"It is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth."

~***~

The bone of a dried human was being crafted, slight clinking sounds were made as she jammed the pebble against the bone. Her hair was matted dry and sticky, dust and dirt clinging to it making her unusual light brown hair turn dark mud. Her hands loosened on the bone and rock, which made them fall simultaneously on the dusty ground, and she raked her hair, trying to loosen the knots at the base.

Sweat dripped down her forehead right to her cheek, before sliding off into the ground. No, it wasn't sweat, it was tears. Her eyes rimmed red with tears; she sniffled using her inner elbow to lessen the sounds, but more muffled out.

The guards outside couldn't care less about why she was crying, after all, the tears are their fault. She tried as hard as not to let them know, but layers of sobs upon sobs wrecked her body until her throat got sore. Her eyes, even though it was tired...

Even though she wanted to sleep and wake up to all this being a dream, tears still dribbled down, marking the dust-filled ground with her sorrow and frustration.

'

'If only!' she screamed in her heart.

If only I had been a male child Pa and Ma wanted.

If only, as a female, I wasn't a disappointment to them.

If only I had known that I would be in this state, I wouldn't have fallen for that deceitful being.

If only I had never been born, then I wouldn't be like this.

Maybe, just maybe, I could have been born into another world with loving parents, and someone who would like me without wanting to get between my pants. But alas!! I might have been cursed by the gods to live a life of pain in this lifetime.

What is my wrong to deserve this treatment?!! For liking someone, is it now a crime!? Had I known... Oh! Had I known, I would have -

She cried in her heart, her eyes now tired of shedding tears, as she squatted low with her head in between her knees. The female looked weak, disheartened, and broken.

She looked so vulnerable.

She looked between her thighs, her bloodshot eyes glaring at the dried blood. A loud groan tore through her throat, working its way up into a cry when she looked at her thighs. She had been disv -

Her last shred of dignity had been stripped away from her, to be soiled with mud. Oh yes, they had cleaned up their evil doings, but as a female, she knew what had happened to her whilst she was unconscious.

...

She was walking around, barefooted on a grassed land, which grew up to her ankle as she ran through the field. A man was chasing after her with a big smile on his blurry face. The female ran to the middle of the field, stopping at a big, luscious tree. She stopped, panting before the man caught up with her and trapped her between his strong arms. His eyes looked at her with a loving gaze and she found herself squirming shyly under him.

The man spoke comforting words to her, words along the lines of 'It's okay, it's going to be alright, love. Lay down with me for a second and breathe in deep five seconds'

The female found herself in his trance as she did what she was told, lying on the grass with him by her side. He looked into her eyes, searching for something, one which he had found when he grabbed her waist and pulled her towards him. His head dipped low as his breath fanned her ears, making her shiver with anticipation and delight. Her brown eyes closed slowly as she waited for what she knew he was about to do. She waited and waited, and when she opened her eyes, he was nowhere to be seen.

The field was burning with furious flames, that spread rapidly towards her direction. Smoke blurred her eyes and throat, choking her after she stood up from where she lay and tried calling out to him. To who? She didn't know, neither could she remember, but she knew that there was someone she was waiting for.

Someone whom she was waiting for, who wasn't there with her.

A figure stood behind those flames, far away from her location, before he turned his back to her, leaving the flames to lick at her skin. She cried out to the male figure, but he didn't turn back; even when the flames devoured her, he didn't care. The female, as the flames licked viciously at her skin, called out a name one that she didn't know, but it seemed to have worked as the man paused to look back at her before he continued on his merry way.

...

The female had woken up disorientated, as she tried to pull in chunks of air into her lungs, greedily absorbing it.

'That man, who is he?'

She tried remembering what the male looked like but she couldn't. It was as if the innermost part of her mind knew who he was, but it locked up the image from her, only giving her a hint that she knew the man, but not letting her remember it. The female blew out a breath and she consoled herself that it was just a dream, that it wasn't real.

But then, that fire, what did it mean? Why did the male leave her to burn? She couldn't decipher the meaning of the dream, but what she knew was that the dream wasn't a good one. It foretold her that something terrible would happen if she wasn't careful.

It was a bad omen.

Pushing the thought of the dream aside, she tried moving, and that was when she felt soreness between her legs. Her breath got caught in her throat and her pupils shrunk into slits. She wasn't new to all these things; she had been taught, by her Ma about it. Even though the woman was not that of a motherly figure to her, she still taught her the basic things she should know. As such, she shakily dipped a finger into her core and withdrew it. Her mind blanched as she waited...

1,

2,

3 seconds.

Her eyes moved shakily when she saw the red liquid coating her fingers.'Had they -? No!' She sucked in a sharp breath as tears clouded her vision, making everything hazy. In her blurred vision, she saw her fingers shaking along with her body as a clear, translucent-like liquid dripped onto the floor. She brought her other hand unto her face, only to notice that she was crying. Those vile men had taken her virginity. Why though? Ah! She remembers now. Her Pa said that they could do whatever they wanted with her...

To her.

And - and they had raped her. That word left a bitter taste on her tongue and more of an imprint on her mind. The wronged female felt used - dirty - and as such, she wanted to just scrub herself free from it.

Hate and resentment bottled in her heart flared up like a raging fire, wanting to devour everything and anything in its path. She hated them, all of them. Her Ma, her Pa, the tribe members along with the Elders and Igwe, she wanted them to go down.

And her, her friend that was supposed to be there for her, sold her off, for what though? If she did sell her off, it was a reason she would never want to know, because when she would be done with that useless female, she would regret opening up her stupid mouth to gossip.

She wanted them to beg at her mercy, to suffer whilst they grovel for her favor. She would make their lives hell, even her former male, she would make him regret ever leaving her that day.

You think I'll let him destroy me and let him have a happy ever after? No damn way!

The female made a promise that day, that she would destroy them all and, even if she died in the process, it would be worth it.
