But the pharmacy was very small, and it didn’t take long for them to spot Wen Chi’s presence.

“Who’s there?! Come out!”

The group cautiously watched the figure behind the counter, and Wen Chi had no choice but to stand up.Full novel: Secretly a Half-Zombie in the Apocalypse, the Mad Villain Fell for Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She smiled cheerfully at them and said:

“Hello~!”

“You’re looking for Xu Qiaofeng, right? I know where he is.”

Shen Xi looked at the unusually beautiful girl in front of her. She was slender and delicate, not looking like someone trained in combat.

Yet she managed to keep her clothes clean and stylish even in this apocalypse, her cheeks flushed with a healthy glow.

She didn’t look like someone who had survived the end of the world.

And she was searching alone in a pharmacy.

It gave the impression of someone fearless.

There were only two possibilities: either she was pretending to be harmless but was actually very strong,

or she had powerful backing nearby.

There was one more possibility, the one Shen Xi least believed: she was a high-level zombie.

Especially with those pale pink pupils, giving off a mysterious and deadly allure.

Yet all her other human-like signs suggested this possibility was very low.

“You know our captain?!”

The impulsive and talkative Jiang Yanming immediately spoke up.

“I was out collecting supplies with my companions, and I ran into him in the supermarket. He seemed injured, so I came to get medicine for him.”

“Where is he hurt?”

Shen Xi, as the deputy leader of the Bright Light Squad, was more cautious, particularly because the girl’s pupils were so unusual.

Wen Chi recalled and explained: “He has a cut on his chest. It looks like it was caused by a sharp weapon, not a zombie bite.”

Shen Xi finally relaxed and spoke:

“Then please, young lady, lead us the way.”

“No problem.”

Wen Chi led them out of the pharmacy, walking ahead of the group.

On the way:

“Miss, your pink pupils are very special. Are they natural?”

Shen Xi asked casually, her face showing a hint of suspicion toward the girl.

Wen Chi immediately understood her concern. Judging by their attire, Wen Chi could tell at a glance that they were an Ability User squad from a base.

Their true strength was unknown.

If they discovered her half-human, half-zombie identity, she certainly wouldn’t survive.

“No, I’m wearing colored contacts. I like this color, so I’ve been wearing them.”

“I see~”

“Bah! Wearing contacts at a time like this, you might lose your life!”

A silent man in black sneered at Wen Chi while fiddling with the large sword in his hand.

Shen Xi quickly tried to smooth things over: “Sorry, miss. Our teammate just speaks harshly; it’s not directed at you.”

Then she scolded the man in black: “Gu Wang!”

“Hmph!”

“Hypocrite.”

Gu Wang ignored Shen Xi’s words and strode past her.

Wen Chi had never met anyone like this in her life—so sharp-tongued, whether toward friends or strangers.

Shen Xi, feeling embarrassed, froze briefly, then quickly composed herself and followed.

At the supermarket entrance, Wen Chi gently pushed the door open.

Jiang Yanming muttered unconsciously:

“Strange… we haven’t encountered a single zombie on the way here?”

Wen Chi’s hand trembled as she held the medicine but she kept moving forward.

Inside, the strong smell of blood hit them.

The floor was soaked, dyed red with fresh blood.

Jiang Yi held Dou Dou at the door, and seeing Wen Chi return, immediately said:

“A-Chi, you’re finally back! Otherwise, Dou Dou and I were going to come look for you.”

“I’m fine. How is he?”

Jiang Yi shook his head, then noticed the people behind Wen Chi.

Seeing Xu Qiaofeng lying on the ground, Shen Xi and the others rushed forward, leaving only Gu Wang standing in place.

“Captain, wake up!”

“Captain!”

Wen Chi held the medicine and went up, first treating the wound simply; the bleeding had stopped,

but Xu Qiaofeng was still too weak.

“Leave it to me.”

Among them, a tall and slender girl in black stepped forward.

Her figure, wrapped in tight black clothing, made her look even more charming,

while her face carried a mature, commanding beauty, giving off a sense of being unapproachable.

Words like “pure” and “untouchable” didn’t even begin to describe her aura.

Wen Chi looked at her curiously, instantly liking the girl—after all, who isn’t a fan of good looks?

The girl stepped forward, opening her hands, and a blue light shot out into Xu Qiaofeng’s body.

Soon, his face flushed with life.

Wen Chi and the others immediately understood—this was a healing ability, very rare.

Having such an Ability User in a small squad was like adding wings to a tiger.

Xu Qiaofeng woke up.

Upon waking, he saw his teammates and Wen Chi standing nearby.

“Little Chi, thank you for saving me.”

Xu Qiaofeng said gently to Wen Chi.

“I didn’t save you. That lady over there did.”

“You certainly helped too.”

Xu Qiaofeng glanced at the girl, then smiled again at Wen Chi.

“Little Chi?! You’re… the childhood friend our captain has thought about for over a decade, Wen Chi?!”

Jiang Yanming, unable to keep his thoughts inside, immediately blurted it out.

“小 Ming!!”

Xu Qiaofeng quickly glanced at Wen Chi, then scolded him for speaking so recklessly, his own cheeks turning red.

Jiang Yanming realized his mistake, immediately gestured to seal his mouth, and leaned back.

“Miss Wen, may I ask how you managed to come to the pharmacy alone without encountering any zombies?”

Shen Xi glanced at Wen Chi’s pale pink pupils. The girl clearly looked human, not like an Ability User. Then she looked at Xu Qiaofeng sitting on the ground, her expression darkening.

“Maybe I was just lucky.”

Wen Chi had noticed Shen Xi’s hostility, but she also understood her caution.

“All right, since you’ve found your person, I’ll leave with my companions. Bye-bye.”

Wen Chi smiled and turned to leave.

“Wait, Little Chi, aren’t you coming back with us?”

“My father runs a base full of Ability Users and ordinary people. It’s very safe.”

“I came out specifically to find you this time.”

“Little Chi, come with us.”

Xu Qiaofeng struggled to stand, looking at Wen Chi with deep affection in his eyes.

Wen Chi glanced at Jiang Yi and Dou Dou.

Her half-human, half-zombie identity made entering the base difficult,

but for Jiang Yi and Dou Dou, going to the base was the best choice.

Jiang Yi noticed Wen Chi’s gaze and spoke first:

“Where you go, I go.”

Dou Dou echoed:

“Wherever my sister goes, I go too.”

Wen Chi smiled gently.

“A-Chi, you can come with us.”

Xu Qiaofeng extended the olive branch once again.
