A few centimeters from the place where the glass was lying, a white cloth napkin was found nearby.

It was half-crumpled and hidden under the leaves.

Camelot carefully picked her up.Full novel: Seeing Servant — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

[The object has been detected.]

[ Cloth napkin.

]

[ Residual substances: Detected.

]

He sniffed the air.

There was almost no smell.

But there were small traces of powder on the fabric.

Camelot immediately looked at Tatiana.

She stood motionless.

«Tatiana, do you know what this is?»

«How should I know?

Perhaps one of the girls you invited was walking here and dropped this thing.»

«You’re the head maid, and you can still joke like that.»

«And what, will my hands be cut off for that?»

«Shouldn’t you know what’s going on here?»

«No.»

Camelot looked at the napkin again.

The skill highlighted a small area of the fabric.

[Chemical analysis is partially completed.]

[Substance detected: Sleeping pills.]

Camelot froze when he saw the inscription in the grimoire.

He slowly turned his gaze to the broken glass.

Tatiana’s phrase came back to mind.

«Two days ago, you passed out in the greenhouse.»

Camelot looked at her.

«So I didn’t just pass out?»

«I don’t understand what you’re talking about?»

«Sleeping pills.»

Just a little bit, Tatiana’s face changed again.

But the Deduction was already working.

[Reaction detected.]

[ The probability of information concealment is increased.

]

Camelot looked at the broken glass again.

This time, the skill highlighted its outer surface.

[ A foreign substance has been detected.

]

[ Toxic substance.

]

[Preliminary identification: Arsenic.]

Camelot felt a chill go down his spine.

Sleeping pills on a napkin.

Arsenic on the outside of the glass.

And it was all in one place.

He began to put the whole picture together.

Someone made a drink and added sleeping pills to the object itself, which was used by the former Camelot.

He looked at his own hand.

That day, the last Camelot drank from this glass and then wiped his lips with a napkin.

He received two exposures at once, where there was loss of consciousness.

And then he received a lethal dose of a toxic substance.

Camelot looked at the head maid again.

«Tatiana.»

“Yes.»

«Who was in the greenhouse the day before yesterday?»

Tatiana did not answer immediately.

Camelot noticed this pause.

«I already said, I left in the morning.»

«I didn’t ask about you.»

The woman pursed her lips.

«As far as I remember…»

She looked away to the glass walls of the greenhouse.

«Adrian was here.»

Camelot froze.

«Adrian?»

«Yes.»

«When?»

«After lunch…As far as I remember.»

«And what was he doing here?»

«Walking.»

«Just walking?»

«He comes here a lot.

You know he’s interested in art.»

«Have I been here since he did?»

Tatiana frowned.

«As far as I know, yes.»

Individual details began to connect in his head.

Adrian was in the greenhouse first that evening, and then Camelot came.

After that, Camelot lost consciousness.

There were too many coincidences, but Camelot still didn’t like something.

A grimoire appeared in front of his eyes.

[Deduction continues.]

[ New witness: Tatiana.]

[New information received.]

[Attention.]

[Coincidence of circumstances is not proof of guilt.]

He smiled faintly.

Even the grimoire decided to remind me that I’m celebrating too early.

It’s too obvious.

If Adrian really wanted to kill Camelot, why would he leave behind such obvious evidence, he could come back in a few days when everything had settled down and take the evidence…And why was the poison on the outside of the glass?

He slowly turned his gaze to Tatiana.

She stood motionless.

«Tatiana.»

«Yes, your joy.»

«You said that Adrian was here alone.»

«At that time, how did you know that he had left?»

Real confusion appeared on the maid’s face for the first time.

It was only for a moment, but it was enough for Camelot.

[Witness testimony requires additional verification.]

Camelot smiled.

«I guess I’ll have to talk to Adrian.»

Night fell on the Canham Estate unnoticed.

After dinner, the corridors subtly quieted down.

The servants went to their rooms, the candles went out one by one, and heavy clouds covered the moon outside the windows.

Camelot was sitting at his desk, looking at two small pieces of paper.

There were only two words written on each one.

«You’re a murderer.»

He put the pen back down.

«Let’s see who gets scared first.»

Tonight, he decided not to look for the killer.

He decided to let the killer come himself.

Camelot took the first sheet and left the room.

The hallway was empty, so he cautiously reached Adrian’s room, where the door was unlocked.

He quietly entered while his brother was sleeping.

Damn, he’s good.

Even in his sleep, this guy looked annoyingly neat.

Her hair was perfect, her clothes were folded next to the bed, and there wasn’t a single extra item on the table.

Isn’t he a Virgo by any chance?

Camelot walked over to the table and placed the note right on top of the book.

He lingered for a few seconds.

If he is really guilty, this piece of paper will really disappear in the morning.

Camelot was about to get out, but stopped.

Although…

He looked at Adrian, who was sleeping soundly.

If he is guilty, then it will also be interesting.

Camelot quietly closed the door.

The second note was waiting for him in his pocket, he found Tatiana in the hallway, ready to sleep.

«Tatiana.»

She stopped.

«The Young Heir?»

Camelot handed her a paper.

«Give this to Viscount Arthur.»

Tatiana looked at the sheet.

«What’s here?»

«Don’t read it.

This is for Father.»

Her gaze became suspicious.

«Then why don’t you give it to me?»

«Because you’re the only one who’s awake.»

«I get it.»

Tatiana slowly took the note.

«Good.»

Camelot was about to leave, but he turned around.

«Under no circumstances should you open it.»

Gradually, the guy disappeared from her sight.

Then Tatiana looked down at the sealed roll of paper where it was written:

You’re a murderer.
