“Ah~”

Lin Yue was pushed back into the computer cabinet behind her.

Lin Yue frowned. Yu Songqing? That must be CEO Yu, right? The woman in front of her rushed in aggressively—obviously here to catch someone cheating. But why she ended up in Lin Yue’s room was puzzling.

“Mrs. Yu?” Lin Yue tried cautiously.

The woman snorted. “Since you know who I am, tell me where Yu Songqing is. Otherwise, I’ll make sure you can’t stay in Z City.”

Lin Yue relaxed slightly, now knowing her identity and purpose.

“I don’t know where CEO Yu is. I’m from C City—”

Smack—

The woman slapped Lin Yue arrogantly.

“You little brat! Doesn’t anyone know who you are? Now you’re bold enough to steal a man right to his own doorstep. Did Yu Songqing just leave here? I warn you, my patience has limits…”

Smack—

Lin Yue fought back.

Everyone was stunned. Mrs. Yu was well-known in Z City. Who would have thought she’d be slapped by her husband’s little lover?

Mrs. Yu, unable to believe it, was about to lash out when Lin Yue spoke sharply:

“I’m Lin Yue, CEO He’s secretary from C City Hengxing Group. I am not the kind of person you are implying. Around 5 PM today, CEO He and I parted ways with CEO Yu. As for his whereabouts, you’ve asked the wrong person. Regarding your intrusion into my room and hitting me, I reserve the right to take action.”

Mrs. Yu’s face showed disbelief. “Impossible! How can you be CEO He’s secretary? And that little vixen Yu Songqing is hiding—?”

The woman in the hotel uniform froze. Shivering, she stepped closer to Mrs. Yu and whispered her name.

She nearly fainted. Who could explain this? She had just returned to work after two days off and now faced Mrs. Yu here to catch a cheating scandal. Mrs. Yu’s power made her too afraid to oppose, especially since it involved CEO Yu’s mistress. She hesitated and followed, card in hand.

But now the guest turned out to be CEO He’s secretary. So, was CEO He staying here too?

Her legs weakened, nearly collapsing.

At that moment, Yu Songqing and his assistant opened the door. He nearly fainted seeing Lin Yue with messy hair and clear finger marks on her face.

“Ancestor! You really are my ancestor! Are you insane?”

Yu Songqing pointed shakily at his wife, shouting, “Do you know who she is? This is madness!”

Mrs. Yu felt guilty but remembered Yu Songqing’s recent actions, straightened her back, and said, “It’s your fault for causing trouble outside. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have mistaken her.”

Yu Songqing waved at his assistant. “Call CEO He. I’ll personally go up to apologize.”

Then he walked to Lin Yue, bowed deeply, and said, “I’m sorry, Secretary Lin. I didn’t handle my family matters properly. I promise to make this right. When I go upstairs, could you say a good word for me to CEO He?”

Lin Yue’s expression stiffened; her tone turned cold. “CEO Yu, you are too polite. I’m just a small secretary; I can’t affect this project.”

Yu Songqing awkwardly smiled and dragged his wife to the corridor.

“Please, whatever happens, make sure Secretary Lin forgives me. We’ll handle our matters later, okay?”

“This project is over 15 billion in total investment. If CEO He is angered, the consequences are unimaginable. I already feel embarrassed at your parents’ place—you know that, right?”

“And I really didn’t cheat…”

Yu Songqing was about to explain further when he saw He Yuan coming out of the elevator.

He hurried to greet him, but He Yuan didn’t even glance at him. Yu Songqing looked at his assistant. “What’s going on? Why is he here?”

Assistant: “CEO He knows Secretary Lin was hit. His face changed. I think this is serious.”

Yu Songqing took a deep breath. “This project cannot fail. Too many people are involved. Even if I kneel to apologize, I won’t blink.”

He then pulled his wife into the room.

Lin Yue’s modest room was crowded with people.

Seeing the finger marks on Lin Yue’s face, He Yuan’s expression darkened. He scanned everyone and said in a deep voice, “Everyone, go wait outside.”

Yu Songqing quickly obeyed, moving the group to the corridor.

Once only Lin Yue and He Yuan were left, he walked over and gently lifted her chin. Startled, Lin Yue instinctively stepped back.

He Yuan stepped closer, pinning her against the cabinet. “Don’t move. Let me see.”

Lin Yue held her breath, frozen.

He Yuan frowned, the pressure around him intensifying. Half of her lower body was on the cabinet. She leaned back carefully. “C-CEO He… I think I hit Mrs. Yu.”

At that moment, fear struck her.

The intimidating aura from before vanished instantly. She, a tiny secretary, had slapped the client’s wife?

To her surprise, He Yuan lightly rubbed the finger marks on her cheek and said, “Well struck.”

Lin Yue: “…”

“I’ll handle this matter upstairs. You change clothes and pack your luggage. Starting tonight, you’ll share a suite with me.”

“N-No, that’s not necessary…” Lin Yue stammered.

He Yuan didn’t give her a chance to refuse. “Pick any suite you like. I’m afraid someone might knock on your door at night. I have ice in my fridge; you can wrap it in a towel to soothe your face.”

Lin Yue felt disheartened. He Yuan had decided everything—her opinion didn’t matter.

He noticed her stiff expression and softened slightly. “You are my secretary, and I’m responsible for your safety. I will make sure this is handled. I don’t want you going to bed and blaming me in your dreams. What kind of boss lets his employee suffer without recourse?”

Having said everything, He Yuan turned and left. The group outside followed him upstairs.

The elevator was tense. When He Yuan reached his room, the hotel front desk manager arrived, reporting that the guest room director and general manager were on their way.

Yu Songqing didn’t dare speak yet. He had to wait for Secretary Lin to arrive first.
