Marcus tightened his right hand, but Darcy hugged him out of fear.

Jane also instinctively moved closer to Marcus.

He placed a hand on her shoulder and pulled her behind him.

After doing that,

Thor grabbed Mjolnir, raised it high, and called down lightning onto himself.

As the lightning struck, his divine power returned, and his armour formed around him.

“Great!” Volstagg said excitedly.

“Mjolnir has accepted you again!”

“Now Loki’s in trouble!

Haha!”

“Asgard is saved!”

…

Thor was smiling too, but more restrained.

He looked at Marcus and said seriously, “Thank you for waking me up!”

Marcus: “…”

Waking you up?

When did that happen?

Why doesn’t he know about it?

But Jane behind him seemed a bit restless.

The bond she built with Thor over the past few days made her genuinely happy for him.

But…

She was just hiding behind Marcus.

Would it feel wrong to just go back like this?

Still hesitating…

“You look like you’re in a hurry,” Marcus said.

“Things might get worse if you wait.

Go.”

Thor glanced at Jane behind Marcus and went silent for a few seconds.

To still trust him at a moment like this…

are they close?

At that moment,

The sky changed, like something was about to come down.

“It’s the Bifrost!” Sif said in surprise.

“Heimdall is calling us!”

Thor’s expression turned a bit complicated.

No time left…

Between love and saving Asgard, the choice was obvious.

He looked at Marcus again.

“I’ll come back for a drink after I deal with this!” Thor said firmly.

“Sure,” Marcus replied easily.

Yeah, go deal with your stuff.

“I will also return to thank you,” Sif said seriously.

“I’ll be waiting,” Marcus said calmly.

The other three Warriors of Asgard also wanted to say goodbye,

But a seven-coloured beam of light had already come down, covering Thor and the others, taking them away.

Only a strange mark remained on the ground, still giving off heat.

Jane couldn’t help feeling a bit regretful.

Maybe she should’ve spoken up earlier…

But it’s fine.

He’ll come back.

She can talk to him then.

Marcus thought…

Next time?

Yeah, in a couple of years.

Suddenly!

A flash caught Marcus’s attention.

He looked over,

And saw Phil Coulson, his forehead reflecting a bit of light, walking over with a calm smile, stopping a few meters away.

“Hello, sir.

I’m Phil Coulson, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Here is my ID.”

Coulson showed his badge.

Marcus felt a bit disappointed hearing that.

Already renamed?

Shame, he didn’t even get a chance to joke about that long name.

“Sir, you seem to…

know us?” Coulson asked carefully.

Marcus blinked but didn’t answer right away.

“System,” Marcus asked in his mind, “since I came here, what’s my identity?”

No response.

So…

He’s basically undocumented right now?

Not a big deal.

With enough power, it doesn’t matter where you go.

If there’s no identity, just go all the way without one.

“I just arrived on your planet.

I don’t know anyone,” Marcus said directly.

“From the M78 Nebula.

My name is Marcus.”

Coulson pressed his lips together.

Before today, he wouldn’t have believed this.

But after seeing five people leave in a rainbow beam…

It didn’t sound that crazy anymore.

“Wow, that’s cool!” Darcy said, impressed.

“Are you like a space traveler?”

Hmm?

That actually works.

Marcus nodded and gave her a look like she got it right.

“Our race travels the stars, looking for suitable planets to settle and grow our population.”

Hearing that,

Darcy’s eyes lit up.

She grabbed Marcus’s hand even tighter.

Coulson was also surprised.

Didn’t expect this “visitor” to be looking for a place to settle down.

“Are you really just settling down?” Dr.

Erik Selvig asked, doubtful.

“With power like yours and the ability to travel between planets, it doesn’t quite add up…”

Darcy covered Erik’s mouth and shot him a glare.

“Ignore him!” Darcy said quickly.

“He’s just overthinking.

Jane, say something!”

“We’re not doubting you,” Jane said seriously.

“Just raising a possibility.

Compared to you, human individuals are…”

“You’re wrong,” Marcus shook his head.

“I sensed strong people on this planet.

That’s why I chose this place.”

Jane, Darcy, and Erik all turned to look at Coulson.

He worked for the government, so he should know something, right?

“Well…

there are indeed some powerful individuals,” Coulson said carefully.

“But before that…”

“Before that, we need to conduct a full assessment.”

“To make sure that…”

“You are not a threat to Earth, then you can be allowed to…

grow your group.”

