On the third floor, the two searched as they moved forward, but did not encounter anything.

Alan Han thought to himself, basic stuff.

Leon picked up the Spade Key on the table and tried to stuff it into his bulletproof vest.

It was… already a bit too full.

Alan Han smiled at the sight.

Classic inventory crisis.

Every Resident Evil player goes through this.

Recalling the layout from memory, Alan Han turned a few corners and retrieved a hip pouch located on the third floor.

“Hey, Leon, stop cramming things in.

Your bulletproof vest is practically a whole extra layer now.

Take this.”

Leon accepted it and gave Alan Han a grateful look.

Oh.

That was unexpectedly cute.

After watching Leon adjust the hip pouch, Alan Han continued forward.

They reached an area blocked by piled-up debris.

Leon picked up a report lying on top.

“Licker?

So we are supposed to crawl slowly like an old lady to get past?

That sounds dangerous.”

Alan Han wondered whether the person who left this message had survived.

And he was even more curious which David had left it.

“Look, Han.

There is something in that statue’s abdomen.

That should be the medallion we need.

But this cage is tough.”

Leon kicked the door a few times.

Aside from shaking loose some dust, it did not budge at all.

Alan Han pointed at the C4 Explosive stuck nearby.

“Leon, take it easy.”

Leon followed his gaze and carefully pulled his leg back.

“Good thing the C4 Explosive is stable.

But we still have no way to detonate it.

Who put this here anyway?”

“Who knows.

Probably some kind-hearted officer.

We should thank him.

Amen.”

Leon looked at Alan Han, who was acting playful, and felt a bit helpless.

It seemed they now had even more things to find, like a detonator.

They opened a door that connected to the library.

At that moment, the police radio crackled to life.

“Leon, I need you back here as soon as possible.

I… cough…”

“Marvin, are you alright?”

“I have something to show you.

It is very important.”

“Understood.

I am on my way.”

Leon and Alan Han exchanged a glance and hurried downstairs toward the lobby.

Avoiding the wandering zombies, they reached a door.

It required a Spade Key.

Leon took it out from his hip pouch.

“See, Han.

This is the benefit of not overlooking any clue.”

Alan Han clicked his tongue.

“Alright, you win, Officer.”

As he spoke, he glanced at the red book on the nearby table and quietly slipped it into his bulletproof vest.

Leon opened the door.

On the other side was the lobby, unlocking a shortcut.

He stepped out and quickly made his way down to Marvin.

“Oh, you are here.

Take a look at this.”

Marvin held his wound, which was still bleeding despite being bandaged.

His face was pale.

As Leon approached, Marvin pointed at a monitor showing footage from the back door.

“That is great.

I knew she would be fine.”

Leon smiled as he saw Claire on the screen.

“You know her?”

Marvin asked.

“Yes.

Her name is Claire.

We came here together.”

Marvin took a heavy breath and explained the shortcut to the back door.

Just as Leon was about to leave, he paused and looked back.

“Thank you, Chief.”

Marvin waved his hand without saying anything.

Alan Han sighed quietly.

Taking care of an injured old man was not easy.

Following Leon, they used the Spade Key to open another door.

Looking at the banner hanging overhead, Alan Han could not help but remark,

“Leon, they were really looking forward to your arrival.”

The “Welcome, Leon” banner hung above them.

Leon fell silent.

It had felt emotional even in the game.

Now, standing here in person, it hit even harder.

Leon picked up the letter left for him by Marvin and the others.

“…Yeah.

I should have come earlier.

They even left me a lock to open.”

“So, are you going to do it?”

Leon held the edge of the letter.

“Of course.”

He pressed his lips together and turned the letter over.

In the bloodstains, a hurried line was written: “Glad you are not here, rookie.”

Officer Leon S.

Kennedy reporting for duty.

Alan Han placed a hand on Leon’s shoulder.

At that moment, this rookie officer had not only lost the colleagues he was supposed to meet, but had also stepped into a world far more dangerous than being a police officer.

On Leon’s resolute yet slightly inexperienced face, something flickered.

Under the dim beam of the flashlight, a faint glimmer appeared at the corner of his eye.

Leon put away the letter.

In the seemingly safe office, he carefully studied the names of each officer, memorized their initials, and unlocked his desk.

At that moment, a zombie dressed like a police officer crawled out from a cubicle and slowly staggered forward.

Leon raised his gun quickly, but his finger hovered over the trigger, hesitating.

A gunshot rang out.

The zombie’s head burst from behind, and it collapsed.

Leon turned and saw Alan Han holding his gun.

“I will help you this time, Leon.

Go check your locker.

See what they left you.

Leave the zombies to me.”

Standing beside him, Alan Han spoke calmly, then stepped forward and systematically shot the remaining bodies in the head before they could rise, creating a barely safe space.

Leon murmured a quiet thanks and opened the locker.

Inside was an extended handgun magazine.

Next to it was a nameplate with Leon’s name on it.

“Wow… they were really thoughtful.

This could save my life.”

Looking around the now secure office, Leon took out the extended magazine, loaded the bullets into it one by one, then inserted it into his pistol.

“Let us go, Han.

I found what was meant for me.”

Alan Han glanced at him, nodded, and followed him back to the lobby.

They returned to the east side of the second floor, preparing to find Claire.

Opening the door, they entered what seemed to be an office.

On the table lay a Raccoon City guide, detailing the police station and an orphanage among other places.

After quickly searching nearby rooms, Alan Han followed his memory from the game and picked up the Weapons Locker Key Card from a stool.

He then looked at the statue nearby.

It matched the one in the photo exactly.

Leon picked up the Statue’s Left Arm from the table beside it.

“Looks like we still need to find a book.”

Alan Han grinned and pulled a book out from inside his bulletproof vest.

“I learned it from you, Leon.

That spirit of exploration.”

Leon took the book and joked,

“You have already mastered it.

Do not forget to pay your tuition.”

After attaching the Statue’s Left Arm, the statue began to move.

After rotating, the Scepter in its hand dropped down.

Leon picked it up, examined the mechanism, and a Red Jewel fell out.

Alan Han searched his memory.

This Red Jewel was not very useful early on, but later it was one of the required items to obtain the Lightning Hawk.

Leon placed it into his hip pouch and prepared to continue toward the back door with Alan Han.
