Stilwell spoke with practiced ease.

“I’m a broker with some reputation. Most of my business involves crude oil and gold. But right now, I think your medicine is worth more.”

“Oh?”

Adrian leaned back in his chair.

“My drug will create an enormous market, but the price can’t be set too high. Volume and the right price point are how we maximize profit.”

“Naturally.” Stilwell remained polite.

“But selling overseas through formal channels will take at least several months. Even domestic sales can’t begin that quickly, can they?”

“Domestic sales will begin within one month at most.”

“One month is enough. Provide me with five hundred doses of the treatment. I can sell them for at least $2.5 billion. In return, I give you ten percent of the profit. How does that sound?”

Stilwell understood very clearly that to charge an outrageous price, he needed two things.

First, his channels.

Second, Adrian’s cooperation.

Before the deal was finished, no one could know the real market release date.

The release date mattered more than the price.

His targets were the truly wealthy in the United States.

Their lives were decadent, and they had more money than they knew what to do with.

They would not care whether the price was in the millions, tens of millions, or even hundreds of millions of dollars.

They cared only about their own bodies.

If they could not determine when Umbrella would officially sell the cure, and someone suddenly told them he had the drug available, the outcome was obvious. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

“It seems you are very confident in your plan, Mr. Drew,” Adrian said with a faint smile.

“One month is something I can keep covered.”

In truth, he did not care about a mere five hundred doses, nor did he care how much Stilwell sold them for.

As for the month, the required approvals, distributor negotiations, and channel setup would take at least that long anyway.

All Adrian had to do was avoid announcing the release date early.

During their brief conversation, the Red Queen had already finished investigating the man in front of him.

On the surface, Stilwell Drew made his living brokering crude oil and gold.

In the shadows, he traded arms and other prohibited goods.

A man who lived on the edge like that could be useful.

When Red Umbrella was established, Adrian would have uses for him.

“Then you agree?” Stilwell could not keep the delighted smile off his face.

“Don’t worry. I’m an honest businessman. Within one month, at least $2.3 billion will appear in your account.”

On this single deal, he would earn at least two hundred million dollars.

It was absurd profit.

More importantly, it was simple.

Practically effortless money.

It was far easier than moving gold or crude oil.

“Come to the company tomorrow,” Adrian said.

After giving Stilwell his contact information and exchanging a few more words, he left.

The banquet was not the place to continue discussing business.

Soon after Adrian left, another white man appeared beside Stilwell.

“Billy, what do you think? Is that man from Umbrella reliable?” Stilwell asked, drawing a slow breath.

“Sorry, boss. I don’t understand business.” Billy shook his head, then paused.

“But I smelled danger on him. Without firearms, I may not be able to beat him.” You are reading on g.com, the official source.

“Are you sure? He’s supposed to be a biologist who runs a company. Unless… there’s information we don’t know.”

Stilwell frowned slightly, then smiled.

“This country really does hide surprises.”

No wonder Adrian dared to move around without bodyguards.

He was strong enough on his own.

In a country with tight firearm controls, being better than Billy in a fight was already enough to protect him.

But what did that have to do with their deal?

Stilwell intended to complete the contract properly.

Ruining a profitable partnership for a one-time grab was not part of his plan.

At that moment, the guests of honor, the Dubai prince and his wife, walked over.

Quite a few eyes in the room immediately shifted toward Adrian.

“Mr. Cross, during my time here, I have heard your name many times,” Prince Khatoum said directly.

“The new technology you developed may one day be applied to cancer, hepatitis, and other diseases that have long troubled humanity. Would you be interested in developing your career in Dubai?”

“Dubai is willing to provide you with one of the world’s most advanced biological laboratories, along with no less than five hundred million U.S. dollars in annual research funding.”

“I’m sorry, Your Highness,” Adrian said, a strange look passing through his eyes.

“I have no plans to develop overseas.”

This prince was interesting.

He had actually used a passed note to deliver the real message.
