"Ugh... I hate paperwork..." Yura grumbled as she leaned against me.
I chuckled and said, "Get used to it, Love. It's part of being a working member of society."
"Just because I'm used to it doesn't mean I can't hate it still."
"Fair, fair."
After about an hour, Yura finally finished her paperwork, so she'd immediately grabbed me and ducked out of the headquarters.
Her party members and her mentor were definitely nowhere near done, so they were stuck suffering from bureaucracy a bit longer.
But Yura was free now. Which meant WE were free now.
Though as for what 'free' means...
"So, what now, Love?"
"Huh?" Yura blinked and looked at me. "What do you mean? Don't you have any plans for us?"
"Well..." I looked around and saw we were back on Main Street. "Did you just wanna walk? It's..." I pulled out my phone to check the time. "...4 PM right now. We've been gone all day, so did you want to grab food?"
"F-Food? I was thinking... I mean, yes! Food's fine!"
I paused. Then I let out a teasing smile. "Oh, you're HUNGRY hungry."
"Shut up." Yura blushed and said, "It's your fault I'm like this anyway! A-And you kept working me up all day!"
"You say that, but we all know that's you~"
"Hmph!" Yura huffed. But then she side-eyed me and said, "...S-So... are we? Going to... you know?"
I kissed her chin and said, "Mm... Later. Let's reserve that for night. It's a bad habit to get into, you know?"
Yura pouted, but then she let out a soft sigh. "...That's true..."
I laughed and laced my fingers with hers. "Come on. Let's go on a proper date, Love. For now... Well, tell me more about your life before me."
Yura nodded and walked beside me. "Well..." She leaned her head on my shoulder and said, "...It was pretty normal. I mean, I was in a private Hunter Academy for school since I was small, but it's basically just a normal school plus training."
"Any boyfriends?"
Yura huffed and swatted my arm. "You WOULD ask me about that. But no." She gave me a shy smile and said, "...You're my first and only."
"..."
"H-Hey! You can't just be quiet like that! It makes me nervous!"
I smiled and said, "Sorry. I was just touched."
First and only, huh...?
That was sweet. Genuinely sweet.
"...I don't think I've been anyone's first and only before."
Yura's eyes widened. Then she let out a warm smile and said, "Really? I would have thought otherwise." She reached up to fix my dress shirt and said, "You're good at blending in... but if you dressed up a bit, nobody would question you even if you walked into a high end gala, you know?"
"Oh, I'm aware. I've done that a few times before. It's pretty fun."
"...Why am I not surprised?" Yura laughed and said, "Well, tell me about YOU, Neol. Just why DO you dress like an extra in a webtoon anyway?"
"Mm. I just don't like drawing attention to myself. I've done it before and things didn't end well." I gazed up at the sky, reminiscing a bit. "...When you're chasing glory, you can forget how easy that can make yourself and the people you love targets, you know? And while you might think you're just making yourself a target, it's never you who gets hurt. It's everyone else first."
Yura paused and looked at me with concern in her eyes. "...Neol?"
I smiled at her and said, "Don't worry about it. That's in the past. These days, I'm just happy being with you. Besides." I poked her cheek and said, "You're practically invincible. I don't have to worry about you being hurt. I have to worry about other things being hurt."
"Rude. I know how to control my strength!"
"Suuure you do."
Yura rolled her eyes.
We rounded the corner on Main Street. Since it was a weekday now, there were people milling about. Couples on a date for the evening, like us. High school and university students out from classes. Salarymen clocking out early...
It was a bit busy, but not too ridiculous.
What was a bit surprising though was how few people looked at us.
"Huh." I glanced around and said, "There's less people staring today."
Yura rolled her eyes and said, "That's because my hair dye wore off, Neol. Did you not notice?"
I blinked and looked at Yura. True to her words, her usually violet hair was now a plain dark brown...
Dark brown?
I blinked again and said, "You don't have black hair?"
Yura huffed. "Of course not! I'm half, remember?"
"Well, what color is your dad's hair then?"
"Blonde, obviously."
"...Wow, you didn't win the genetic lottery, huh? Dark brown hair instead of a pretty hazelnut..."
"EXCUSE YOU?!"
I laughed and kissed her cheek. "It's okay. I love you anyway... even if you could have cosplayed as like Asuna if you had lighter hair."
Yura nipped my chin and said, "You rude bastard... You WOULD want to see me in cosplay, huh? And who the hell is Asuna?"
"...A character from a virtual reality death game called Sword Art Online?"
"Huh? What's that?" Yura furrowed her brow. "Sword Art Online...? That sounds like a stupid name."
"Don't worry about it." I chuckled. "But I don't want to see you in cosplay. I prefer seeing you without anything at all- Mmph?"
Yura clamped her hand over my mouth, her face a bright red. "Hush, you pervert- Kya~?" She immediately pulled her hand back and held it to her chest. "Did you just lick my hand?!"
"Yep~ Tasty."
"You...!" Yura looked like she didn't know whether to slap me or kiss me.
Mildly concerning. She was definitely a wild one...
But eventually, she settled for huffing again and leaning against my shoulder. "You're lucky I love you. I swear, I let you get away with so much..."
I wrapped an arm around her waist, hugging her close to me. "That's because you know I love you too, unconditionally."
"...Yeah." Yura murmured. "I know you do."
"On a sidenote, your curves fit really well on my body. I'm surprised."
"Pft. OF COURSE that's what you notice. Not that I changed into casual clothes or my hair, just my body." Yura looked up at me and teased. "A girl like me might think you're just keeping me around for sex."
"Well, you ARE pretty easy to pull into bed..."
Yura gave me a fierce eyeroll and said, "Woooow. No wonder you've been single all this time. But." She giggled and whispered into my ear. "...I'm only easy for you. So don't let it get to your head too much. You know I'm not like this for anyone else." After saying that she turned a bright red and buried her face in my arm.
I chuckled and kissed her forehead. "And you know the only woman I love is you. But don't let it get to your head too much either. You aren't THAT special."
Yura laughed. "You're a terrible person, Neol. ...But god I love you so much."
I laughed and said, "And it's only like day four! Imagine how crazy you'll be after a year of me."
