After the three of them drove away, the hotel they were leaving behind grew smaller and smaller in the distance.

Jiang Jiming stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, his figure blending into the darkness.

He stared intently at the car moving farther away.Full novel: Secretly a Half-Zombie in the Apocalypse, the Mad Villain Fell for Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Suddenly, the surrounding noise felt like drowning, a silent suffocating weight wrapped around him, inescapable.

His hands clenched tightly, blood dripping from his palms without him even noticing.

He knew it was in that bowl of food,

but it was Wenwen’s first time cooking for him.

He had to finish it.

He really wanted to chase after them,

he knew that “Guai Guai” didn’t dislike him, she just longed for the outside world more.

Once she had played enough, she would naturally come back, his little treasure.

At that moment, there was a knock at the door.

Jiang Jiming went to open it.

“Brother, Sister-in-law and the others are heading toward the neighboring city. Third Bro and Uncle Xi are already following behind.”

“Also, we found out that Young Master Xu is leading a team of Ability Users toward the neighboring city. Their destination is clear, but we don’t know what they’re up to.”

Chi Ye looked at his leader’s hands—it was obvious they were the result of his own doing.

The reason was clear enough.

No matter how much Chi Ye thought about it, he couldn’t have imagined that in just a few days,

their previously restrained leader had fallen in love at first sight with a girl.

Although that girl was indeed beautiful.

But he couldn’t see anything particularly special about her.

The most tragic part was that she didn’t like him back.

The others had been lying in the neighboring room, bored almost to the point of pain.

Finally, today, Sister-in-law had run away!

A mission had arrived!

“Let the two of them continue following, we’ll also head to the neighboring city.”

“Got it.”

Then, in Chi Ye’s incredulous eyes, Jiang Jiming went to the vanity, took a pink hair tie with a small rabbit decoration,

naturally looped it around his wrist, and then carefully touched it, looking like a lovesick fool.

The pink clashed sharply with his black outfit.

Chi Ye watched his brother’s fascinated expression and wanted to say:

“Brother, this is… immoral!”

But he didn’t dare speak.

Even though none of them were particularly moral people to begin with.

Wen Chi and the others drove through the entire night.

By the next afternoon, the three arrived at the neighboring city—Jiang City.

It happened that Jiang Yi owned a villa here, so they immediately decided to settle there first.

The villa was in the city center, but because of the high-level security and the fact that few people lived there,

the villa district had almost no zombies.

Outside, however, zombies were extremely numerous.

It was only Wen Chi who had the zombies clear a path for them, allowing them to enter smoothly.

The two following them had to fight their way through with force.

The villa was large, but after driving all day, the three had no energy to appreciate it.

They immediately found a room to sleep in.

By the time they woke up, it was already late at night.

Wen Chi touched her rumbling stomach, longing for delicious meals.

Eh~ ε=(′ο`*))

She could only take out three packets of instant noodles and start preparing them.

The villa had no water or electricity, which Wen Chi found inconvenient, but fortunately, Dou Dou’s fire ability and Jiang Yi’s ice ability came in handy.

One provided water, the other fire.

The three barely managed to eat hot noodles.

“No! Jiang Yi, tomorrow I’m going to develop my own delivery system!”

Wen Chi had never experienced hardship before. For her future as a “lazy cat” lifestyle, she decided she had to try hard in the city center.

“Then I’ll go with you,” Jiang Yi agreed.

“I’ll go too.”

Dou Dou immediately raised his hand.

Wen Chi smiled and agreed.

In the villa next to Jiang Yi’s, Jiang Jiming stood on the balcony, staring at the tightly closed windows next door.

Chi Ye and the other two sat at the back, gnawing on tasteless compressed biscuits, watching their leader’s figure almost make a hole in the wall.

“Eh~ do you think Sister-in-law is really that amazing? That she can attract the leader like this? She’s turning him into an idiot!”

Chi Ye whispered to the boy silently eating biscuits nearby.

“I don’t know.”

“Eh~ you! That’s all you can say?!”

“A-Lou, you can’t learn to be cold-faced like the leader, or you’ll end up like him—girls won’t like you.”

Chi Ye said seriously, unaware that the man behind him had already turned his gaze toward them.

A-Lou smiled at Chi Ye.

“What are you smiling at?”

Chi Ye asked, confused,

but he clearly felt that piercing gaze.

“Uh… Leader, let me explain. I didn’t mean it like that.”

Chi Ye immediately turned to explain.

“How do you make a girl like you?”

“Ah?! What?”

Chi Ye suspected he had misheard. In his lifetime, he never thought he would hear this from the leader’s mouth.

To save his life, he immediately put on an experienced tone:

“I know this well. Back when I wasn’t in the organization, I was the most popular guy at school!”

“Many girls…”

“Enough.”

Jiang Jiming didn’t care how to attract other girls; he only wanted to know how to attract Wenwen.

“Alright.”

“Leader, wait! Tonight I’ll write a book for you. I guarantee you can win Sister-in-law over!”

Chi Ye said with great confidence.

Jiang Jiming only nodded, then turned back to look next door.

For the sake of tomorrow’s plan, Wen Chi and the others went back to sleep.

This gave someone an opportunity.

In a pitch-dark room, Jiang Jiming immediately spotted his treasure.

He skillfully removed his shoes and got into bed.

In one smooth motion, he scooped the curled-up girl into his arms.

Feeling the warmth, Wen Chi instinctively snuggled closer.

Jiang Jiming looked at her sleeping face and felt a surge of satisfaction.

He had found his whole world.

The next day, the three woke up early.

They drove to the busiest part of Commercial Street.

Along the way, Wen Chi happily greeted the zombies,

because she noticed that unlike before, most of these zombies could understand her.

“Hello!~”

“Hi~ o( ̄▽ ̄)ブ”

“A-Ni A-Se-Yo~”

It didn’t feel like they were in the apocalypse at all, more like they were casually strolling through the city, carefree and unrestrained.

It was the first time Dou Dou and Jiang Yi had seen such a scene; they were stunned.

Chi Ye and A-Lou, following behind, had already known about their leader’s half-human, half-zombie claims and had seen it before.

But nothing had shocked them as much as this.

All they could think to say was:

“Is this really the apocalypse?!”

“This is cheating! Sister-in-law must have paid off Heaven!”

Soon after,

the three arrived in front of a large supermarket and stopped the car.
