The scent drifting through the air was the charred aroma of fat caramelized under high heat, mixed with the spicy fragrance of cumin and chili.

“This scent, I really didn’t guess wrong.”

Walking a few more steps, Theresia’s guess was confirmed.Full novel: Re:Zero: Why Is Reinhard Calling Me Grandmother?! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

At the street corner, a two-story building had an eye-catching wooden sign hanging by its entrance, with a few large characters written in a bold, powerful font:

“Dragons Breath Burger”

Below the sign was another line of small text:

“A legendary delicacy grilled with dragon fire, the classic taste for the people of the Royal Capital, open for two hundred years.”

Theresia stood under the sign and looked up, a hint of surprise appearing on her excessively exquisite face:

“I didn’t expect there to be burgers in this other world, but this name, Dragons Breath Burger… Dragons Breath, grilled with dragon fire? That shouldn’t be possible.”

“Although I am one hundred percent sure there can’t be any dragon meat inside, I give this marketing tactic full marks.”

Theresia pushed open the door while frantically complaining in her heart.

The environment inside the shop was much better looking than she had imagined.

There were warm-toned wooden tables and chairs, oil paintings depicting dragon-like creatures hanging on the walls, and a large stone fireplace in the corner.

The flames inside were burning fiercely, roasting the entire space until it felt warm and cozy.

Behind the counter stood a chubby middle-aged man wearing a white apron covered in flour, with a warm smile on his face:

“Welcome to Dragons Breath Burger! What would you like, miss?”

“Just asking, is there any dragon meat in the Dragons Breath Burger?”

Theresia blinked her beautiful blue eyes and asked curiously.

“How could that be! Our shop’s relationship with dragons is limited only to the word ‘dragon’ in our name. The Divine Dragon Volcanica is the guardian deity of Lugunica; who would dare to use dragon meat to make burgers?” The chubby man waved his hands repeatedly, the flesh on his face trembling. New chapters come out on g.com first.

“However, our shop’s signature dish is the Dragons Breath Double Burger, which uses top-quality rock beef leg meat. Paired with our secret Dragon Fire Sauce—this sauce is made from seven types of spices and a little bit of chili—because it makes your mouth feel as hot as if a dragon had breathed fire on it, that’s why it’s called Dragons Breath Burger.”

“Oh, I see.”

Theresia nodded and casually brushed a strand of red hair that had fallen in front of her shoulder to the back.

Come to think of it, the Kingdom of Lugunica’s reverence for dragons is engraved in their bones.

The national symbol and faith is the Divine Dragon Volcanica; the kingdom’s history, currency, and even political legitimacy are all built around the alliance with the dragon.

Royal succession is even more strictly limited; only the Dragon Priestess recognized by the dragon is qualified to participate in the Royal Selection.

In short, dragons here are not background props in myths, but the actual political core.

Daring to use dragon meat for burgers would be not far from treason.

Thinking about it this way, it makes sense; just like there’s no cotton in cotton candy, or no wife in wife cake, there is, of course, no dragon in a Dragons Breath Burger.

Whether in her past life or this other world, the naming conventions for food are indeed universal.

The more intimidating the name, the less it has to do with the actual product.

However, the two-hundred-year-old shop claim is believable.

After all, the scent does have the essence of an old shop, not the kind of fragrance that can be replicated by industrial assembly lines.

Thinking this, Theresia looked at the menu on the side, which was a small blackboard with various items and prices written in colored chalk:

“I’ll have two Dragons Breath Burgers, an order of your Dragon Whisker Potato Wedges, and a honey lemon drink.” Visit g.com for the full chapter.

“You really know how to order, miss; you’ve ordered all of our shop’s signature items.” The man lowered his head to note down the order, smiling and chatting with Theresia.

“Two double burgers, one order of potato wedges, and one honey lemon drink, that’s fifty-five copper coins in total.”

After hearing the price, Theresia took a gold coin out of her system inventory and handed it over, saying casually:

“Keep the change.”

“…” The man took the gold coin; his reaction was exactly the same as Kadmon’s earlier.

He was stunned at first, then looked down at the gold coin, and then looked up at Theresia.

“M-miss, the items cost fifty-five copper coins, and you’re giving me a gold coin. This is really too much; how can I accept so much…”

“The extra is your tip.”

Theresia blinked her clear blue eyes, looking indifferent.

You have to know that she didn’t have any silver or copper coins on her; the smallest denomination she had was a gold coin.

She opened her system panel and glanced at the gold coin column.

The number ninety-nine was followed by a string of zeros, more zeros than she could count.

Moreover, the prices in this other world were, to her, simply ridiculously cheap.

A single gold coin in the hands of an ordinary commoner was enough for a whole family to live securely for several years; it counted as a huge sum of money.

But for Theresia, this amount of money didn’t even count as a fraction of her assets.

After all, the gold coins she possessed were, in the true sense of the word, enough to rival a nation.

It was no exaggeration to say that her wallet was fat enough to buy the entire Kingdom of Lugunica, and she could even take the neighboring Kararagi along with it, and might still get change back.

Sigh, sometimes having so much money that you can’t even spend it all is actually a kind of trouble.
