Chapter 7: Nothing

school of battles

Ratatata...

Four Bullets were fired right for Ohta’s face.

Mirage Steps.

Ohta dodged to the side, barely leaving two after images of himself behind.

He dove behind a pillar to hide. "damn it! Me and my big mouth. I knew that Escobar name was familiar."

Ohta was once the Mafia boss King of his old world. And this world greatly mirrored that world in history and achievement.

As the Mafia boss king, it was only tradition that he knew of the greats that had come before him.

One such greatness was the infamous Mafia lord, Pablo Escobar. A man that became the godfather of cartels worldwide.

At his peak, he controlled 80% of the underworld’s market. The first man to climb from the streets and become a legend.

Even governments respected him.

And his wealth and heart?

Boundless.

Rumors had it that one time, his daughter was cold during winter, and the wood was too wet to burn for warmth.

Pablo ordered that they open his personal treasury, and burn stakes of bills through out the night.

Millions of cash went to smoke just so his little girl could sleep peacefully.

That was the kind of a man he was.

Even in his last days, he refused to be taken to prison unless he built the prison by himself.

Such indomitable pride.

And Sofia Escobar was his grand daughter. This also explained her proficiency in guns as well as her pride.

The Escobars were a family that took what they wanted for themselves through blood and sacrifice.

Ohta had offered to gift her the points that he had acquired during the test. There was no doubt that Sofia saw it as an insult to her pride.

Ratatata

Four more bullets sprayed the pillar Ohta was hiding behind.

Wood splintered, and ohta docked low.

"Shit! I thought they said they don’t use real bullets in school."

"That only applies to classes. Life and Death battles are a different matter. " A voice replied.

Ohta turned to the source of the voice. It came from beneath him. Under the floor board.

There was actually a person there. A roughly dressed skinny boy.

He had brown hair, and dirt stain on his face. But his bright eyes showed his enthusiasm.

"Who are you?" Ohta asked shocked.

"I am Boppa, a battle merchant. I appear wherever there is chaos. Now, considering the fact that you went into a Life and Death battle without any weapon, what would you like to buy?"

Boom.

A bullet did more damage to the pillar than Ohta expected. ’If I stay here any longer, I’ll actually be riddled with holes.’

Even more surprising, the other students simply watched the battle without interrupting. In fact, there were those that clapped when that bullet almost got him.

"How dare you think so little of me?" Sofia raged. "Do I look like some fragile princess to you?

A commodity to be used and discarded?!"

Six more bullets were fired.

Ohta dove to yet another pillar. ’Huh!? But I never said that." Ohta was a bit confused.

The floor board opened again. "You know, if you don’t buy something, the Escobar princess is going to kill you." Boppa suddenly opened his jacket.

"So what is it going to be? I got guns." Boppa brought out a slick looking pistol. "I have a Beretta M92. This baby has rapid fire. We talking three to five rounds per second.

but If you don’t like it, I still have knifes, daggers, a grenade launcher. But as you know, it all costs money."

Boppa continued advertising his products without a care that he was also in the range of fire.

In fact, he looked like it was not his first rodeo.

Ohta could not be bothered by making a deal right now.

He peeped at his attacker. "Miss Escobar, please i really do not want to fight with you. If you could just..."

Ratatata.

Another six shots.

This one grazed ohta’s shoulder. Blood spilled, and his eyes glowed a quick red in annoyance.

"Not again." ohta muttered as he turned towards a window.

He moved.

Mirage steps.

He dove out of the window, smashing the glass in the process.

Sofia shot two more rounds his way.

"damn it." she cursed. "Why can’t i get him?"

she really felt frustrated. She was always proud of her aim.

However, no matter how much she loaded ohta with bullets, he seemed to always dodge.

Her mind flashed to the movement technique he used. The double after image always confused her aim.

"I’ll get you." She dove through the same window, following after him.

They were in the garden of trees now.

Sofia moved with caution. Guns streched out before her.

She felt movement behind her, and immediately turned.

boom.

She fired.

Two shots.

Blood spilled.

"Got you." She hurried to the site.

It was a rabbit. Twitching and bleeding on the ground.

She sighed.

However, movement again.

She fired.

Three shots this time around.

Another passing rabbit.

She frowned.

It was true that this was a garden, but considering the fact that she had been blasting her guns, shouldn’t the animals be running to hide?

Why were they popping up around the place?

Again, movement from the back.

This time around, she did not shoot.

Yet another rabbit.

It was a good call.

Her fingers relaxed around her gun, slumping tiredly.

She turned.

A rabbit jumped in her face. She raised her guns to shoot it.

Just then, at the corner of her eyes, she saw a figure.

Ohta. His gaze focused, unthreatened, in control.

It made her heart tighten.

Ohta had used the Rabbit to obstruct her field of vision.

Instinctively, she panicked, pressing the triggers as her hand attempted to change trajectory.

"Too slow." ohta muttered. In his hand was a gun. Beretta M92.

Ohta flipped the gun, using the butt like a sledge hammer, he delivered a upper cut right for Sofia’s jaw.

It was a solid hit.

She fell backwards.

Her fingers pressed the triggers again.

two more shots were released. One from each gun.

She fell backwards. However, this was obviously not the first time she had been in a fight.

She flipped in the air.

This display of flexibility in the face of danger impressed Ohta.

But he too was one that loved to finish business.

Mirage steps.

While in mid air, he delivered a punch to her belly.

She coughed out saliva, as she fell, tumbling on the ground.

Even though she felt incredible pain, her fingers remained tight around her weapons.

Ohta landed, a knee on her chest.

The Beretta M92 in his hand pointed in between her brows.

Sofia raised her guns to Ohta’s face.

pressed the triggers.
