“That one over there is an imported Snowy Owl.

It’s very beautiful and rare.

It costs fifteen Galleons.” The shop assistant points at another owl perched on a high branch.Full novel: Slytherin’s Shadow Prefect From Azkaban — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Rayleigh carefully examines the two owls, especially captivated by the Snowy Owl’s beautiful feathers and light, graceful flying posture.

Its round face and golden eyes are full of mystery.

“The Snowy Owl looks very beautiful, and also very intelligent.” Rayleigh says.

“Can it adapt to the Scottish climate?

I am worried it might not be able to withstand the wind and snow of the Scottish Highlands in winter.”

“Do not worry.

Our owls have all undergone strict selective breeding and adaptability training.” The shop assistant summons the Snowy Owl.

“They can completely adapt to all kinds of harsh environments.”

Rayleigh extends his hand.

The Snowy Owl standing on the assistant’s arm looks at him curiously, lowers its head, and gently pecks a few times.

“I think…” Just as Rayleigh is deciding to choose this Snowy Owl, an owl flies over from deep within the forest.

Its feathers shine with a luster like silver metal.

It circles gracefully among the trees a few times and lands on the highest branch.

A pair of golden vertical pupils glows faintly, beautiful and full of majesty.

“This is a Nightscript Owl.

They’re extremely rare.

Legend says it can bring its owner good luck on the night of a full moon.” Seeing Rayleigh’s curiosity, the shop assistant explains in a friendly manner.

The first moment Rayleigh sees it, he cannot look away.

The beautiful, shining figure firmly captures Rayleigh’s heart.

“I want it!” Rayleigh looks firmly upward, gazing up at the aloof Nightscript Owl, his eyes revealing eagerness and fondness.

“Of course you can, but the price…” The shop assistant hesitates for a moment.

“Nightscript Owls are not common even in the entire magical world.

It costs 120 Galleons.”

“Child, I know you like it very much, but you should also think carefully before acting.

If you really want to buy it, it would be best to have a parent present.” The shop assistant looks at Rayleigh’s fond expression.

He is not the first person to fall in love with the Nightscript Owl.

Unfortunately, the high price makes the vast majority of adult wizards shrink back.

There is really no need to spend 120 Galleons just to buy an owl.

“Don’t worry, I will not return it.

I swear on the honor of the Travers Family.” Rayleigh turns to look at the shop assistant.

He will absolutely not miss such a beautiful magical creature.

With the wealth of pure blood, of course excluding the Weasley Family, this thin, weak child in front of him is not merely saying it for show.

“All right then.

I will have someone bring the Nightscript Owl over.

Sir, let us go back and handle the paperwork first.” The shop assistant says.

“Owls have extremely long lifespans.

Choosing one means taking on a responsibility.

I believe that with the Travers Family’s strength, this rare little owl will definitely receive the best care.”

“Of course.” Rayleigh nods.

He follows the shop assistant back to the front counter.

After a friendly round of communication with the shop assistant, the Magical Menagerie is willing to sell this rare owl for the high price of 100 Galleons.

Rayleigh carefully reads and signs the magical pet adoption agreement.

Under the shop assistant’s gaze, he pours out half the gold coins from his small leather pouch.

A moment later, a staff member carefully carries over the silver-white Nightscript Owl.

It stands gracefully on a perch, its golden eyes watching its owner.

“Please take good care of me, Diana.” Rayleigh extends his hand and gently strokes its soft feathers.

An indescribable happiness and fondness wells up in his heart.

Diana is the name Rayleigh gives it.

In Roman mythology, this name symbolizes the goddess of the hunt, wild animals, nature, and the moon.

“Sir, this is the carrier bag we are giving you.” The shop assistant brings over a worn old handbag.

“Although it cannot compare to Mr.

Newt’s magical suitcase, it is completely fine for caring for a small number of magical creatures.”

“A carrier bag?

Mr.

Newt?” Rayleigh asks in confusion.

This is the second time he has heard Newt’s name.

Rayleigh takes the leather bag and examines it carefully.

To be honest, the bag is very old, but Rayleigh still keenly notices that there are some complex patterns on it, as if hidden mysteries are concealed within.

“Oh, you may not know yet.

Mr.

Newt Scamander is a famous magizoologist.” The shop assistant explains.

“He has a magical suitcase with an Undetectable Extension Charm that can hold many kinds of magical creatures and carry them around for care.

“Like the magical space behind that wooden door just now?”

“Yes, essentially the same.” The shop assistant nods.

“The carrier bag is an excellent piece of magical equipment.

It allows you to carry magical creatures with you and care for them at any time.”

“I think with it, perhaps in the future, you will become a magizoologist master like Mr.

Newt.” The shop assistant encourages Rayleigh and teaches him how to use the carrier bag.

‘Somewhat like a magical version of a Poké Ball.’ In no time at all, Rayleigh learns how to use the carrier bag.

With Diana’s consent, Rayleigh tries putting it into the carrier bag.

Then, accompanied by the shop assistant, Rayleigh chooses a cat as well.

This is a Ragdoll kitten just one month old, with crystal-blue big eyes, looking very lively and cute.

“How about I name you Yuumi?” Rayleigh happily announces the little one’s name, using it to remember his previous life’s career as a support who coasted along.

Yuumi is still too small, so Rayleigh does not really want to put it in the carrier bag.

The shop assistant thoughtfully brings over a pink pet backpack and helps Rayleigh put Yuumi inside.

Yuumi comfortably curls up in the backpack, looking out through the protruding hemispherical viewing window on top.

After paying another 5 Galleons, Rayleigh becomes a lifetime member of the Magical Menagerie.

“Sir, this is a gift of pet food and toys.

They can help them grow up healthy and happy.” The shop assistant smiles and brings over another bag.

Rayleigh smiles bitterly and carries it in his hand.

He carries the Undetectable Extension backpack he snatched from Elvin on his back, and the pet backpack hangs on his chest.

In his right hand he carries the carrier bag, and in his left hand he weighs the pets’ food and toys.

Under the shop assistant’s reluctant yet warm farewell, he walks out of the Magical Menagerie with big and small bags.

What Rayleigh does not know is that less than half a day after he leaves Diagon Alley, the news that the young wizard of the Travers Family spent a huge amount of money to buy a Nightscript Owl spreads throughout the entire Diagon Alley.

After all, 100 Galleons is comparable to an Auror’s monthly salary.

In the Junk Shop just a few steps away from the Magical Menagerie, Elvin pulls out a large handful of his beard when he hears the news: “Damned little bastard, so rich and still haggling with me over a few Knuts!”

“Next time, I will definitely empty your pockets full of gold coins!”

Rayleigh stands outside Gringotts looking for Professor McGonagall’s figure.

The wizards nearby are discussing the theft that happened at Gringotts.

Although Gringotts publicly claims the thief did not succeed, everyone is still talking about it.

You have to know, this is Gringotts, the place the goblins claim is the safest in the entire magical world.

Of course, that is under the premise that Dumbledore is not at Hogwarts.

“Sara, who on earth is so bold as to cast magic inside a Gringotts vault?”

“Maybe a former Death Eater!” Sara is a plump witch.

She cranes her neck to look inside Gringotts, but can only see a group of goblins and Aurors busily moving around.

“I heard from my great-uncle’s sister-in-law’s third cousin’s aunt that he really did see an explosion inside just now.” Sara turns to look at Josh and says with solemn assurance.
