Santa Monica Beach.

Marcus and Jean teleported over, and the sea breeze blew against them.

“Beach chairs!”

“Flashlight!”

…

Marcus was like a creator.

Whatever he called out would appear.

Although they were only ordinary items, they were still enough to shock Jean!

In the past, she might have thought it was some kind of spatial storage or teleportation ability.

But after gaining the Phoenix Force and experiencing teleportation so many times, she could now sense basic spatial fluctuations.

And this was different!

These items were being created out of thin air!

That was just…

Too insane, right?

Every second spent with Marcus refreshed her understanding of the world!

Marcus finished setting everything up.

When he turned around, he saw Jean staring directly at him, so he subconsciously looked down at himself.

“That’s weird.

Nothing’s dirty.

Could it be that I’m just too handsome?”

“Pfft!”

The joke instantly pulled Marcus down from the image of some godlike being and made him feel more human.

Jean casually lay down on the beach chair, stretched lazily, and relaxed completely.

“I haven’t felt this relaxed in a long time,” Jean said softly.

“No worries about losing control, no students bothering me, and…”

“Being around interesting people.”

“This really feels like a dream life.”

Marcus smiled and lay down beside Jean.

Jean’s body immediately tensed up!

But after waiting half a minute, Marcus still didn’t make any moves.

Only then did Jean slowly relax again, though she also felt slightly disappointed.

Marcus noticed all of it.

He knew Jean had already fallen for him.

Maybe not enough to sleep with him yet, but if he kissed her now, she definitely wouldn’t refuse.

But…

Marcus planned to slow things down a little.

It couldn’t always just be about sex.

Love was also a kind of emotional enjoyment.

The two chatted casually on the beach like old friends who had known each other for years, talking about whatever came to mind.

No pressure, no worries.

Without realizing it, Jean gradually stopped talking and fell asleep.

A sweet smile remained at the corner of her lips.

She was probably having a good dream.

Marcus smiled and waved his hand, creating a blanket and covering Jean with it using Psychokinesis.

Meanwhile, he looked up at the bright night sky and fell into thought.

It had been less than half a month since he came to this world, and ever since day one, he’d been partying every night and hooking up during the day.

This was a rare quiet moment alone.

Marcus was the type of person who liked making plans, so he instinctively started thinking about his place in this world.

A superhero?

Or a savior?

Well…

The first option was too exhausting.

There would always be idiots coming to bother you, and because of your public image, you couldn’t even argue back properly.

In the end, there would probably be something like the Sokovia Accords, just like the Mutant Registration Act.

Becoming a superhero meant registering and being controlled.

Too annoying.

As for being a savior…

This wasn’t even his original world, so why should he dedicate himself to saving it?

To put it simply,

With New Krypton’s teleportation crystal in hand, even if Earth got destroyed, he could just move his people away.

Zod would probably welcome him gladly.

Marcus could even take a spaceship and travel around the universe.

So,

Helping out for a price was fine, but dedicating himself to justice and sacrifice?

Not necessary.

Honestly,

Collecting treasures and dating beautiful women sounded way more enjoyable.

Luxury clothes, sports cars, good food, beautiful women.

Just enjoy life.

As for Thanos snapping his fingers?

Heh.

The Space Stone and Mind Stone?

If they dared to appear on Earth, they shouldn’t even think about leaving.

Dream on.

As long as Thanos came to Earth, Marcus would make sure he never left again!

That was how confident he was.

While thinking about all this…

Marcus slowly fell asleep too.

Tiga was still reliable as always and woke Marcus up before sunrise.

The moment he opened his eyes,

The two looked at each other for several seconds.

Only then did Jean snap out of it, her face turning red all the way to her ears as she quickly turned away.

At that moment,

The morning sunlight spread across the horizon, colouring the clouds pink like flower petals.

The reflection on the ocean shimmered beautifully.

The view was stunning enough that Jean forgot all about her embarrassment and stared blankly at the sky.

Without blinking.

Even after the beautiful scene faded away, her eyes were still filled with emotion.

It was like she wanted to engrave that moment into her memory forever.

“Is it really that unforgettable?” Marcus joked.

“If you want, we can come watch the sunrise every day.”

“Really?” Jean asked in surprise.

“I mean…

you’d really be willing to watch the sunrise with me every day?”

“Watching the sunrise with you sounds pretty nice,” Marcus said with a smile.

“But it probably won’t just be the two of us most of the time.

After all, I’ll have many wives in the future, so I need to take care of everyone equally.”

That single sentence instantly shattered Jean’s romantic fantasy.

Right…

Marcus definitely wouldn’t marry only one woman…

But after thinking about it, Jean relaxed again.

How could a man this powerful only have one partner?

And…

“I can’t help it.

I have the responsibility of strengthening our civlization,” Marcus said with fake helplessness.

“Our race has an extremely low birth rate.

If I only marry one woman, then it’s very likely…”

Now Jean understood even more.

He wasn’t doing it just for his own desires.

It was for the future of his civilization!

Marcus looked at Jean’s expression and knew things were basically settled.

Jean was practically a complete beginner when it came to relationships, and honestly, she seemed easy to win over.

