to divide the treasures into three for his children that evening. Returning home happily, he heard that the house had been emptied. Now he was furious. He coldly said to his children:

“Why the hospital? Mom just fainted. Let her rest and she’ll be fine. Times have changed; we don’t have money for hospitals. Salaries won’t come until next month. How are we supposed to manage this month?”

Holding their mother, Yun Zhenguo’s face was full of disbelief. He couldn’t understand why his father forbade reporting the theft.

After a moment, he asked his question:

“Dad, why not report it? So many valuables were stolen. How can we get them back if we don’t report it?”

Smack!

Before he could finish, Yun Aiguo slapped his son, glaring viciously. He restrained his anger, speaking in a low voice:

“You want the whole family to be dragged away to the farms? Do you think the money and valuables could ever be claimed publicly? And everything I’ve done—if discovered, would the family be safe?”

Hearing their father, Yun Youran and Yun Zhenguo finally understood. Of course! Their father had done a lot over the years.

Just then, Zhou Miaomiao’s shouting had alerted the neighbors, who gathered outside Yun’s home.

Because Yun Aiguo spoke quietly, the neighbors couldn’t hear the details, but seeing the family of four standing in the empty main hall, everyone knew Yun’s house had really been emptied.

“Yun Aiguo, your house was robbed! Go report it to the police! The sooner you report, the higher the chance of recovering your belongings!”

“Huh, your wife fainted? Quickly take her to the hospital! Don’t let anything serious happen~~”

“Do you want us to help report it?”

Blah blah blah~~

All Yun Aiguo heard were the neighbors’ concerned voices. But he felt no warmth, because he dared not report it.

The siblings exchanged glances, saying nothing. They feared that any wrong word could drag the family into disaster.

The neighbors continued to urge, and some curious ones had even walked into the main hall.
