Zane, Maria, and Gloria went to an inn that Maria knew well, as she had visited the city many times before.
Arthur, on the other hand, didn’t sleep. He was busy trying to figure out what was happening in the city. The demon that had been killing people on Street 30 consumed everything except blood, whereas this new one was primarily drinking blood.
He spent the entire night scanning the city and concluded that someone was bestowing power upon others. Worse, the people being granted this power were local citizens of the city.. a detail that could backfire on his claim to the throne if his rivals claimed he was executing his own people.
"Ah... This is troublesome. Why did Father send me here? This is going to be difficult," Arthur muttered, sitting on the edge of his bed and staring at the floor.
"Maybe we should find the one who is giving them power, Young Master," John suggested, standing near the door.
"Yeah, I know. But their leader’s aura is strong, and if a fight breaks out, it could destroy the surrounding buildings. Besides, we don’t even know who is leading them yet," Arthur said, leaning back onto the bed.
"Prince Arthur, can I talk to you?" a voice echoed through the room.
"Who is this?!" John demanded, gripping his sword.
"Why don’t we sit down and talk nicely?" the voice rang out again.
"Mmm..." Arthur opened his eyes as the sound echoed once more.
He swiftly grabbed his golden sword resting beside the bed.
"My, oh my, you’re a fast one, aren’t you?"
"When did you get here?!" Arthur called out, jumping back toward John.
Perched on the window sill was a girl dressed entirely in red. Her eyes were pitch black, marked with crimson rings.
"You didn’t want to answer my servant nicely, so I thought I should come by in person. Can we talk now?"
"Why would I talk to a demon?" Arthur replied, steadying his breath.
"You know you don’t stand a chance, right? So why don’t we do this the easy way?" she asked, the rings in her dark eyes shifting and turning to gold.
"Who decided that?"
"Huh... So you want to do this the hard way? Fine, don’t blame me," she said, standing up.
"What do you mean by that?" Her expression darkened.
Without another word...
SLASH!
The girl gasped in shock. "You really are a ruthless man, aren’t you?" she smiled, resting a hand on her chin. "But tell me... when did you realize?"
"The moment John claimed there was no one on Street 25, and when he said he sent guards to search the city," Arthur said calmly. "When I came to this city, I came with John alone. On top of that, when we were on the rooftop, the real John never touched his sword around me. He also would have noticed those three people who entered the city earlier."
"Wow... You’re much sharper than I thought. Well, it doesn’t matter anymore, since the Boss told us to eliminate you before you ruin our plans," she said, shaking her head as her hands hovered in the air.
BOOM!
"Kate, why don’t you shut your mouth for once?!" another man shouted, bursting through the shattered door.
"Ahhh... Sorry, Vance! My mouth slipped," she giggled, covering her mouth with her hand.
"So, did you tell him what Madam said?" Vance asked, glaring at Arthur.
"Well, not yet, but he already figured us out! Can you imagine?" she replied, stepping toward Arthur.
"Ah... Hey, cheeky boy, our Madam said if you want to live, leave this city. If not..." Vance’s face turned grim.
"If not what? You’re going to kill me? This is my kingdom.. so let’s see you try!" Arthur declared, resting his sword casually across his shoulder with a wide grin.
Then..
FWOOOOOOOSH!
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
A massive surge of aura burst from Arthur, tearing through the roof of the room as a pillar of golden light shot straight into the night sky.
At the inn, Zane sighed as he finished his early morning push-ups. "Ah... It seems they’ve started," he muttered, standing up and grabbing a bottle of water.
"What insane pressure...!" Kate gasped, blown backward by the sheer force radiating from Arthur.

"So, now that the tables have turned, why don’t you take me to your master?" Arthur said, leaping down from the ruined top floor.
"You don’t deserve to be in our Madam’s presence!" Vance roared, charging headlong at Arthur.
"Mmm... It seems you still don’t understand the situation, do you?" Arthur said quietly.
FWOOOOOOOSH!
Arthur flared his intense killing intent, causing the disguised demon imposter posing as Vance to faint instantly on the spot.
"Ah... So weak," Arthur said, scratching his head. "John, how did you get killed by idiots like this...?"
BZZT... BZZZT... BZZZZT!
FWOOOOOOOSH!
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
A tremendous burst of aura intertwined with crackling lightning erupted from Vance.
"Ah, now I understand how he died. At least he didn’t get taken out by total weaklings. Give me a good fight!" Arthur shouted, watching Vance descend from above, enveloped in flashing lightning.
"Hey, aren’t you going to join him? It’ll be disappointing if you don’t jump in too, you know," Arthur added, glancing over at Kate.
"Well, if you insist," Kate replied, unleashing her wind magic.
Her attire shifted into vibrant green garments, her ears elongated into sharp points, her eyes turned solid gold with black rings, and her hair lengthened into a flowing crimson mane.
Meanwhile, Zane made his way to Maria’s and Gloria’s rooms to wake them up so they could watch the battle and learn from it.
They then went and sit on top on the city clock.
This is going to be fun Arthur said while preparing to attack.
