Chapter 21: Aftermath

Reincarnated as a damn planet

Liam returned to Intangible Spectation, his physical body disappearing from the world as he once again became an invisible observer above the planet.

"I can’t believe how that turned out. Even I could feel the aura surrounding me."

Liam looked down toward the settlement, his curiosity growing as he watched Retian still holding onto the Dagger of Divinity.

"Now let’s see what will happen after I gave him the Dagger of Divinity."

Retian remained frozen in shock, his eyes wide and his mind seemingly unable to process what had just happened. He continued staring at the strange artifact in his hands, as though he were afraid that it would disappear if he looked away.

"What... happened?" one of the humans asked while grunting and struggling to get himself back onto his feet.

"I passed out as well."

"God... The god the elves have been talking about suddenly appeared." someone muttered.

The surrounding humans began discussing the event among themselves, each person trying to make sense of what they had witnessed. Among them was an older human who had been present throughout the entire encounter. He slowly stepped forward, his expression becoming increasingly thoughtful.

"I witnessed everything..." the old man said. "This reminds me of a story my grandfather once told me about a wise lizardman."

"Wise lizardman?" Liam immediately became interested. "That must be Odir. Since the timeline checks out."

The old human continued thinking about the story before his eyes suddenly moved toward Retian.

"Could it be that this boy right here has just been blessed in the same way that the wise lizardman was?"

The old man turned his head toward Retian, who was still standing there while tightly holding the Dagger of Divinity. His eyes widened as the realization struck him.

"Everyone, I believe that boy has been blessed by the god!"

He paused before correcting himself.

"Or perhaps... he announced himself as The Entity."

"Yeah, The Entity," Liam muttered from above. "Just call me whatever. As long as it sounds cool."

The old man immediately turned toward the others. "Tell the village chief what happened!"

After the event, Retian quickly became the talk of the settlement. The boy who had challenged Omir in a duel was no longer an ordinary young man. He had become someone important, with some beginning to call him the one chosen by God.

The information spread rapidly through the surrounding settlements. The witnesses told their families, travelers carried the story to distant villages, and merchants eventually carried the tale even farther. Before long, the appearance of the mysterious being known as The Entity had spread throughout the continent, attracting travelers who were willing to journey great distances simply to see Retian with their own eyes.

As for Omir, his fate was considerably less fortunate.

He was chained and punished by the settlement, eventually becoming regarded as a public enemy. Many believed that the strange god had personally descended from the heavens to punish him, making Omir’s defeat even more significant in their eyes.

Liam watched everything unfold from above.

"Did I pick the wrong person?" He looked toward Retian, who had become far more famous than Liam had expected.

"I thought he’d be interesting and go around testing his weapon or something, but instead he’s been locked away meditating ever since."

Liam continued watching him for a while.

Then, faintly, he heard something. "The Entity... Thank you for giving me another chance to live."

He looked around in surprise. "I can hear his prayers?"

[You have publicly announced your existence.]

[The System has therefore permitted Retian to directly communicate with you, as he has been personally chosen by you and currently wields an artifact created by you.]

[This function may be classified as Divine Communication.]

"Divine Communication?"

Liam considered the concept for a moment.

"Then can I talk to him directly?"

[You may.]

"Okay, nice." Liam smiled before becoming slightly hesitant.

"Though I don’t want to talk to him constantly. That would ruin my image as a god."

He touched his imaginary chin while thinking about how he should approach the conversation. After a few seconds, he finally activated the newly available function.

"System, activate Divine Communication."

[System activated.]

Liam focused his attention toward Retian.

"Retian Drough."

Retian immediately stopped meditating.

His eyes widened as he quickly rose to his feet and instinctively entered a fighting stance, gripping the Dagger of Divinity tightly.

"Do not be afraid."

Liam’s voice echoed directly within Retian’s mind, carrying a strange weight that made every word feel as though it had originated from somewhere far beyond the heavens.

"I am The Entity, the one who shaped the world upon which you walk, and the creator who has watched your kind since its beginning."

Retian’s breathing became heavier.

"The Entity..." he whispered.

Liam continued, his voice becoming deeper and more solemn.

"I have chosen you for a purpose, Retian Drough."

The young man lowered his head, listening carefully.

"You shall travel across this world and spread my existence. Let the peoples of distant lands know that The Entity watches over this world, and through your journey, you shall seek the purpose that awaits you. Spread the word"

Retian’s hands trembled slightly around the artifact.

"Spread the word..."

He hesitated before raising his head. "But what if they doubt me, The Entity?"

There was no answer that came back to him. The divine presence had already vanished.

Retian remained standing in the silent room, staring into empty space while trying to understand the task that had just been given to him.

"I can do this... right?"

Retian looked down at the Dagger of Divinity still firmly held in his hand, his expression slowly changing from uncertainty into determination. The Entity itself had chosen him, meaning there had to be a reason behind it. Surely, the god had seen something within him, some hidden potential that even he had never recognized before.

He took a deep breath and reaffirmed himself, tightening his grip around the artifact.

"The Entity has chosen me for a reason. Whatever plans it has for me, I will not disappoint it."

His hesitation finally disappeared, replaced by a firm resolve.

"I shall carry out the task and complete it!"
