Camelot woke up to the smell of flowers.
The first thing he felt was the softness of the bed.
He couldn’t figure out for several minutes why his body didn’t protest after waking up.
He slowly opened his eyes.
Above him was a white ceiling, high walls.
Heavy curtains, through which the inner light penetrated.
Camelot frowned.
«Where am I?»
He tried to get up and immediately froze.
His hands didn’t look right.
Thin, too young.
He abruptly sat down on the bed and began to examine himself.
The body has changed a lot.
The skin became clean and without redness, instead of a belly, six-pack abs and narrow shoulders along with a waist.
Camelot was silent for a few seconds out of bewilderment, then slowly turned his head towards the mirror.
A complete stranger was looking at him from the reflection.
A young face, with long blond hair that turned red at the tips.
It was the first time he had seen such a hair color.
They matched his bright red eyes.
Camelot walked closer to the mirror and touched his face.
The reflection repeated the movements.
«Did I die and get reborn in someone’s young and beautiful body?»
He paused, then looked at himself once more.
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
«Or am I finally lucky?»
The door creaked.
The guy immediately moved away from the mirror.
A man in his fifties entered the room.
Tall, thin, with long dark hair pulled back on his head.
He was wearing clothes that Camelot had never seen before, but for some reason immediately realized that they were worth a lot of money.
The man froze at the door.
For a few seconds, he just stared at Camelot.
And then he breathed a sigh of relief.
«Son, you’re awake.
Do you remember me?»
Camelot didn’t say anything.
«How are you feeling?»
«My head hurts a little, for a moment I forgot your name.
What happened?»
The man came closer.
«You really hit your head hard when you fell down the stairs.
My name is Arthur Canham, I’m your father.»
At the same moment, there was a soft rustle of pages next to Camelot.
He turned his head sharply.
The silver grimoire appeared in front of him again.
The book hovered just a few centimeters from his shoulder.
The silver cover shimmered in the morning light, and the thin metal clasps opened by themselves.
Camelot froze.
«What is this…»
Arthur Canham looked at his son in surprise.
«Did you remember something, son?»
Camelot quickly shifted his gaze to the man so as not to seem strange.
«It’s okay, it’s just that memories are slowly coming back to me.»
The grimoire opened.
The first page slowly turned over.
Letters began to appear on the blank sheet.
[Arthur Canham]
Age: 52 Years Old
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Title: Viscount Canham
Status: Current Head of the Canham family
Relationship: Father
Magical Art: Not a definite
Threat: Low
Camelot stared at the page in silence for a few minutes.
«Viscount…»
The word came out of his mouth.
Arthur raised an eyebrow slightly.
«Did you say something?»
«No.»
Camelot looked at the grimoire again.
The page continued to change and a new line appeared at the very bottom.
[ Additional information is available after receiving the target’s trust.
]
Camelot frowned.
«So the book doesn’t know everything.»
He held out his hand.
His fingers went through the page and touched his father’s hand, which was watching Camelot’s actions.
He thought he was probably still sleepy.
He jerked his hand away.
The grimoire didn’t even move.
«Interesting.»
Meanwhile, Arthur was watching his son.
«Camelot?»
«Yes?»
«Are you sure you’re feeling all right?»
Camelot looked at him.
Standing in front of him was a man he had never seen in his previous life.
But the grimoire called him father.
And the strangest thing was something else.
He was curious.
He looked at the silver book again.
Arthur Canham’s name was now on the front page.
The Viscount.
The head of an ancient family.
His new father.
Camelot smiled faintly and whispered:
«What else can you show me?»
Red lines suddenly appeared on the grimoire.
[The Seeing Servant does not welcome the absolute truth.

«So you won’t be Wikipedia for me in this world, I need to grow up on my own to discover more information.
I get it.» thought Camelot.
Suddenly, something clicked in his head and other people’s memories flashed before Camelot’s eyes.
Hallway.
A woman with long silver hair.
Arthur Canham.
Garden.
Easel.
A brush and a painting drenched in gold.
Camelot clutched his head.
«Ouch!
It hurts!»
Arthur immediately went up to him.
«What happened!?»
«The memories are coming back.»
Camelot took a deep breath.
The pain disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
He slowly sat back down on the bed.
«How long have I been unconscious?»
«Almost two days.»
«Two days…»
Arthur nodded.
Then his face became serious.
«We need to talk.»
Camelot looked at him.
«About what.»
«About tomorrow.»
«What will happen tomorrow?»
Arthur was silent for a while, as if he was choosing his words.
«The Council will be here.»
«Who is the Council?»
«Representatives of the highest noble houses, magic guilds, and the royal administration of the King.»
Camelot frowned.
«Why?»
Arthur sighed heavily.
«To decide the fate of our kind.»
Camelot remained silent.
«Do you remember what happened to the Canhams?»
«I don’t remember.
You can remind me.»
The answer sounded too honest.
Arthur looked at him in surprise, but did not argue.
«Our family has been known for several centuries.
The Canhams have always been known for the gift of finding art.»
«What kind of gift are we talking about?»
«Magical painting.»
Camelot shrugged his shoulders.
«And what’s so special about that?»
Arthur looked at him as if his son had just asked why people needed to breathe.
«Our gift is able to solve mysteries through art.
One of our ancestors who possessed this gift served the King himself.
He was a magical detective of stories.»
Camelot froze.
«What?»
«The artist of Canham Family doesn’t just paint.
He is able to see the magical nature of a person, object or place and capture it on canvas.»
Arthur went to the window.
«Our paintings were once considered the treasures of the kingdom.
Great magicians came here to order portraits.
Some of them are still kept in the royal palace.
»
«And now?»
Arthur lowered his gaze.
«Right now, no one from the Canham clan is able to see the magic art.
The gift is gone.»
Camelot was silent.
«So the Council decided to check if our family has really lost the gift.»
«And if that’s the case?»
Arthur turned to him.
«We will lose the title and we will be kicked into the slums.
Where ordinary people live.»
Camelot thought about it.
He had just appeared in this world.
He had no idea about magic, nobles, or any titles.
But for some reason, his father’s words evoked strange feelings inside.
«Are you sure we’ve really lost this gift?»
Arthur said nothing.
Camelot frowned.
«Why should the Council even decide if we have talent or not?»
Arthur looked at him.
At that moment, a grimoire appeared in front of Camelot’s eyes and a new page appeared.
[The Condition Is Fulfilled.]
Camelot blinked.
[The Main Task Has Been Activated.]
