Just as Liu Hai and the staff member were struggling over Tuantuan, about to accidentally hurt him, Si Konghuai let out a cold shout and rushed over in time.

Si Konghuai clenched his fist and punched Liu Hai in the face!

The heavy, powerful punch made Liu Hai cry out in pain, and he couldn’t help but release Tuantuan.

Si Konghuai immediately scooped Tuantuan into his arms.

“Restrain him!”

Si Konghuai glared coldly at Liu Hai and issued the order.

“Yes, Head!”

Si Konghuai’s subordinates promptly pinned Liu Hai down, leaving him no chance to resist.

Upon hearing that Si Konghuai was the Head, Liu Hai assumed he was Qiao Hongye’s superior and grew frantic.

“Sir, this has nothing to do with me! It was Hongye who told me to bring the child to you! I’m really not a bad person!”

Liu Hai shrieked anxiously, but no one paid him any attention.

The onlookers, staring at the two identical faces, buzzed with discussion.

So this is the child’s biological father, right?

It’s so convenient when father and son share the same face—they recognized each other instantly!

Si Konghuai tuned out the chaotic chatter and looked down, meeting the gaze of the little glutinous rice ball in his arms.

Large, black grape-like eyes, bold and handsome eyebrows, a tall and straight nose bridge, delicate facial features—even the shape of his lips was exactly the same as Si Konghuai’s when he was a child!

Si Konghuai was deeply shaken, finally understanding why Lu Ning had been spouting nonsense.

Tuantuan was also sizing up Si Konghuai.

He pressed his lips together warily, his eyes wide open.

This uncle, who had appeared out of nowhere, looked just like him, as if he were looking in a mirror.

How annoying—he was even taller and stronger than him! He had lost!

But these were just his inner thoughts; he couldn’t say them out loud.

Tuantuan blinked his big eyes and asked cleverly, “Uncle, are you here to take me home?”

“We look so much alike—it must be fate! You’ll definitely take me home, right? I can tell you’re a really good person!”

Tuantuan praised sweetly, placing Si Konghuai on a moral high ground.

If he didn’t take him home, it would be a betrayal of his praise.

Si Konghuai chuckled, then nodded seriously. “Yes, I’m a good person. I’ll take you home. Don’t be afraid.”

“Let me confirm first: your name is Tuantuan, you’re 4 years old, and you have a twin brother named Yuanyuan who looks just like you, right?”

“Yes! Uncle, you know me!”

Tuantuan’s eyes lit up.

Not shy at all, he immediately wrapped his arms around Si Konghuai’s neck, letting him lift his little bottom so he could sit more comfortably.

“Did my mom send you to find me?”

“Yes.”

Si Konghuai nodded—it could be considered true, in a way.

Si Konghuai planned to take Tuantuan back first. The child had spent the night on the train, and he could already hear Tuantuan’s stomach rumbling.

However, while Tuantuan seemed to trust Si Konghuai, he wasn’t entirely convinced.

Pointing at the staff member, he said clearly, “Then, Uncle, why don’t you buy a ticket from this uncle right now and take me home!”

“I want to take Train 16!”

Tuantuan could read and had a good memory.

He thought he had come on Train 16, so he should take the same one back.

“This kid is quite clever,” the staff member couldn’t help but praise him. But before Tuantuan could feel too proud, he corrected him, “You came on Train 16, but to go back, you need to take Train 15.”

“However, there are fewer trains running on the No. 15 line today. The earliest departure won’t be until 7 PM.”

It was only 11 AM now—they would have to wait eight hours.

“Ahhh~”

Tuantuan counted on his chubby little fingers, his face falling as he let out a disappointed sound. His dark, bright eyes grew slightly moist.

No matter how clever he was, he was still just a child, and fear began to set in.

“Don’t be afraid. Uncle isn’t a bad person. I can take you to call your mother first.”

“Uncle will take you back on the 7 o’clock train.”

“If you’re still worried, I can ask the police to come and verify my identity.”

Si Konghuai patiently explained, his sternly handsome face softening.

He understood what Tuantuan was afraid of, so he coaxed him gently, not wanting the child to carry any psychological scars.

“Won’t that be too much trouble for you, Uncle?”

“Then it’s settled!”

Tuantuan spoke in his soft, sweet voice, a cute smile spreading across his face, revealing two pointed little canine teeth.

He kept up a stream of polite chatter, but never forgot to protect his own interests.

If there’s trouble, call the police!

Tuantuan firmly believed this.

“You little clever one.”

Si Konghuai gently pinched Tuantuan’s cheek.

He wasn’t usually one to smile much, but in just a few minutes, Tuantuan had already made him laugh twice.

Si Konghuai couldn’t help but wonder what kind of woman could raise such an adorable child.

He was even beginning to hope, deep down, that Tuan Tuan Yuan Yuan might be his own children.

“Hehe.”

Tuantuan giggled sheepishly, then planted a kiss on Si Konghuai’s handsome cheek, hoping he wouldn’t hold any grudges.

Si Konghuai felt his heart melt at the gesture. He couldn’t resist ruffling the boy’s round little head—how could he possibly mind?

Besides, whether Liu Hai was a trafficker or not needed to be verified by the police. Having them handle the situation was the best course of action.

Si Konghuai immediately sent someone to fetch the police.

Being considerate, he also arranged for a meal, knowing Tuantuan must be hungry.

Tuantuan swung his little legs as he ate, waiting for Si Konghuai to call Nan Province.

Meanwhile, after getting a clear understanding of the situation, Lu Ning was about to call Si Konghuai to provide additional information, hoping to give him more leads in the search.

Just then, Si Konghuai’s call came through first.

“I’ve found Tuantuan.”

Si Konghuai was brief and to the point, instructing Lu Ning to have the child’s mother come to the phone.

“What? Really? That was fast!”

Lu Ning’s eyes widened in shock.

So it really is his own son—no wonder he’s so invested!

“Comrade Xia, our Head says he’s found your son.”

Lu Ning handed the phone to Xia Mingyu so she could take the call.

Xia Mingyu had been preparing a whole speech, wondering how to beg Lu Ning’s superior for help. She never expected he would find the child so quickly.

Stunned for a moment, she immediately snatched the receiver.

“Tuantuan?”

“Is that you? It’s Mama! Are you okay? Did anyone hurt you?”

Xia Mingyu asked excitedly, gripping the phone cord tightly, her eyes welling up with tears.

On the other end, hearing Xia Mingyu’s voice, Tuantuan hesitated.

“My mother can’t speak. Is she a scammer?”

Tuantuan was suspicious of everyone.

He pursed his lips and instinctively looked up at Si Konghuai, already developing a sense of reliance on him.

Can’t speak?

Si Konghuai frowned.

Xia Mingyu overheard Tuantuan’s muttering and found herself at a loss for how to explain things to him.

She simply picked Yuanyuan up and let him answer the phone.

“Yuanyuan, talk to your brother.”

Yuanyuan had been waiting impatiently. He grabbed the phone and burst into tears with a loud sob.

“Waaah, brother, where are you!”

“Come back quickly, I miss you so much. I even saved lots of candy from Uncle, all for you!”

“I don’t want you to be someone else’s son! I want you to be my brother, waaah.”