Phil Coulson spoke firmly, but he wasn’t very confident inside.

The destructive power Marcus showed just now…

Even if the Hulk showed up, he’d probably get smashed too.

If Marcus refused…

That would be a problem.

But they couldn’t just let Marcus do whatever he wanted either.

They could only hope…

“No problem,” Marcus said calmly.

“Entry inspection, I get it.”

Coulson let out a quiet breath of relief.

He gave a signal behind his back to lower the alert.

“Glad you understand,” Coulson said with a small smile.

“I have conditions too,” Marcus said.

“No movement restrictions, no tissue or Dna samples andnd after we cooperate, you introduce me to a powerful woman with abilities.”

Yeah…

Those conditions were tough, but still better than a direct fight.

“No problem,” Coulson agreed right away.

“The assessment starts tomorrow.

Before that, we won’t restrict your movement, but one of our agents will stay with you the whole time.”

Coulson gestured.

Clint Barton stepped out from the corner, carrying his compound bow.

“This is Agent Hawkeye.

I hope you get along,” Coulson said.

Barton nodded slightly as a greeting.

Marcus’s eyes moved down to the bow.

Hawkeye’s bow…

Should be decent, right?

“Hey, can I have that bow?” Marcus asked directly.

“In return, I can heal your hidden injuries.”

Agents go through intense training.

Most of them carry old injuries that modern medicine can’t fully fix.

But for the [Horse Talisman], it was easy.

Barton had already seen Marcus heal Sif and the others.

He handed over the bow without hesitation.

Marcus took it and waited a few seconds.

Nothing happened.

Looks like…

As the “weakest Avenger,” Barton’s current bow didn’t count for much in the system.

Maybe…

That upgraded version in the Avengers would be worth something.

Yeah, he could get it later.

Marcus raised his hand and sent the [Horse Talisman] power into Barton from a distance.

“Ah…”

Barton exhaled, feeling relaxed, and rolled his neck.

“Thanks,” Barton said.

“It’s a deal,” Marcus replied.

He handed the bow back.

“But this doesn’t help me much, so you can keep it.”

Barton: “…”

What is this supposed to mean?

Showing off?

Or goodwill?

“If you have better gear, you can show me,” Marcus added.

“I won’t say no to things that boost combat strength.”

Yeah…

So it really wasn’t good enough.

“Growl…”

Marcus rubbed his stomach and looked at Darcy and Jane.

“Mind if I invite two beautiful ladies to dinner?”

“Ah!

Of course!” Darcy answered instantly.

“I know a good place, let’s go,” Jane agreed right away.

An alien.

And one that can travel between planets.

For an astrophysicist, that was way too tempting.

Erik Selvig was clearly interested too and was about to jump in…

“Dr.

Selvig,” Coulson cut in, “the director of S.H.I.E.L.D would like to discuss some projects with you.

Please come with me.”

Selvig paused, then nodded, looking a bit regretful at Marcus.

That was a first contact opportunity.

Marcus ignored it.

Yeah right.

You were doubting him just now.

He remembered that.

Selvig and Coulson left.

Marcus went with Jane and Darcy to a nearby restaurant.

Even though there had just been a big fight,

People here were used to this kind of thing.

With S.H.I.E.L.D covering it up, most people just thought it was some gang shootout.

Now that it was over,

The restaurant reopened as usual.

The food…

Just typical fast food.

But with Jane and Darcy there, it didn’t really matter.

In his previous life, Marcus had plenty of experience with women.

With the added bonus of saving them earlier and being a mysterious alien,

The conversation flowed easily.

He threw in a few jokes now and then, making both girls laugh.

Then came the bill…

Marcus checked his pockets and smacked his forehead.

“I just realized…

I don’t have your planet’s currency yet.”

“It’s fine, I’ll pay!” Darcy said right away.

“You saved me, this meal’s on me.”

“Alright, thanks,” Marcus said.

“I’ll treat you next time after I make some money.”

“Deal!”

While Darcy went to pay,

Before Marcus could say anything, Jane spoke first.

“You don’t have a place yet, right?

Why not stay with us for now?”

“That would be great,” Marcus said with a smile.

That night,

Marcus had just finished showering when Darcy knocked on his door, not even trying to hide her impatience.

She basically delivered herself to his door.

No reason to refuse.

Yeah…

As expected, she was bold and straightforward.
