When Zane cut through the illusion, they were shocked to see what was in front of them.
The area was quiet. It looked like it was burned. Bones were scattered around. It smelled like dead animals, and all the trees and grass were dead. The only thing that was in front of them was an entrance to a dungeon.
"What is this? Is this the area they saw?" Maria asked.
They first looked around to see if they could find Sandra’s father, but what they saw was nothing but monster bones.
"It seems there is no one here. The only thing that is left is this large door," Zane said while looking at the large door of the dungeon.
"Are you guys sure about this? Of course I am feeling dark mana coming from this door," Mariana said while taking two steps back.
"Well, let’s find out..." Joshua said while pushing the door.
The moment they entered, they were transferred to a cold area.
"This snow and mana... it’s the same as what I felt in the city," Zane said while grabbing some snow from the ground.
"Do you mean this dungeon is affecting the city? But how, when the distance is so long?" Maria said.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
"Mmm... there is a battle nearby," Mariana said.
They rushed toward where the sounds were coming from.
"Everyone retreat! I repeat, everyone retreat, we can’t win this battle!" An old man shouted while retreating.
"Who are they?" Zane asked.
"That... That’s the City Lord," Mariana said while she froze looking at the City Lord and the others running away.
They started running toward them to help.
STONE BULLET!
BOOOOM!
Zane attacked the monsters that were attacking the City Lord.
"Are you okay, old man?" Zane asked the City Lord while smiling.
"We need to leave this dungeon now! The monsters in this dungeon have evolved into demons and demon beasts!" The City Lord shouted while running away and holding Zane’s hand.
"Huh? Are you okay, old man? These small mobs are the ones you are saying turned to demon beasts?" Zane removed his hand and looked deep inside the dungeon.
"Let’s go, guys!" Joshua shouted.
They started fighting the small monsters they saw, which shocked them because they kept wondering why the City Lord and his team were running from them in unity.
"Huh? Hey guys, come look at this!" Joshua shouted.
They went and saw an altar that had blood all over it and around it. There were people who were sitting around it dead, wearing black robes just like what the previous investigator saw.
"Huh... is this what the City Lord was running from?" Zane asked while looking around.
"I think so, but what’s so special and scary about this?" Mariana said while touching one of them, and then...
GHRRR-GAK-KKKHH!
One of the bodies roared, and all of their eyes turned red and changed to ash. The blood that was on the altar started boiling and started flowing deep into the dungeon. It started to increase and started flowing fast, and then there was total silence.
"What’s going on?!" Zane shouted.
"I just touched it and this started to happen!" Mariana replied.
"AAAA!" Maria screamed from the back.
When they turned around and checked what was happening, the whole area was frozen, the temperature dropped, and snow started falling.
"What?! How can snow fall inside the dungeon?" Mariana asked.
When they looked, Maria had been frozen, and the blood that was flowing into the deep of the dungeon froze.
FIRE TORNADO!
FWOOOSH!
CRACK!
Maria was unfrozen by Zane’s attack.
"What happened, Maria?" Joshua asked.
"A drop of water just fell out of nowhere and I froze..."
STEP.... STEP.... STEP...
"For you to be able to defroze my ice, you are stronger than you look, kid." A deep voice came from the dark deep in the dungeon.
They all prepared to attack.
"How did he reach near us? I didn’t sense him," Zane started questioning himself.
A humanoid monster started coming from the darkness. It had long, colorless, tall hair. It had legs like a human, long legs and hands like a human, and a head like a cheetah covering its mouth with an ice mask. Its body was covered with ice.
"Why are you on guard? You came to fight me, right?" it said while opening its eye.
Out of nowhere, it disappeared and appeared behind Mariana because she was the weakest. The monster smiled while preparing to cut Mariana’s head off, and Zane followed with Heavenly Dragon Step.
BOOM!
Their swords collided above Mariana’s head.
"Interesting... You were able to keep up with my speed, and also able to damage my sword. What kind of sword is that?" it said while moving backward and looking at its sword.
"Why don’t you find out!" Zane said while charging toward the monster.
Maria and Joshua also charged toward it.
"Well--well... look at that, I just finished my 1 vs 30, and now another 1 vs 4. It is interesting," it said while making a big smile and said, "Come at me with all you got, humans!"
They attacked together, but the monster dodged, and then.....
BOOM!
It hit Joshua in the ribs, blasting him into the wall.
Zane and Maria continued to attack, but it started teleporting using snow drops.
"You are annoying, do you know that?" Zane said while turning around and looking at it.
"Woah~~ It seems I hit a nerve," the monster said while laughing.
"Hey Maria, could you give me some space and look after Joshua? You too, Mariana," Zane said.
"Mmm... are you serious right now?" Maria shouted.
"Just do what I say!" Zane shouted back.
"Why... " Mariana shouted while been confused because the monster was to strong for them.
"You should start leaving now!" Zane shouted.
Maria looked at Zane and realized his face was far more serious than when he fought the wolves.
"Fine, but we are not leaving," she sighed.
Maria and Mariana picked up Joshua and took cover behind the rocks.
"Are you done with your touching conversation?" the monster said while yawning.
"Yeah.. How about we Finish this" Zane shouted while preparing to attack.
