Saturday! Saturday, oh Saturday, how I love you so.
There is no alarm to force me out of bed, I laze around until it's almost nine before I have breakfast, and then I promptly return to bed.
Saturday is truly a blessed day.
I demolish my new magazine and a good part of a seinen manga, before I finally eat a light lunch.
I return to my room after my shower and throw open my closet; the altar upon which I have sacrificed most of my money.
Japanese high school is fine, really, but my biggest issue is the mandatory uniform. It's not that it isn't cute, it is, and I've seen pictures of some of the monstrosities out there, so I'm happy about it. It's just sad I don't get to wear any of my own clothes. But not today, for it is Saturday! And I'm even going out.
Given I've been dreaming about Gothic Lolita since yesterday I settle for something in that direction. It might be a little warm for the season, but considering the underwear I usually wear, it should be clear that I will happily suffer to look good.
G-string, of course. A nice see-through bra. Thigh high heeled boots. Short skirt for that absolute territory. A short tee to show off my stomach. Choker! Good call, me. All in black, and for edge a white skull on the tee. Finally I settle on a silver necklace, and black and white ribbons for my hair, done up in twin tails. I don't go full goth on makeup, but I do go with purple lipstick.
I twirl around in front of my mirror a few times, and give it a nod of satisfaction. It's not quite what my hopes and dreams aspire towards, but it's good enough, and I look great. I grab a matching handbag, stuff it with everything I need and put it over my shoulder, then head downstairs, after shooting Jun a text.
"Mom, dad, I'm heading out. Eat dinner without me!"
"Have fun, honey!"
"Don't get in trouble!"
"I always get in trouble, dad," I shout as I head out the door.
When I meet up with Jun at the station he takes one look at me. "So you're goth now."
"Tell me I don't look good," I roll my eyes, "also, what happened to hello?"
"Hello," he sasses back.
"I've been dreaming about Gothic Lolita," I explain, "it haunts me. It is also expensive, so here I am."
"Well, you do look good," he concedes.
"Thank you," I beam, "you don't look too shabby yourself."
He's gone for a bit more of a casual look. His wild, blue hair has been moused up, but besides that he is just wearing a tee with jeans.
We make idle conversation as we ride the train. At our stop I rush out of the train eagerly as we finally make it, with Jun barely able to keep up.
It turned out to be a productive day for us. I found a skirt and he found a pair of pants, so it was three hours and some change well spent. Most of it was spent drooling over dresses. I'm honestly not entirely sure why he is so fascinated by them, but I won't complain.
After our shopping trip we found a ramen joint where we could sit down. It was a rather small place, but it was large enough for us to have a booth to sit in so we could talk privately.
"So," he drags out the 'o' almost painfully so, until I get tired and interrupt him.
"So?"
Whatever he was about to say is interrupted as they brought our food. I take a few bites, and since he didn't pick up whatever he was saying before, I put my utensils down.
"What were you going to say?"
He chews for a little, and I patiently wait.
"You and Noburo?"
"Oh come on, what is up with your obsession with him?"
"We're besties, you're supposed to tell me these things. I've noticed the way you look at him sometimes," he points his spoon at me.
"The way I look at him?"
"You know, all girly."
I did not know I did that. Did I do that? Dammit, this is your fault, slut brain.
"I don't know if you've noticed, but I am a girl," I archly raise an eyebrow.
"Stop being a drama queen, you know what I mean."
"You really wanna know?"
"Really," he says, dead serious.
"Fine," I sigh, "what do you want to know?"
"Wait, so there really is something?" he asks with a puzzled look on his face.
"You didn't know and still went and poked at me?"
"Of course I did. I am insatiably curious."
"You don't have to look so smug over being curious, you dolt," I go digging for the less nice parts of the ramen so I have the best for last.
"And you are trying to change the topic. So, spill the details, your bestie demands it."
I take my time with my food, giving me some time to think on what to tell. In the end I decide to see if I can scare him. We've never had a conversation like this before, so it's new territory. It's not like I've ever actually really had a conversation about boys with anyone either.
"Well, I sucked his dick behind the basketball gym yesterday," I time my sentence as he is drinking.
As expected, he chokes on it, and it is hilarious. Smug satisfaction fills my very soul, and after he is done choking he glares at me after seeing my grin.
"You sucked his dick?!" for some reason he both whispers and shouts at the same time.
"Speak louder, Jun, I don't think the entire restaurant heard you," I say sarcastically.
He blushes slightly and looks down, before he picks himself up.
"So you like him? You're going out?" he asks, slowly regaining that unholy gleam in his eyes.
"No? Why would I? I recall you at one point saying my heart was made of razor blades and barbed wire."
I hum in satisfaction as I'm eating the best parts.
"True. That's why I'm so surprised. Why are you not going out with him?"
"Why would I? It's just some harmless fun," I half shrug indolently.
"So how long has this been going on?"
"First time was shortly before Winter break last year. We've fooled around eight times."
Which is really the main reason I've stuck with it. The first time I gave him a blowjob was just before winter break, and I got to enjoy a nice, quiet vacation without slut brain insisting I should dress up as a slutty elf and go reward everyone nice or some other inane bullshit. Really, getting on my knees every third week or so is worth it. So much.
"And you've kept it quiet from your best friend? I'm wounded. Terribly wounded I tell you."
