Si Qin sat to one side, using his laptop to handle documents. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the youth looking at him with an aggrieved expression, much like a little puppy.
Losing all drive to continue working on his documents, Si Qin closed his laptop, walked over, and reached out to place his large hand over the youth’s fluffy head, gently rubbing it. The youth’s hair was soft and carried the warmth of his scalp, and the pleasant tactile sensation made him suddenly reluctant to pull away.
The large hand resting atop his head startled Si Shao, yet before he even fully registered what he was doing, he instinctively rubbed his head against the man’s palm.
The youth’s action—resembling a small beast seeking shelter—successfully lifted Si Qin’s mood.
A trace of indulgence, of which the man himself was entirely unaware, appeared in his eyes, and his thin lips unconsciously curved upward into an arc. After a moment’s thought, he gently patted the youth’s head and said, “Be a good boy.”
Si Shao lowered his gaze and reached out to gently tug at the corner of the man’s shirt, remaining silent as he stared fixedly at the blue-and-white striped blanket covering him.
Si Qin was somewhat baffled, unsure of what had come over the youth. The mighty president found himself stumped by the situation for the very first time; he figured it might just be the youth’s adolescent rebellion or chuunibyou phase, making it hard for him to voice whatever was on his mind. Besides, there were no major matters at the company today—assuming a multi-million-dollar contract waiting to be signed didn’t count. Bringing his laptop over, Si Qin sat right by the bedside, handling official business while keeping Si Shao company.
Seeing that his brother hadn’t left, Si Shao pressed his lips together, a small, happy smile blooming on his face.
The afternoon sunlight was bright and just right, and a gentle breeze stirred the sky-blue curtains by the window, causing a corner of the fabric to flutter upward like a butterfly taking flight.
They say a man is most handsome when he is working hard, and that saying was entirely true when applied to Si Qin. His gaze was fixed with intense focus on the laptop screen before him, his fingers flying swiftly across the keyboard. The golden sunlight spilled across his profile, and the faint, downy fuzz on his cheeks softened the stern, resolute contours of his jaw.
His reddish, thin lips were pressed tightly into a straight line, radiating an ascetic coldness and an unapproachable aloofness that only made him all the more captivating, stirring an urge to kiss him.
Watching him, Si Shao realized for the first time just how incredibly handsome his older brother was, especially with this cold, ascetic demeanor that was inexplicably alluring. The second young master felt an itch in his throat, inexplicably feeling as though he had just been flirted with by his own brother.
Right! It must be because this man is simply too handsome, not because my own willpower is lacking. I, the second young master, am a straight man—completely straight.
Reassuring himself with this thought, the second young master comfortably resumed admiring his older brother’s striking looks. After all, his brother was the number one golden bachelor and diamond king of S City! It would be a waste not to look.
By the time Si Qin finished processing his documents, the sun was already setting in the west. A massive, fiery-red sun hung on the horizon, painting a vast expanse of clouds in vibrant hues of flame, looking exceptionally gorgeous through the open window.
Si Qin closed his computer, raised his wrist to check his watch, and saw that it was already past six o’clock.
“Are you hungry?” he asked, standing up and looking at the youth on the bed.
Si Shao, who had spent the entire afternoon engrossed in his older brother’s good looks, froze for a moment before realizing that his brother was asking if he was hungry.
“Hungry,” the youth replied blankly, looking up at the man with a single tuft of hair sticking up on top of his head.
His hands itching with the urge to touch, Si Qin ultimately chose to obey his inner desires and gave that tuft of hair on top of the youth’s head a vigorous ruffle.
