The expressions on everyone's faces changed instantly.
"Night attack!" Jiang Jing'an's voice trembled, "Is it the Merfolk again?"
Huang Tang immediately stood up, his expression serious: "Quick, lock all the windows tightly!"
The women hurriedly ran to each room, closing and locking the windows.
Huang Tang opened the System Space and took out all the weapons:
Pistols ×5, police batons ×6, riot shields ×3, Military Crossbow ×1, Shotgun ×1, various bullets...
"Everyone, grab a weapon!" he shouted, "Tonight, we all have to fight together!"
The women were momentarily stunned, then stepped forward one by one.
Some grabbed guns, some took batons, others picked up riot shields, and some held the crossbow.
Huang Tang looked at them, unsure in his heart.
Three days ago, they were just ordinary office workers who would scream at the sight of Merfolk.
Now, they had to fight...
But there was no choice.
The house was large, five stories, with many windows and a big terrace, and he couldn't manage it all alone.
"Follow my command!" a cool voice rang out.
Cai Lin stepped forward, scanning the women, quickly assigning roles: "Those with strength, take the riot shields and stand at the front!"
"Those with guns, stand behind the shields and aim before shooting!"
"Those with batons and crossbows, protect the sides!"
"Everyone else, retreat to the innermost area, use anything as a weapon, and protect yourselves!"
Everyone quickly took their positions.
Though nervous, at least there was a formation.
Huang Tang looked at Cai Lin, a hint of admiration in his eyes.
As expected of a CEO, she could hold the fort in critical moments.
Countdown:
10 seconds.
5 seconds.
3 seconds.
1 second.
"Crash—!!!"
The glass door of the terrace shattered, and a dark figure rushed in!
Grayish-blue skin, bulging eyes, a mouth full of sharp teeth.
Merfolk!
Huang Tang raised the Shotgun, aiming.
"Bang!"
A headshot!
The Merfolk didn't even have time to scream before falling off the terrace into the floodwaters.
"Good!"
The women cheered.
But before the cheers subsided, another window shattered.
Another Merfolk crawled in!
Then a third one climbed up from another direction!
Three of them!
Huang Tang quickly reloaded, aiming at the second one.
But that Merfolk had gotten smarter, not charging in a straight line but zigzagging and dodging.
"Bang!"
A shot missed.
The Merfolk was already in front of him, opening its bloody mouth to bite.
"Bang!"
The baton hit the Merfolk's face, sending it flying sideways.
But the third Merfolk had already taken the opportunity to bypass him and pounce on the women!
"Ah—!!!"
Screams erupted.
Cai Lin shouted sternly, "Don't panic! Shields!"
The girls in the front row immediately raised their riot shields, blocking in front of them.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The Merfolk crazily rammed into the shields, the immense force causing the girls holding the shields to stagger back.
"Shoot!" Cai Lin ordered.
The girls in the back raised their pistols, aiming.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
A barrage of gunfire.
The Merfolk's body erupted in blood, letting out a scream before collapsing to the ground.
It twitched twice and then lay still.
The women stared blankly at the corpse on the ground, unable to believe it.
"We... we killed a Merfolk?"
"We really killed it!"
"We did it!"
Cheers erupted.
On the other side, Huang Tang had also dealt with the second Merfolk.
He picked up the Shotgun, looked at the women, and gave a thumbs-up: "Well done!"
The women were so excited their faces turned red.
But before they could celebrate for long, the system prompt sounded again:
[The second wave of the night attack will begin in 30 seconds!]
[Please prepare yourselves!]
Everyone's smiles froze.
"There's more?" someone said, voice trembling.
"The second wave..." Cai Lin's face was serious, "Quick, those injured fall back, switch with others!"
The girls who had been shaken by the shields retreated to the back, replaced by newcomers.
Huang Tang reloaded, standing at the front.
30 seconds passed quickly.
"Crash—!!!"
This time, five dark figures rushed in simultaneously!
Five Merfolk!
The women's faces all changed.
The three earlier were already so difficult, and now there were five...
"Don't panic!" Cai Lin shouted, "Maintain the formation! Huang Tang, the front is yours!"
Huang Tang had already charged forward.
"Bang!"
A headshot, one down.
But the other four had already spread out, two pouncing on him, two charging at the women.
"Damn it!"
Huang Tang didn't have time to reload, had to throw away the gun, and pulled out the baton to fight.
Two Merfolk surrounded him, and he couldn't break free for a moment.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The crashing sounds were deafening.
The girls in the front row gritted their teeth, holding on tightly.
"Shoot!"
Cai Lin ordered.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
A barrage of gunfire, but the Merfolk were too fast, and none of the shots hit.
The cracks on the shields grew more and more.
"We can't hold on!" the girls in the front row shouted.
At this critical moment, a voice suddenly rang out:
"Do I look like your mom!"
The Merfolk's movements froze, a moment of confusion in its eyes.

The Merfolk only paused for a brief second, but it was enough.
"Shoot!" Cai Lin shouted.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
This time, all the bullets hit.
The Merfolk screamed and fell to the ground.
The other one was also startled by the sudden change, its movements slowed.
"Bang!"
Huang Tang finally broke free, taking down the last one attacking him, then turned and aimed at the last one.
"Bang!"
The fifth Merfolk also fell to the ground.
The battle was over.
The women panted heavily, looking at each other.
"Did we win?!"
"We won!"
"Ahhhhhh!!!"
The cheers almost lifted the roof.
Some hugged each other, crying and laughing, some collapsed to the ground with joy, and others kicked and cursed at the Merfolk's corpses.
Huang Tang also breathed a sigh of relief, looking at the excited women, a smile on his lips.
At this moment, the system prompt sounded:
[Congratulations! You have successfully repelled the night attack!]
[Merfolk killed ×8, rewards: Bronze Treasure Chest ×3]
[Please continue to prepare for subsequent challenges!]
Huang Tang put away the treasure chests, looked at the women, and sincerely gave a thumbs-up:
"Well done! Really, beautifully done!"
The women were embarrassed by the praise, but the smiles on their faces couldn't be hidden.
Huang Tang walked up to Cai Lin: "Calm under pressure, well-commanded, Cai, you did a great job today."
Cai Lin blushed slightly but tried to remain composed: "It was necessary."
Huang Tang then looked at Liu Lingqing: "Your [Bewitch] came just in time. If it weren't for you, the girls in the front might not have held on."
Liu Lingqing flicked her hair, smiling like a fox: "No big deal. As a salesperson, I'm best at making people listen."
"No, even Merfolk have to listen!"
