The Golden Sun Realm was an Emerald Eternal Breach—a breach that would stay open until the core was either destroyed or the world problem was resolved.
Once you entered the realm, you would land on the mainland, and around it was a vast sea of ocean.
After the government did some reading about the sea, they found it was dangerous, so no one dared to move toward it.
High above were multiple islands, one after another, each having everything from forests to older civilizations. And high above this all were five suns shining bright in the sky.
On one of the islands, a floating island was falling toward the island where Lucas and the Silver Rain guild were.
But Lucas was quick on his feet, and with the help of other Awakened in the guild, they were able to leave the island before a boom echoed around the breach as two islands crashed into each other.
The impact was big enough to affect multiple islands because of the shockwave it caused, and it also forced the Silver Rain guild back by three islands before they could reach the island of the temple.
Worst of all, two of the three islands had just slammed into each other, and they were crashing into the ocean below.
High above, in the sun-filled sky, cracks were already forming around the sun, and the cloud was above it. But the darkness was using the sun to block anyone from looking up to see anything except stars as the big sun at the center was at its limit. The darkness continued to rush out of the sun, and the sun started to grow dimmer and dimmer.
Just then, the remaining suns released multiple chains made of condensed sunlight toward the dark cloud, trying to wrap it and stop it from escaping.
A roar escaped from the beast inside the cloud, but it was swallowed by the suns who were trying to stop the dark cloud from escaping.
Meanwhile, a train was speeding through the district on its way to District 2.
Orson had just removed his blindfold, but he could still feel it—the taste of blood in his mouth. But thanks to the memories of Orson, he understood a lot now. And even Corvin too. Weird enough, Corvin was his best friend, but with what the guy had been doing to him, he doubted his memories.
Just then, Orson heard a voice in his head as he looked down at the new screen that had just appeared.
[You have slain a Crimson human.]
Orson looked at it.
Wow. Just wow. He gets the system, and the first thing it does is remind him of his guilt.
But Orson just turned the system off. He had his way of dismissing the screen that appeared.
He looked at Corvin, who was examining the ring that Orson had given him. Orson kept the ring he took as the man’s spoils of war and the ring his wife had given him to himself, and gave Corvin the third ring he got from the man he killed.
He looked at Orson, who had opened a portal and was examining his spoils.
Corvin looked up. "Hey, Orson, the Ravager core looks to have lost some of its glow. Are you sure you did not damage it?"
Orson looked at Corvin. "What exactly would I have done to it?"
Corvin wanted to say something, but nothing came out.
As the train moved toward the district, after reaching District 2, Orson was not really tired. After entering Qi Gathering realm, his body felt refreshed, and he was also happy because unlike when you enter the realm, you leak impurities out of your body, and Orson was not keen on walking home dirty.
But thankfully, the lightning had evaporated the impurities away from his body. But Orson felt like he needed a bath, so he and Corvin went their separate ways after Corvin said he would find a buyer and send Orson’s cut.
When they got to District 2, the district was already snowing as the sun was rising to the sky. He was going home with his memories, and thanks to that, he did a lot of thinking on his way.
First was Lenora. According to the news, an Azure closed breach opened in one of the big cities in the south. But that was the problem. At first, it just looked like an Indigo open breach, but after the Pre-mount Guild entered, it turned into a closed breach. And just like its name, it was a terrifying breach.
There are different branches in this world. First is the open breach—a breach that opens and releases wave after wave of monsters. Closing it was simple: you enter and kill the boss, or wait till it stabilizes and the boss himself comes out. The open breach was easy enough to close.
The second was a closed breach. Just like its name, it was a breach that just appeared. No monster or beast came out of it, and it was like an Eternal Breach, but that was the trap.
When it opens, it just looks like any other, but once people enter, getting out is impossible unless you defeat the monster boss inside.
Closed breaches were good for getting system rewards because it was a closed branch, but they were also dangerous. They could be small like a dungeon or big and vast like a continent, and worst of all, once you enter, you can’t come out until you succeed in closing it.
And the last was an Eternal Breach, which was what Orson had just left.
So the Pre-mount thought it was an open breach, but it was not. Every member of the Storm Saint Guild was killed in that breach, but the Storm Saint survived, and according to the news, she later succumbed to her injuries and died.
But most main families knew the truth. Since Lenora was of no use to the Sloane family, they used her to build an alliance with the Mercer family to try to hold onto their power.
Orson looked up as he realized he had reached home after thinking for a long time.
He opened the door of his home and stepped inside. The house was big and cold and quiet—like no one was at home. The lights were even turned off, and the curtains were stopped from letting light enter.
Orson looked around. Before, he would have just looked, not knowing what to do. But now he did.
So Orson went to the back of the house where small trees were growing. He used his tier 3 sword to slice down a tree—it cut like butter—and used it to heat up the house. He placed it in the heating stable to warm the house, then opened the curtains, allowing sunlight into the windows.
Before going to the kitchen, Orson was hungry. Weird enough, both Orson’s memories and Xander’s memories showed that they knew how to cook. So he prepared something based on Orson’s memories of food and Xander’s cooking skill. I mean, Xander was an immortal, so his cooking was leagues better than Orson’s.
After cooking, he looked down at his steaming hot soup. It looked good.
After that, Orson walked toward the main room, and as he entered, he found Lenora on the floor, looking up at the ceiling with two takeaway plates on the floor. The room was a mess, and there were bottles of drinks everywhere.
Lenora looked at Orson as he entered, and Orson looked back and saw it.
She was looking at him with the same cold he felt. Like she was looking into the void with her eyes, and Orson knew that look better than enough. It was the look of the void—the same void that made him kill a whole empire to fill it.
