ROSALIA’S POV
“Ms Moncaro?” I heard a familiar voice call me.
“Nigel,” I said his name as I walked down the hall.
I figured he’d come from Helio’s room.
“Helio should be coming soon I was helping him get dressed.”
“Okay,” I replied.
“No, I wanted to talk to you actually,” he said to me.
“Yes?”
“To thank you actually,” he went on.
“I know you did it for your own reasons. but thank you for saving him,” he told me.
“I didn’t do from the kindness in my heart,” I preficed.
“Nonetheless, thank you” he said.
I didn’t reply and continued moving.
I paused after he left.
I bit my lip and continued walking after a moment.
“Rosalia,” I heard Helio’s familiar call my name.
I turned to find him coming toward me.
He was dressed in a fine black suit.
He looked very different compared to the he’s in sentinel uniform.
His hair was slicked back and tied in a neat man bun.
His hands fiddled with the suit jacket.
For some reason he looked like a fish out of water.
I tried not to laugh.
“Why do you look so uncomfortable in that suit?”
“Because it is uncomfortable. It’s not as practical as my sentinel uniform,” he complained.
He unbuttoned it again and and I caught a glimpse of his knives underneath
“Of course it’s not going to fit right if you try to shove all that shit in there,”
“I have to take them with me at all times,” he said.
“Promise you me you wont resort to violence no matter what happens in the meeting.” I asked him.
“Depends” He asked offended.
I cocked an eyebrow at him.
“Really?”
“What?” He said as if oblivious and innocent.
“Promise me.” I said sternly.
“Okay, I promise,” he accepted.
“There has never been a wolfless Alpha,” the elderly man barked out as he glared at Helio.
“There is no law that states an Alpha can’t be Wolfless,” I argued.
“There’s no law that states a pig can’t be the Alpha either, does everything need to be written down?” He retorted.
We were seated in a meeting room of the mansion, waiting for the High priest to arrive and confirm my ability.
There were three men in attendance.
Gabriele, the old man and another man who appeared to be in his late 40s wearing a lentil uniform.
“Remind me again who this is?” I whispered to Helio.
As the man continued barking.
“That’s Luiz Perez, he was my father’s Beta and right hand man. He’s retired and an advisor to Salvador now. The other guy beside Gabriele is Ernesto the commander of the sentinels.”
“This pack is going to be ruined. A dynasty that ruled for decades. Do you have any idea how many wolves are employed and their entire livelihood is dependant on Salvador? All for that balance to rocked by some idiot!” Luiz shouted.
Gabriele was irritated but kept quiet.
He and Enersto continuously whispered to each other suspiciously.
I wondered what they were saying.
“The Temple Keeper will be arriving soon we should reserve our comments for then.
“You’re saying if they confirm she has powers they are free to rule the pack!” He yelled.
“You can’t be serious.”
Helio kept a calm serious expression as he glared at Luiz.
“I can learn.” Helio replied.
“And I can help him. I studied law and pack business management at university so I can offer advice,” I supported him.
“What so we’ll be managed by a woman and he’ll be your puppet?” He snapped.
“Absolutely not.”
My lips pressed together at that.
That’s right I recalled.
I’m only supposed to be a tool using my powers for others.
I wasn’t supposed to rule.
“Ms Moncaro
My eyes widened and I looked at him.
The doors suddenly opened.
A middle aged woman entered.
She had long blonde, greying hair She looked grief stricken as her eyes scanned the room.
When they landed on Helio her face darkened.
“You killed my son!” She said walking toward him.
“Shit,” I heard Helio mutter to himself.
I glanced his way.
“Lorenzo’s mother,” he whispered to me. This story is hosted at g.com.
“Why is he still alive?
Why isn’t he dead
The sentinels surrounding the room came forward and grabbed Lorenzo’s mother.
“Let me go!” She struggled against their hold.
“Lady Salvador, please,” Gabriele tried to calm her down.
You should have left with that whore of a mother all those years ago.”
As if we didn’t have enough people who were against Helio as is.
“Sir, the temple Keeper has arrived,” he informed Gabriele.
“Bring him in here,” Gabriele ordered.
************** TEMPLE KEEPER SCENE
Luiz eyes narrowed as he glared at Helio.
“This whole thing stinks.
You stole this woman from the Ramirez Pack, forced her to bond you and then you kill Alpha.
Now you want to be
“Regardless of what you think happened it doesn’t change the fact that I am a contender
“The reality gentlemen is Salvador needs a leader and my education and power can be of considerable help
“Why have you been defending him so much?” Ruiz questioned me.
“Didn’t he take you from your fiancé?”
“He did but Helio is also misunderstood,” I said to Luiz.
“Refrain from talking to my mate in such a manner,” Helio said grabbing my waist and pulling me closer to him.
“I don’t know how he seduced you but he’s a fraud and an usurper,” Luiz tried to convince me.
Gabriele and the Sentinel commander looked at each other.
“Rosalia is now confirmed to have the power she is and I have Salvador blood
I walked out of the office and tried to listen in as best as I could.
The point wasn’t to convince Salvador that Helio is the best option for Alpha.
They don’t.
Its to convince them to give him the position.
What happens afterward is a separate issue.
“Think you sold it to them?” I asked once he was out.
“I think so,” he replied and we made our way
“The whole of Spain is going to now going to find out about your power,” he told me.
“There’s no going back now is there?” I replied.
**************
It was late in the evening that Helio and I were called back into the meeting room.
“Salvador was a good Alpha you will never be even half as good
“And yet you’re going to have to bow to me now,” Helio replied.
Luiz glared at Helio but kept mov