Compared to the Dark Phoenix, she was way easier to handle…

Wait.

He genuinely cared about every one of his future wives, so that wasn’t manipulation at all!

“Let’s go get breakfast.”

“Okay!”

Marcus had Tiga search for a famous breakfast restaurant in Los Angeles so he could have a nice meal with Jean.

While thinking about where to go next…

[Master, there is an incoming call from “Gwen”.]

Gwen?

Looks like her awakening had started.

“Wait a moment, I need to take this call,” Marcus said to Jean.

“Okay, go ahead.”

Marcus didn’t even leave and answered the call right there.

After all, they were communicating mentally, so there was no risk of Jean overhearing him flirting with another girl.

“Hello, who’s this?”

“It’s me, Gwen Stacy!” the girl said nervously.

“The blonde girl you gave your business card to outside the elevator at the Osborn Building!”

“Oh, it’s you.

I remember now,” Marcus said with a smile.

“How did the band performance go?”

“Thanks for remembering that, but something seems wrong with my body now…

If someone gets bitten by the radioactive spider you mentioned before, what symptoms would they have?”

What symptoms…

Marcus recalled Spider-Man’s abilities while answering.

“Probably increased strength, things sticking to your hands when you grab them, and strange tingling sensations.”

The other side instantly went silent.

It’s over!

Every symptom matched!

“Then…

I really got hit by it!” Gwen cried out.

“How long do I have left to live?

Am I going bald?

Can I still be saved?”

Obviously,

The word “radioactive” made Gwen misunderstand the situation completely.

“Relax.

Just send me your location and I’ll come find you.”

“Okay!

I’m in Central Park.

I’ll wait at the east gate.”

“Alright.”

After hanging up, Marcus looked at Jean.

“Another little problem came looking for me.

A girl got bitten by a radioactive spider from my newly acquired company, so I need to go check on her.”

A girl came looking for him!

And it involved radioactive spiders!

No matter how you looked at it, it sounded serious.

Jean quickly nodded.

Marcus hugged Jean again and disappeared.

Marcus glanced around.

Darcy and the others weren’t there, so they were probably busy.

“Wait here for me.

If you need anything, just press the number over there and someone will help you.”

“Huh?

You don’t need me to come with you?” Jean asked in surprise.

Marcus was obviously going to flirt with another girl, so why would he bring Jean along?

“There might be some activity involving the multiverse.

If something happens, I’ll come back immediately,” Marcus explained.

Jean finally relaxed.

“Okay, then go handle your business.

I’ll practice using the Phoenix Force.”

“I’m heading out.”

After saying goodbye,

Marcus disappeared again and arrived above Central Park, activating “Absolute Concealment” so he wouldn’t attract attention.

With one glance,

He found Gwen rushing toward the east gate of the park.

Her face was full of worry.

Marcus flew down.

As he got closer, he disabled “Absolute Concealment” and landed three meters away from her.

Since Gwen was distracted,

She didn’t notice him at all and accidentally slammed head first into Marcus’s chest.

“Ah!”

“Sorry!”

“I was distracted just now, are you oka…”

“Ah!”

“The alien savior?!”

Gwen’s expression shifted from panic, to apology, then surprise, and finally excitement!

Marcus didn’t expect her to actually be his fan.

“So, you really like my appearance that much?

Want an autograph?” Marcus joked.

“Absolutely!

I definitely want one!” Gwen answered without hesitation.

“My dad is the captain of the NYPD.

During the civilian evacuation, a Kryptonian targeted him.

All the officers around him died, and right when it was about to be his turn…

that Kryptonian suddenly stopped!

You saved my dad!

Our whole family loves you!”

So there was a connection like that too?

The difficulty of winning Gwen over instantly dropped to almost zero.

Making that deal with Fury really was the right choice.

“Alright then.

Where should I sign?”

Marcus raised his hand and used the Word Spirit ability to create a signature pen.

Gwen looked around and realized there wasn’t any paper nearby.

But chances to meet Marcus were rare, so she couldn’t make him wait, right?

Without hesitation, she turned around and pointed at her white dress.

“Just sign it on me!”

Marcus smiled and casually signed his stylish autograph.

During the entire process, only the pen tip touched the fabric.

There was no physical contact at all.

That surprised Gwen.

She hadn’t expected Marcus to be such a gentleman.

“Alright, let’s talk about the radioactive spider now,” Marcus said with a smile.

“Huh?

The radioactive spider?

How do you know about that?”

Marcus didn’t explain immediately.

Instead, he had Tiga adjust the light and switched back to his appearance.

Gwen’s mouth dropped open in shock!

“You…”

“Him…”

“I…”

Marcus found her reaction amusing and raised his hands calmly before explaining.

“Osborn Biotech was acquired by me.”

“Although the radioactive spider project belonged to the previous company, it’s still technically my responsibility now, so I’ll handle it personally.”

“Don’t worry.

With me here, you won’t die.”

“Actually…”

“You might even gain something unexpected from it.”

With just a few sentences,

Marcus completely separated himself from the “radioactive spider accident” and instead created the image of a responsible boss handling the problem personally.

Gwen’s favourability shot up instantly!

Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Marcus.

Just like Darcy’s had before!
