Reward: Tyrant Guard
“Tyrant Guard?”
Adrian froze for a second.
He knew exactly what Tyrants were.
They were Umbrella’s most imposing biological weapons.
“System, introduce the composition of the Tyrant Guard.”
He took a breath, forced down his excitement, and asked the question.
As one of Umbrella’s trump cards, the Tyrant series had undergone constant improvements.
Each model was not necessarily a straight upgrade from the last, but every version had been optimized around different priorities.
Some leaned toward speed, some toward strength, and others toward intelligence.
Only by knowing the model and the numbers could he make the best arrangements.
A guard unit could not possibly consist of only one Tyrant.
[System]
Tyrant Guard Composition: Three Tyrant Squads + one Enhanced Ivan-type Tyrant
Tyrant Squad Composition: Ten Ivan-type Tyrants + one Enhanced Ivan-type Tyrant
Ivan-type Tyrants stood roughly six feet eleven in height.
In normal form, they wore long coats, masks, and head coverings.
To outsiders, they looked like a group of unusually tall men with strange fashion sense.
That meant Adrian did not need to worry about them being exposed in public.
In awakened form, however, they would still grow sharp claws.
The Ivan-type Tyrant was not a mass-production model.
It had been designed as a dedicated bodyguard for high-level personnel.
Its stability was excellent, and its ability to accept and execute commands was outstanding.
It was formidable in close combat and fully capable of using weapons.
Ivan-type Tyrants also possessed advanced combat instincts and could coordinate attacks with one another.
“System, what does enhanced mean? What aspect is strengthened?” Adrian asked, excitement rising in his voice.
Four Enhanced Ivan-type Tyrants were already impressive.
Thirty ordinary Ivan-type Tyrants were terrifying on their own.
A highly intelligent Tyrant unit was exactly what he needed to guard Umbrella.
The successful completion of the HIV/AIDS cure had created far too valuable a prize.
Next, corporate spies would certainly try to infiltrate the company.
Some forces might even try to seize it outright.
Adrian had been worrying about how to protect the company.
Now the system had handed him exactly what he needed.
[System]
Enhanced Ivan-type Tyrants: Possess absolute command authority over standard Ivan-type Tyrants, with further improvements in command reception and controllability.
“Just as I thought. The Enhanced Ivan-types are command units. Perfect.”
Adrian began planning how to deploy the three squads.
Used well, they would be enough to protect the company.
“Damn, damn, damn. I thought that news from a while ago was another overhyped expert claim. Turns out it was real.”
“I know that little girl. She got HIV from a transfusion three years ago. I even donated two hundred dollars. Can they really cure her?”
“I think I’ve seen the third man too. He was the unlucky one who caught it through a contaminated blood-donation scandal.”
“One of the hardest diseases in the world was conquered here. Looks like the next Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine belongs to us.”
“Has anyone heard of Umbrella before? This company is about to become an industry leader. I want to buy the stock.”
“Don’t be stupid. I checked. It isn’t listed. We lost before we even started.”
“Those cured patients are pitiful, but I still think most people who get HIV brought it on themselves.”
“Whatever happens, I hope the price for the United States is ten times higher.”
“Same. Let them feel what it is like when medicine is too expensive to afford.”
“I graduated from medical school. Does anyone know if Umbrella is hiring?”
While domestic networks argued and celebrated, news about the cure appeared all over the world.
[A New Harbor-based company, Umbrella Biopharmaceuticals, has successfully developed a cure for HIV/AIDS. After six days of treatment, twenty patients at different stages of the disease were successfully cured and returned to normal life. This marks the moment HIV/AIDS is no longer an unconquerable disease and signals a new chapter in human biotechnology. Adrian Cross, the scientist behind the breakthrough, may become the youngest Nobel Prize winner in history…]
Similar reports appeared across dozens of countries, on television, online platforms, news programs, and medical media.
Tens of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS, hundreds of millions of family members, and countless bystanders argued and hoped across every major platform.
They all wanted Adrian to bring the cure to market as soon as possible.
Johnson & Johnson in the United States, Bayer in Germany, GlaxoSmithKline in the United Kingdom, and other pharmaceutical giants urgently called shareholder meetings.
Every major player began planning its response.
Umbrella’s first shot in this world had made the whole world move.
