‘Useless.’

Victor Quinn shook his head inwardly.

If Simon Grant could be frightened this badly by Cross, how was he supposed to serve as general manager later?

Since that worthless idiot could no longer be counted on, Quinn forced a smile back onto his face.

“Mr. Cross, there is no need to be an-”

“Not selling. Get out.”

Quinn’s expression twisted with anger.

He jabbed a finger toward Adrian and barked, “Kid, I’ve shown you too much respect already. Do you believe I can make your-”

Bang.

The kick sent Quinn’s heavy body flying into the wall.

A sharp hiss went through the room.

Quinn groaned once, then blacked out on the spot.

Everyone present stared in shock.

Was that even human?

Evelyn covered her mouth, eyes wide as she looked at him.

Even Adrian was startled by the force behind that kick.

He had always worked out, but this was impossible.

A man weighing more than two hundred pounds had been launched several yards into a wall by one casual kick.

The strength was absurd.

‘System, what is going on?’

He asked the question silently.

[System]

As the system’s host, you require the ability to protect yourself.

Host Status: Perfect t-Virus Evolver

A Perfect t-Virus Evolver.

After a complete fusion with the t-Virus, the body would undergo fundamental changes: greatly enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, intelligence, rapid healing, and even psychokinetic potential.

Good.

He could work with that.

His cold gaze shifted to Simon Grant.

Simon shuddered.

“M-Mr. Cross, please… please don’t hit me.”

The pathetic display filled Adrian with disgust.

He truly could not understand why his father had chosen this man as vice president.

“Throw that dead pig out,” he ordered the guards, nodding toward Quinn.

The remaining people from Oli Medical were terrified enough to leave without a fight.

Simon, of course, was fired on the spot.

Adrian did not let him leave immediately.

Instead, he ordered people to investigate his background.

After more than ten years inside the company, Simon could not possibly be clean.

During that same sweep, his lackeys were identified and purged one by one.

Sure enough, Simon Grant’s hands were dirty, and he had been far greedier than expected.

He had embezzled ten million dollars in company funds.

That was serious money.

Adrian called the police and ordered the legal department to sue.

Unless something extraordinary happened, Simon would spend at least a decade in prison.

Victor Quinn’s response surprised him a little.

The man left after throwing out a few threats and did not call the police.

If he was avoiding the authorities, then he was probably planning to use dirtier means to seize Umbrella.

‘Then I will deal with you properly next time.’

He was not afraid of whatever tricks Quinn might try.

He simply did not have time to care about him right now.

Oli Medical had been thrown out.

Simon Grant had been arrested.

Every one of his followers had been stripped from the company.

When the news spread, the office staff were not the only ones pleased.

Workers and technicians across the facility applauded it as well.

Those rotten pieces should have been cut out long ago.

Once everything was handled, Adrian gathered all employees together.

Umbrella had more than five hundred people on payroll, a respectable scale for its current position.

Most were cleanroom production-line workers.

Many had more than ten years of experience and were indispensable to the operation.

The R&D and testing departments were much smaller.

Pharmaceutical research did not improve simply by throwing more bodies at it.

Too many people could make development bloated and slow.

The remaining departments, including legal, finance, and security, made up roughly another hundred employees.

He brought them together for a temporary company meeting.

He knew that because of the debt ratio, many believed bankruptcy was coming and their jobs were at risk.

They needed reassurance.

Facing more than five hundred employees, he remained calm and almost cold.

“Most of you know who I am, so I will keep this short. You will receive every dollar you are owed. Payroll will continue as normal.”

“As for bankruptcy, Umbrella will not go bankrupt.”

“Within a few months, this company will come back to life. More than that, it will create a new era of its own.”

“I know many of you do not believe me. But one day, you will be proud to say you work for Umbrella.”

“Time will prove everything I have said.”

His tone was cool, but the confidence underneath it was impossible to miss.

That confidence left the employees stunned.

None of them understood where it came from.
