Kal’tsit?

If he hadn’t transmigrated across three parallel worldlines, or if the current timeline hadn’t been arrested by the time-space police, Lucifer remembered that the name Kal’tsit was supposed to belong to the enemy commander whom Theresis had decapitated during the war.

But hadn’t she already been decapitated by Theresis?Full novel: Reincarnated As Blood Demon in Terra? Not Holy Terra Btw — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Otherwise, the war wouldn’t have ended so quickly.

No, wait, bro.

Are you some kind of survival king?

Or did someone reanimate you with Edo Tensei?

“Isn’t she supposed to be dead?

Can she cast Monster Reborn too?”

And what kind of decent person revives right inside the enemy’s spawn pool?

Isn’t that just asking to be gang-beaten?

No, what was even stranger was why Theresa would recruit her as an advisor in an organization that was clearly of utmost importance.

“The Kal’tsit you’re talking about, is she the commander of the allied forces who died along with the previous Demon King, Igor, in that war?”

Ermengarde leaned in with a face full of curiosity.

Although she hadn’t personally experienced or witnessed that war, she was quite curious about the events leading up to and following it.

The most famous of these were the Era of Six Heroes that gave birth to Kazdel, and the twin Demon Kings recognized by the Black Crown.

Though Theresis had ultimately handed the Black Crown over to Theresa.

“It’s her, alright.

I heard Demon King Theresa has already met with this advisor.

Who knows, maybe that Kal’tsit is the kind of monster that can save their game and revive infinitely!”

Even Warfarin had never heard of a rumor where someone truly rose from the dead.

“Whoa…

that’s unheard of…

I have to write this down…”

Ermengarde’s eyes lit up, and she promptly pulled a pen and paper out of her void rift to record what had happened to Kal’tsit.

After all, not even the repository of knowledge and history managed by the Lich clan had any record of such an occurrence.

“Gwah!”

Lucifer immediately called cheats!

Isn’t this bugged ability something only reserved for the protagonist’s plane of existence?

Where was the world’s will?

Is there no admin managing this?

“How are we even supposed to play thi— Wait…”

Lucifer immediately wanted to take Ermengarde and Warfarin and flee to the ends of the earth.

But he quickly realized that since Kal’tsit had been cut down by Theresis, her raw strength didn’t seem to be up to par.

Even if she possessed immortality, without the backing of the allied coalition, Kal’tsit was nothing to write home about—just a prisoner of Kazdel.

“That actually makes sense…”

Only logic that could withstand scrutiny was the true truth, and Lucifer trusted his beastly instincts implicitly.

His supreme intellect beginning to work, Lucifer fell into deep thought.

“If that’s the case, then Theresa beating that Kal’tsit to her knees must be to force her back…”

“I feel like if you keep talking, this segment won’t pass censorship.”

Warfarin, one of the few who could align on the same wavelength as Lucifer, stopped him in the nick of time.

Although Warfarin hadn’t seen much of Theresa, she didn’t seem like the type of person who would do something like that.

Warfarin tilted her head, looking back at Lucifer.

“So, are you going to join that Babel thing?

The Demon King herself will apparently be handling Babel’s affairs in person.

Opportunities to work with Theresa don’t come by often.”

There were countless people in Kazdel who admired and worshipped Theresa.

Being able to work alongside her was considered a supreme honor by many.

“Human nature can’t withstand temptation.”

Lucifer made a casual offhand remark, leaving Warfarin and Ermengarde at a loss for how to respond.

Although Lucifer had a slight soft spot for Theresa, it wasn’t enough to make him compromise his slacking-off nature.

As for Kal’tsit, Lucifer couldn’t say he had any deep-seated hatred for her.

After all, he had never even seen what she looked like, only knowing she was a Feline.

But if it weren’t for her, Lucifer wouldn’t have been welcomed to Terra with the starter pack of getting slashed and blasted right after transmigrating.

“Anyway, I have no interest in participating.

It’s too much trouble.”

“Aw, but I kind of want to go take a look…”

Ermengarde, who was still writing with her pen and paper, suddenly poked her head out and looked at Lucifer with expectant eyes.

However, she didn’t want to jump ship to work at Babel either; she just wanted to pay it a visit.

But going alone would be way too boring, wouldn’t it?

Lucifer looked the fully-limbed Ermengarde up and down, offering a sharp critique:

“…Don’t you have legs?”

“Oh, come on, I want you to accompany me.”

“A very tempting proposal—but I decline.”

“Huh?!”

Although Ermengarde had expected Lucifer to reject her, she hadn’t anticipated him being so brutally direct.

“Do you really hate that Kal’tsit?”

“It’s not that extreme.

Mostly, my laziness is acting up.”

With that, Lucifer picked a comfortable spot and sank onto the sofa, completely slacking off.

“Now that you mention it, I kind of feel…”

As a fellow Sanguine, Warfarin felt the call of instinct.

And just like that, there was one more Sanguine slumped on the sofa.

“You guys…”

Ermengarde was left completely speechless.

Was this really the daily routine of Sanguines?

It was so “disciplined” that she felt they’d end up as two perfectly healthy corpses in a few hundred years.

Out of options, Ermengarde had to resort to the signature skill she had mastered in Leithanien: negotiating.

“How about I offer you two…

no, three more bottles of Lich blood?”

If it were the Lucifer who had first met Ermengarde, he might have agreed.

But now, he already had two bottles of Lich blood in stock.

And the blood of such unique races held a certain collector’s value.

Once there was too much supply in the market, it would lose its value as a collectible.

“If it’s not a pure-blood Wendigo’s, I don’t want it.”

“Ugh…”

The girl’s blush was more telling than any reply.

The Wendigos had long since migrated as a whole clan to Ursus.

Where on Terra was she supposed to fetch the blood of a pure-blood Wendigo?

By now, Ermengarde knew she probably couldn’t persuade Lucifer.

And she wasn’t the type to force others anyway.

Though she had even let Lucifer touch her “Void”!

“Sigh, looks like I’ll just have to go visit Babel and that Kal’tsit person by myself.”

Ermengarde quickly packed her bags, temporarily said goodbye to the two lazy Sanguines, and set off for Babel’s headquarters.

Watching Ermengarde close the old wooden door of the house, Lucifer felt absolutely no emotion in his heart.

He really didn’t want to go to Babel, and Ermengarde couldn’t offer him any benefits that would seduce him into agreeing.

If it were a mature beauty like Theresa or Llamarein, Lucifer’s preferences might have kicked in, and he might have agreed.

But Ermengarde…

her appeal was even lower than Warfarin’s.

Lucifer could only wish her the best of luck.

For now, he just had to trust the process.

Lost in thought, Lucifer turned his head to look at Warfarin, who was slumped in the exact same lazy slouch on the sofa as him.

Then, he kicked her right off his sofa.

“Oof!”

“You shameless parasite.

Who said you could lie on my sofa?

Go back to your own place.”
