My head snapped up, my eyes wide.
“Really?”
“Yes,” Damien answered calmly.
“Did you meet with Sarah?”
“Oh my gosh, yes!” I sat up straight, beaming.
“How on earth did you manage to get someone like her to take my case?”
Damien gave a faint, indifferent shrug.
“I made a few calls.
What did she say?”
I gave him a proud thumbs-up.
“She agreed!
She’s sending the contract over first thing tomorrow morning.”
“You must have impressed her,” Damien noted, a slight glint of approval in his eyes.
“I definitely did,” I said, leaning forward with a bright grin.
“Have you eaten yet?”
…
The following morning, I was lying sprawled on the bed scrolling through brainless tiktok videos on my phone when I heard a knock on the door.
“Yeah?”
The door swung open, and Thomas stepped into the doorway, bowing slightly.
“Good morning, Madam.
Ms.
Winters is currently waiting downstairs.”
“What?
Seriously?!”
I tossed the phone onto the mattress, kicked off the sheets, and bolted through the doorway.
Skipping the elevator entirely, my bare feet slapped against the cold marble steps as I took them two at a time down the staircase.
Sarah sat on the leather sofa in the living area, holding a teacup as she spoke quietly with Damien.
“Good morning, Ms.
Winters,” I panted, coming to a halt near the sofa and resting a hand against my chest to catch my breath.
“Oh, Eliana.
You’re here.” Sarah set her teacup down, reached into her briefcase, and pulled out a document alongside a fountain pen.
She laid both on the glass coffee table.
“Here is the contract.”
I cast a quick side glance at Damien, who sat silently in his wheelchair, before stepping over to pick up the papers.
“I didn’t expect you to bring it personally—especially this early.”
“I normally wouldn’t,” Sarah said, adjusting her glasses with one finger. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.
“However, we need to leave immediately after signing to finalize your first beauty ad campaign.”
I blinked, freezing as I flipped through the first page.
“What?”
She tilted her head slightly, her gaze sharp.
“Didn’t Young Master Damien inform you?”
I spun around, staring down at Damien.
“Tell me what?!”
Damien lifted his tea, taking a slow sip.
“I told you I would handle it, didn’t I?”
“Well, yeah, but…
I didn’t think it would happen this fast!”
A smile broke across my face anyway.
I uncapped the pen, leaned over the table, and signed my name along the dotted line.
“I look forward to working with you, Ms.
Winters.”
I held out my hand, and she gripped it in and shook it before glancing down at her wristwatch.
“We should start heading out now.”
“Alright!
Just give me one second.”
I hurried back toward the elevator, riding it up to the third floor.
I ducked into the closet, slipping into a light blue mini dress and stepping into a pair of matching heels.
After a quick glance in the full-length mirror to smooth down my hair, I hurried back downstairs.
“I’m ready!”
Sarah stood up, smoothing the front of her suit jacket.
“Good.
Let’s go.”
I followed behind her, but before I left I turned my head back to Damien who was still sitting on the couch sipping tea and gave him a slight wave.
“Bye.”
We left the house and headed towards the headquarters of Mireille Beauty.
When we arrived there we were quickly led by the receptionist to Genevieve office.
Genevieve stood up from behind her desk to greet us, but her polite smile froze the second her eyes landed on the woman walking behind me.
“Sarah?
What are you doing here?”
Sarah gave a barely noticeable smile.
“It’s been a while Genevieve, I’m here as Eliana’s manager.”
Vivienne’s jaw tightened slightly in genuine shock before she quickly recovered her composure.
“Manager?
Well…
Genevieve gestured for me to sit down, and I took a seat with Sarah.
She placed a file on the table, the contract neatly clipped together, and gestured for me to read it carefully.
“We will be offering you a payment of $20,000 for this advertisement project,” she said calmly.
“This includes both the photo shoot and the video commercial.
If the campaign performs well, there may also be opportunities for future collaborations.”
I was taken aback but kept my reaction under control, it was uncommon for a complete rookie, to get paid that amount for an advert.
“Does this payment sound reasonable to you, Ms.
Whitmore?” Genevieve asked, carefully watching my reaction.
I glanced towards Sarah, who was skimming through the contract, she turned to me and gave a small nod.
I turned back to Genevieve and nodded as well, and said.
“Yes, Ms.
Mireille.
This sounds perfectly reasonable to me.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” Genevieve said with a smile.
“If you’re done reading the contract, we can move onto finalizing it.”
I patiently waited for Sarah to go through everything, once she was done, I picked up the pen and signed my name onto the contract.
[Ding!

“Welcome aboard, Ms.
Whitmore.” Genevieve rose slightly, extending her hand across the table.
“I look forward to working with you.”
I smiled, shaking her hand tightly.
“I won’t let you down, Ms.
Mireille.”
It wasn’t my very first job in front of a camera, but after everything I’d lost, it felt like I was starting all over again.
Genevieve promised she would send 50% of my payment as a down payment, but since I hadn’t opened a new bank account yet, I asked her to transfer it tomorrow instead.
Once everything was settled, I left the office with a bright smile on my face, even bouncing a little as I walked with Sarah.
Sarah turned to me as we approached the building exit.
“Return home and rest for today.
I have still have other matters to handle.”
“Oh, alright,” I replied, slowing my pace.
“What else do you have planned?”
Sarah’s lips curved into a a faint smile as she checked her tablet screen.
“We need to hire a social media manager and a personal assistant for you.”
