In the morning,

Akhil headed to college as usual.

He walked leisurely along the street, as he had arrived early than usual.Full novel: Restrained By Her Rules — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The blue sky stretched across the horizon, clouds drifting aimlessly through the bright morning sky.

He walked toward the path where the police station was located.

He had done it intentionally.

He wanted to strengthen his relationship with Divya.

As for remorse, he did not feel any.

He was only strengthening their relationships for ice cream or snacks, and he had no intention of exploiting her.

I’m a good person.

How could I exploit someone?

Just as he expected, Divya was parking her car by the roadside.

When she saw him, her eyes briefly flashed with several emotions before quickly returning to normal.

She waved at him with a smile, and Akhil waved back.

What he did not expect was that she started walking toward him.

He merely wanted to have a brief interaction with her, just to remind her that she had a friend named Akhil.

But this was completely unexpected.

Still, he walked toward her.

If he didn’t walk toward her, then their relationship might become strain.

He did not want that.

He wanted his continuous supply of ice cream.

She asked with a smile.

“Do you usually go to college at this time?”

Akhil shook his head and replied.

“No, I arrived early today.

Usually, I get here twenty minutes later.”

She nodded her head, mentally noting the time.

She then asked with a hint of expectation.

“Have you had breakfast?

If not, I am going to get some, you can join me.”

Akhil subconsciously touched his stomach, which was already full.

If he ate anything more, he might vomit up the food he had already eaten.

So, he declined,

“No, I already had some.”

Divya could barely hide her disappointment from showing on her face.

She nodded in understanding.

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and asked in a low voice.

“Do you have any plans this Saturday?”

She herself didn’t notice that she had lowered her voice.

Akhil didn’t think much of it, and answered in an even tone.

“Yes, my class leader signed me and my friends up for the hackathon competition.”

His voice became resentful toward the end.

“He did not even ask for our permission.”

Divya cursed the unknown class leader several times in her head.

“How dare he sign my Akhil up for some competition that my Akhil clearly doesn’t even want to join?”

“If I ever meet in the future, I should find some reason to arrest him.”

She huffed in anger.

“Because of that monkey, I can’t even invite my Akhil on a date?”

“Since when did he become mine?”

“I even dare to think that I could arrest someone who is clearly innocent just because he caused trouble and ruining my chance of having a date with Akhil.”

She was truly at a loss for words.

“When it comes to Akhil, I always seem to lose control and do things without restraint.”

“I just wanted him by my side.”

The moment she realized what she had just thought, she shook her head vigorously.

“No, I don’t want him.”

“Or love him.”

“He’s just handsome.

That’s all.

I was only admiring his face.”

“There is nothing wrong with me.”

She convinced herself with a lie that barely managed to suppress her dark thoughts.

“Hello?”

“Hello, Divya.”

“Snap out of it.”

Akhil shook her shoulder when she suddenly went still and stopped responding to his question.

She snapped out of her stupor.

Her eyes drifted toward his hand resting on her shoulder.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Her breathing grew ragged and heavy at his touch.

“He is touching me.”

Her thoughts were filled with disbelief and longing.

“What should I do?”

“Should I push him away?”

“No, no.”

“Why should I?”

“I don’t feel uncomfortable.

I don’t even feel disgusted.”

“Besides, we are friends.

If I push him away, he might get a bad impression of me.”

Her heartbeat quickened involuntarily, and a few beads of sweat formed on her face.

Akhil frowned when he saw this.

she seemed fine a few second ago, but now she was sweating and breathing heavily.

“Divya.”

Once again, Akhil’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

She shook her head and forced a smile.

“Yes.”

His face showed concern.

“Are you alright?”

Divya nodded her head.

“Yes, I’m fine.”

Akhil glanced at his watch, then looked at her.

“Okay.

See you, Divya.”

Divya nodded reluctantly.

Before he could turn around, she grabbed his sleeve.

He asked with a puzzled look on his face.

“Do you want to ask me something?”

Divya nodded and said.

“I think I have a day off this Sunday.

Do you want to go somewhere with me?”

Akhil was taken aback by her question, even more baffled by the situation.

Divya and he were considered friends, but hanging out alone together didn’t feel right.

Even he knew hanging out alone with a woman was not normal.

Hesitation appeared on his face as he wondered how to answer her.

He was about to politely decline her invitation.

She spoke, her voice carrying a hint of sadness.

“You know, even though I am rich, my life has been controlled by my parents since I was young.

I studied the way they wanted to, reduced my contact with my friends, and even learned to play musical instruments.

I just wanted someone I could talk to freely.”

Akhil expression turned troubled, and he even felt guilty.

He felt disgusted with himself.

“What a scumbag I am!”

“What would she think if I become closer to her only for ice cream?”

“She is just a pure girl.”

“She just wants to become my friend.”

“From now on, I have to become a good friend she can rely on.”

He lifted his gaze to her and said seriously,

“Okay, we can hang out this Sunday.”

Divya’s face lit up with happiness.

She took his hand and thanked him.

“Thank you so much.”

She thought inwardly.

“My”

She smiled and said,

“Akhil.”

Akhil suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

he looked around in puzzlement.

He simply let the matter drop, assuming it was just his imagination.

Divya’s smile became strangely terrifying for a moment as he looked away.

Of course.

What she said was definitely not true.

She knew Akhil was a soft-hearted person.

So, she used the sympathy card to make it difficult for him to refuse.

She would never let him leave.

Never.

Because…

He was hers.

Not even his parents or friends were allowed to separate him from her.

His very existence belonged solely to her.

Hee….
