It was still early, and it seemed her sleep hadn’t been very good again.

Li Feifeng got up not long after, packed her things, and left.

Tang Ximian pretended not to see. She was more than happy to see someone she disliked leave.Full novel: Reborn in the 80s: The Husband-Doting Fanatic Slays All — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After two rounds of commotion, everyone was awakened, but no one said much. Zhou Xue directly took away Tang Ximian’s washbasin and even refilled it for her when she returned.

“Thank you,” Tang Ximian said with a slight smile, only to have Zhou Xue pinch her cheek.

Zhou Xue laughed lightly, “Why so polite with me? By the way, I want to visit your child today!”

“No need. They should be back by noon. They can be discharged from the hospital today!”

Indeed, it was time for discharge. Before noon, Tang Ximian received word that someone had come to see her.

Zhou Xue and Liu Mengjia couldn’t sit still and insisted on going along to see.

Tang Ximian chuckled, “How about I just call them in?”

“That works!” Director Song chimed in, “It’s been a while since I’ve seen your husband! They should come in!”

When Tang Ximian saw Chu Jiangchuan, she couldn’t help but smile. Her sunlit face was full of affection, and Chu Jiangchuan’s heart softened, a smile spilling from the corners of his lips. “Mianmian!”

“Auntie!” Nana ran over and hugged Tang Ximian.

Tang Ximian smiled at them. “Sis, Mom, Director Song just said you should come in and take a look!”

“How can we?” Xu Guangfen refused without a second thought. “You and Jiangchuan should take Nana in. I’m not going!”

Chu Jiangrong also shook her head. “I’m not going either! I can’t stand seeing those people. I’d be terrified!”

After much persuasion, the young couple finally took the child inside.

“Oh! So this is your husband, Mianmian?” Zhou Xue grinned as she approached. “Oh my, look at this child!”

After exchanging greetings, Song Weiguo asked about Chu Jiangchuan’s leg and was relieved to hear he had recovered.

As the others played with Nana, Chu Jiangchuan placed a lunchbox on the table. “Mianmian, I got you potato and pork from the restaurant. Share it with everyone later!”

Tang Ximian nodded. “Have you and Mom eaten yet?”

“We plan to eat on the way. You woke up early this morning, so make sure to eat well!”

“Xiao Tang.” Zhao Heping walked in and paused at the sight of the two newcomers. “You are…?”

“Hello, I’m Mianmian’s husband, Chu Jiangchuan.” Chu Jiangchuan stood straight and extended his hand.

Zhao Heping grinned, though a hint of bitterness lingered in his heart. “Hello, I’m Zhao Heping.”

A flicker of emotion passed through Chu Jiangchuan’s eyes. After releasing the handshake, he immediately took Tang Ximian’s hand. “Mianmian, come outside with me for a moment.”

“Huh?”

“I need to use the restroom.”

“Pfft…”

There was no such urgency. Tang Ximian looked at the man who had pressed her into a corner near the restroom, her eyes brimming with amusement. “What’s wrong?”

Chu Jiangchuan’s thin lips pressed tightly together. “That Zhao guy… has he ever…”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Tang Ximian covered his mouth. “It wouldn’t be good if someone heard.”

Chu Jiangchuan pinched her cheek and kissed her. “Don’t look at others, only look at me!”

“Alright, alright. I’ll only look at you, only like you. Okay?” Tang Ximian was charmed by him and broke into a wide smile. “Let’s go!”

“Wait a moment…” Chu Jiangchuan really didn’t want to give up this opportunity, stubbornly planting several kisses on his wife’s lips before leaving.

The two returned hand in hand.

Zhao Heping still couldn’t help but glance at them a few more times.

As they were leaving, Director Song gave Nana a packet of animal-shaped cookies.

“Director…”

“Take it, it’s not for you! It’s for the child!” Song Weiguo said while practically shoving the three of them out: “Be careful on your way!”

Chu Jiangchuan left with Tang Ximian and Nana, where they encountered Li Feifeng rushing over.

The moment she clearly saw the two of them, Li Feifeng was stunned by Chu Jiangchuan’s appearance: “You…”

“Let’s go.” Tang Ximian didn’t give her a chance to speak.

As the three walked away, Li Feifeng stood behind them, grinding her teeth in jealousy.

How did she get such a handsome man!

Why does every good thing fall into her lap!

“That woman tried to hit me before and spoke badly about the child. I just hit her back. She was from our dorm and has already transferred to another department!”

“As long as you weren’t bullied.” Chu Jiangchuan watched Nana running to find her mother and tightened his grip on the hand beside him: “Protect yourself! If it’s really too much, just come home – I’ll take care of you!”

“Oh, stop it!” Tang Ximian laughed at his teasing: “You’ve got one week to focus on recovering properly yourself!”

After seeing them off, Tang Ximian hurried back, with her first task being to open the lunchbox.

Inside was fragrant pork and golden potatoes – this single portion cost twenty cents.

“Smells amazing!” Sister Lin came in and caught the aroma, peeking over before smiling: “From your husband, right? What a thoughtful man!”

Tang Ximian nodded, her face slightly flushed: “Sister Lin, why don’t you all share some with me?”

“Who wants to eat with you! This was brought by your husband – you enjoy it yourself!” Sister Lin chuckled while heading to get her own lunchbox filled.

Tang Ximian didn’t stand on ceremony anymore. She bought two steamed buns and returned to work while eating.

The materials this time were unexpectedly extensive, but based on what she had translated, she knew she was nearly finished earning this money.

She had to complete all translations today, as tomorrow she needed to check out the voice acting work. Her schedule was packed.

By 8:30 that evening, Tang Ximian finally completed all the materials – totaling thirty-five thousand words – leaving her eyes aching from exhaustion.

“Mianmian, I want to sleep with you.” Liu Mengjia sat up from her bedside: “I miss my mom…”

“If you’re homesick, find time to visit. You…”

“My mom died.” Liu Mengjia hugged Tang Ximian, her voice choked: “She died when I was little. My dad didn’t really care for me – my uncle and aunt raised me!”

Tang Ximian froze for a moment before holding Liu Mengjia tighter: “You need to take good care of yourself, understand?”

The two shared a bed and slept soundly.

The next day, after finishing her work, Tang Ximian went to the address Liu Mengjia had previously given her, while also mailing out her completed materials along the way.

This turned out to be a film studio complex, complete with dedicated dubbing rooms and shooting locations, though not particularly large – mostly just scenery spots.

She found the dubbing room from the address. With no one outside, she knocked and entered after hearing a response.

“Who are you looking for?”

“Um…” Tang Ximian paused slightly. “I heard you’ve been looking for voice actors here these past few days, so I wanted to come try out!”

“You?” The other person looked at her and chuckled. “Get out, we’re hiring men here!”

Tang Ximian nodded and spoke up: “What kind of men are you looking for?”

The person in charge: !!!

“That voice just now… came from you?!”
