"Grandma Meneivra, I am fine," Lex spoke as he nodded at his grandmother, a few days having passed with him and his family back at the mansion, everything going in a good flow, the difference being that his grandmother had chosen to stick with the family, spending some time with her grandkids.
"I know, sweetie, but I can't help worry, that's how I am," the stunningly beautiful Meneivra spoke. She too was a trained user who takes the BioFusion EnhanceX just like his mother. His grandmother was at the range of Gravity Fury Disciple level 1, making her very powerful and making her look very young too. "Beautiful" is what Lex could say looking at his grandmother.
'Not just a beauty, a very intelligent and ruthless beauty too,' Lex inwardly thought, his mind flashing with memories of his grandmother, ones from the future and the things he had taken from her memory to get to know her better. For all her faults, his grandmother Meneivra wasn't one to be messed around with. The current her was the Grand Arbiter of International Justice, an extremely powerful position, one of the highest power-holding positions within the country, feared and respected around the world.
This position is a unique, prestigious role that oversees the enforcement of global legal frameworks. The Grand Arbiter presides over an independent court that surpasses national jurisdiction, handling the most delicate and impactful international cases—such as war crimes, state corruption, corporate malfeasance, and human rights violations. This figure wields authority over governments, multinational corporations, and secretive organizations.
Lex's grandmother has absolute authority to issue rulings that are binding across borders, with the ability to enforce sanctions or order military intervention if necessary. She commands the respect of world leaders and the fear of criminals, warlords, and corrupt politicians alike. Law enforcement and legal systems worldwide fear crossing her due to her far-reaching influence and a global network of operatives who carry out her directives with precision.
Even within the country, she could be said to be the iron master of the law, the supreme judges all descending from her teachings and being her students. The combination of his grandfather and grandmother was legendary, a duo that no one dared to mess with. Lex's grandmother Meneivra is the role model for women all around the world.
A figure of power and respect, she is always busy dealing with situations around the world, yet here she was keeping all those busy schedules at bay and just coming along to take care of and look after him. His grandfather may have to deal with the headache of it all, but no one dares to say anything against Grandma Meneivra, not even the president.
"You are going to squish me to death, you know?" Lex said with a helpless look on his face as his grandmother kept hugging him. He was on her lap as she kept ruffling through his hair with small, gentle touches. Around him were his sisters, who were also being spoiled by his grandmother. The current look of hers would no doubt shock the world.
"You know, seeing how your mother is handling this, I just want to retire and look after the two of you," Meneivra spoke, her voice gentle as she placed small kisses on his head. Lex let her, and at that moment, his mother walked into the hall, a wry smile on her face as Serena spoke.
"Mother-in-law, you don't have to do that. If you do, the whole country will be thrown into chaos, not to mention I can handle them."
"Well, I don't like how you are handling it at all, making my little sweetie pies cry a lot," Meneivra's tone had a certain edge to it as she spoke, her emotions very complex in how she dealt with Serena. It was a mix of the intense liking she had for her daughter-in-law, combined with a small flicker of displeasure mixed with frustration. Meneivra, as a whole, could see and read the situation, knowing that when everything was revealed, Kaelum had to explain the reason why his hidden family suddenly appeared.
When Meneivra put her mind to it, she could have picked up things that others couldn't. Not that she blamed Serena much. Meneivra blamed mostly herself. They had put the two together even knowing the character of her son, and above that, what Serena did, while wrong, wasn't something inherently evil.
It was only the result of it that caused major heartbreak around, and Meneivra, being the bigger adult, has come to understand the situation. Or at least, Meneivra is trying to understand it, keeping her grievances at heart.
Because no matter how it feels, in the end, this is most of the family she has left, and she has no interest in making things worse. It's just that it would take some time for Meneivra to fully accept everything and start to move forward with it.
'Sigh... this is another mess I have to deal with,' Lex thought, feeling the tension in the atmosphere between his mother and grandmother. If the future dictated things, it would twist around here, knowing that the so-called luck of destiny would further complicate matters with misunderstandings, and only more problems would arise from it.
'Though the main question is, should I save my grandfather?' Lex thought inwardly, knowing the fact that his grandfather, the supreme general Helman Mervick, would fall within a certain war he leads. Of course, there were still some years for it to happen, but it would, in a sense, bring down the power of his family, and his grandfather was a very useful person to maintain the military might and connections of his family to the military as a whole.
'Well, it's something to think about, alright,' Lex thought as he focused on the issue at hand, his gaze turning to look between his mother and grandmother as he spoke.
"Mom, grandma, no fighting please, at least not when I am in the room," Lex spoke using his childish yet mature voice, mixing it together to make the two women look at each other, slowly backing off as they came to terms with how much insight Lex had into real matters.
"Fine, fine. I won't cause any issues, but look at you already knowing how to take the lead, just like your father. No doubt you will lead the entire justice system if you want to," Meneivra spoke as she tugged on Lex's cheek, who let it be as he understood that this let his grandmother relax. Thus, with a pout, he started to play with both his sisters by his side, Rose and Lily latching onto him as Meneivra joined in the little fun.
Lex's mother easily joined the gathering, and all of them played around a bit. It was at this time that Kaelum walked in, looking all prim and proper as he spoke.
"Madams, young master has the birthday party to attend."
"Ah! Yes, I almost forgot about it," Lex's mother spoke as she placed Lily down on the ground, the gazes of everyone turning to Lex, who nodded his head and spoke.
"Fine, I will freshen up and then we will leave."
"So when will you introduce this friend of yours to your grandma?" Meneivra asked with a smile on her face, to which Lex easily replied.
"Later."
After which, he moved to freshen up for the party. Lex currently had no desire to bring or show Tracy to anyone. Just her look and actions would be more than enough for his grandmother and mother to no doubt have concerns. For now, she would stay in the dark until Lex had the perfect moment in his hands.
Thus, Lex was quickly led to the bath where he freshened up and put on a better dress, much more worthy than what a family normally makes. Within moments, he was arranged and well looked after by the maids, who started to praise his looks, to which Lex just kept a smile. Though soon after, Kaelum entered the room, followed by a girl of about 11 years old.