"From now on I'll keep you apprised of every man I fool around with. Happy?"
"It's all I ever wanted," he theatrically wipes an imaginary tear.
"Right," I finish my food and push the bowl away lightly, "I don't get why you'd want to hear about it though."
"We're best friends, we're supposed to talk about everything," he says matter-of-factly.
"Suppose I can't fault that logic. Enough living vicariously through me, however. Rin is coming after your ass."
"Rin? Who?" he tilts his head in confusion.
"First year. Plays badminton. Very enthusiastic?" he seems a bit unsure, so I give him a final clue, "big tits."
"I think I know who that is?"
"On behalf of all women I feel like I should scold you for first getting the idea when I talked about her chest size, but it is a very distinct feature."
"The brunette?"
"Oh, right. That would have been a good clue as well. Brunette yea," I nod.
"And she wants my ass?"
I let out a sigh.
"Yesterday after practice she grilled me in the shower. She has the hots for you and probably wants to ask you out. Consider yourself warned."
"Thanks for the warning, bestie."
"Do I need to tell her that you're gay?"
Maybe I timed that on purpose with him taking another drink, but I regret nothing. His glare feeds me.
"I'm not gay," he protests.
"Just because you're not gay doesn't mean I can't tell people that you're gay," I point out.
"Wait, have you been telling people I'm gay?" he asks with horror on his face.
"Not yet. Do you want me to?" I know I shouldn't play dumb, but it's so easy to rile him up.
"No!" he takes a moment to get his volume in check, "I'm not gay, so please don't."
"Alright, I'll tell Rin to go get you then. Want me to give her a tour of the best secluded places to discretely give a blowjob?"
He just glares at me. Rude.
"So, are you interested in Rin?"
"I suppose I'm not not interested, you know?"
"Well, you should track her down Monday and ask her out. Can't hurt to give it a shot."
"Sure, why not. You still didn't give me the lurid details though."
"Lurid details? Why are you talking like an antique gossip magazine? And besides, I'm fairly certain those are things you don't want to know."
His eyes squint as he goes into deep thought.
"I'm honestly not sure how this conversation is supposed to work," he finally says, "I think we're supposed to talk about how you feel about him? Given the composition of your heart, that doesn't seem valid though. I've read magazines about how girls gossip, so I think we are also supposed to cover the intimate details."
I give it a minute of honest thought.
"I don't think we have to gossip like girls?" he does raise a valid point though, sort of, "but more importantly; do you really want to hear about how big Noburo is? Or how long he lasts?"
He makes a face at that.
"Yeah, that might be too much. I'm honestly not sure how much I would even want to know."
"In the spirit of soothing your hurt feelings, you can ask me whatever you want, and I'll answer honestly," I offer him.
"Is it normal?"
"What?"
"You and him. I thought you were supposed to go on dates, and then maybe kiss, some more dates, and then perhaps go a bit further."
"Wait, you're completely inexperienced?"
His embarrassed expression makes me want to tease him mercilessly, but I squash it down, since right now I need to be helpful.
"I honestly don't know. I did what I did because I wanted to."
"That's a very you answer," he interjects.
"Thanks," I respond dryly, "I think you are more or less right though. Noburo does seem confused a lot."
"He seems confused? Now I'm wondering if I need to save that poor man."
"He is much taller than you and could probably break you in half like a twig, and you think you can save him somehow?"
"I have more experience dealing with you, which could be very valuable to ensure his escape," he nods thoughtfully.
"I don't think he wants to be saved. I said he was confused at times, but he still seems to enjoy it a lot," since we are veering off topic I choose to steer us back, "if you are going to go out with Rin you probably shouldn't expect the same treatment as Noburo. Have you ever gone out on a date before?"
"Uh, once," he admits.
"And you never told your bestie? I am hurt, hurt I tell you," I happily play it up as payback.
"It was in first year and such an absolute disaster that I couldn't bear to tell you about it. A bird even pooped on me."
It takes a lot of willpower, but somehow I manage to not laugh at that.
"Sorry. Hopefully you've learned something from it though? Your potential date with Rin can't go any worse."
"I'm sure I can find a way."
"Jun, I'm happy you've found faith in yourself, but you're taking it in the wrong direction."
"So you'll help me prepare if we do go out?"
"Sure, why not. I've never gone on a date though."
He grimaces, as clearly he had not realized that flaw in his plan.
"Never? Not even before Noburo?"
"No. Why would I? I don't care about romance or relationships."
"Sure, sure. This is going to go horribly, isn't it?" he buries his face in his hands.
"No no, this'll be great! I can still offer you useful tips," I take a few moments to think, "like don't stare at her chest openly, and be yourself?"
He looks up and stares at me flatly.
"Even an idiot could tell me that."
"Wow. Rude. Now I'm not even sure I want to help you," I cross my arms over my chest.
"You're right, sorry. I'm just panicking a little. Over a date I don't even have," he sighs, "I'm sure we can figure things out together."
"See, that's the spirit. When we team up we've never failed," I give a nod of satisfaction.
"Sure," he says while sounding anything but sure.
I forgive him for his lack of faith, and do my best to cheer him back up. We finish our drinks, pay and leave, then make our way to the station. By the time we finally split up I think I've managed to help him regain his confidence at least a little.
