To prevent another confusion, the Clan Head (you could say governor) is different from an Igwe in the sense that the village is divided into tribes, meaning that it is heterogeneous.
That's how it is, but in this book, I just wanna clarify that the Igwe is just like the chief (president) of the every community in general. But the person who caught her with her male is her community or clan head — who reported her to the King/Igwe.
The isn't a 'government' here, but since the Igwe over sees all states and smaller communities, he is like the presido or sth😜
