Cassie looked at him and nodded in approval, making him dim his eyes.

He walked closer to her and looked at her stomach, making her embarrassed.

“What are you looking at?” she questioned, her ears red from embarrassment.Full novel: Sold to the ruthless vampire king — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“What do you think?” he asked back, making her look away without saying anything.

Feeling that the atmosphere was too awkward, she walked past him, ready to leave, but he held her hand and pulled her to himself, making her hit his chest.

“Ah,” she gasped and stared at him.

“Where are you going?” he questioned, looking at her.

She swallowed and sighed.

“I’m going outside,” she replied in a flat tone.

Kael smiled.

“Fine,” he said and picked her up in a bridal style, surprising her.

“Kael, dro—” she tried to object, but Kael cut her off.

“Don’t make a scene. Remember, the prince and princess are here,” he said, making Cassie calm down.

But she laughed in disbelief and scoffed.

“So, you only care just to save face?”

Kael didn’t say anything.

Instead, he carried her out of the guest restroom.

Outside, he saw Prince Orion and Princess Isolde waiting.

“I’m sorry for that. My wife is a little sick,” Kael said.

They both nodded, but Princess Isolde looked at Cassie deeply, her heart swelling with an uneasy emotion.

Cassie noticed her unfriendly gaze, rolled her eyes at Isolde, and laid her head on Kael’s chest, making Princess Isolde’s lips twitch.

“Excuse us,” Kael said and carried Cassie to the room she usually stayed in.

When they entered, he laid her down on the bed and cleared his throat.

“Do you want to eat anything else?” Kael asked.

She shook her head in disagreement.

“I just want to be alone,” she said and looked away, avoiding Kael’s gaze.

“Okay. Don’t you like the meal? Or is it something else?” Kael asked with concern.

Cassie looked at him, his worried gaze boring into her.

“I don’t like the meal. It irritates me a lot. I can’t bear the aroma due to the encounter I had after eating in the forest,” Cassie explained, making Kael’s eyes darken.

“Are you sure?” he asked, casting his eyes over her stomach, making Cassie feel sick.

“What are you thinking?” she asked.

He paused before answering.

Maybe you’re carrying my child.”

“Huh?” Cassie said in disbelief.

“What are you saying? You must be drunk,” she spat, Kael’s words taking her off guard.

“My child? Are you even my husband?” she questioned, making Kael’s heart ache.

He looked at her, this time his gaze fierce.

“Rejecting me again?” he questioned, his voice chilling.

“No, I’m not. It’s just that it’s too early for such a thing. We just got married, and we consummated our wedding only a few days ago. It’s not possible,” Cassie said in haste, trying to clear the tense air.

“Thing? You’re calling my child a thing?” he questioned dangerously.

Cassie sat up and held both his hands, feeling helpless.

“You’re misunderstanding me again! I don’t mean that. I mean it’s too early for conception. We just had our—”

Before she could finish, Kael kissed her, claiming her lips.

She was stunned at first but later allowed him to do as he pleased.

Kael broke the kiss, leaving her panting for breath.

“Let’s make babies,” he said and kissed her neck, sending shivers down Cassie’s spine.

He kissed the golden bat tattoo on Cassie’s neck, and his eyes turned crimson red.

He took a bite, making Cassie flinch in pain.

He sucked her blood for a while, feeling a rush of pleasure.

After that, he gently unzipped Cassie’s dress and had a heated time with her.

After what seemed like an eternity, he stopped and carried her into the bathroom.

Cassie felt incredibly shy, her ears red and her cheeks burning.

Sensing her shyness, Kael chuckled and pulled her to himself inside the bathtub.

“Still shy?” he whispered, his breath brushing against her neck, making shivers run down her spine.

She didn’t say anything.

Instead, she stayed still.

“Let me bathe you,” he whispered and kissed Cassie’s neck.

“No—” Cassie said and immediately got out of the bathtub, feeling very shy.

She wrapped herself in a towel and waited outside until Kael was done bathing.

When he got out, she avoided his gaze and entered the bathroom to take her bath properly.

When she was done, she came out and saw Kael already dressed in black shorts and a golden-designed black top with the royal crest on the chest.

He watched her gently, his eyes never leaving her.

“Please step out. I want to dress,” she said, making Kael chuckle. This story is hosted at g.com.

“Which part haven’t I seen?” he asked, making Cassie glare at him.

“Can you be less shameless?” she questioned.

He smirked.

“What’s shameful about it? Aren’t we married?”

Cassie pursed her lips in frustration.

Finally, he turned his face to the other side, allowing Cassie to get dressed.

She wore a knee-length, loose gown and let her hair fall freely behind her.

Lying on the bed beside Kael, he held her hand.

“Prince Orion and Princess Isolde came here because of the Blood Moon Accord,” he explained.

“A blood alliance made by the Vampire King and the royals of the Witch Kingdom to keep peace between the two races. It has been a tradition since before we were born. They are the ones responsible for preventing the sun from shining in our kingdom.”

Cassie nodded in understanding.

Inside the guest room, Princess Isolde lay quietly on the bed, thinking about what had happened in the dining room.

She had not only come here for the Blood Moon Accord but also for something that would benefit her and she wouldn’t back down or allow anything to stand in her way.

In the afternoon, Kael and Cassie joined Prince Orion and Princess Isolde for lunch.

They ate quietly, but when the atmosphere became too awkward, Prince Orion started a conversation about their kingdom.

Kael followed suit, making the table lively, while Cassie and Isolde remained silent throughout the meal.

When they were done eating, Princess Isolde smiled at Cassie and asked, “Would you mind showing me around?”

Cassie was silent for a while and wanted to reject, but Princess Isolde left no room for refusal.

“I’ll take the silence as a yes,” she said, then looked at Kael.

“Permission to carry on?”

“Sure,” Kael answered with a nod.

Cassie only knew a few places in the king’s residence, so she asked Zarea to lead the way and describe the locations to Princess Isolde instead.

When they got to the garden, Princess Isolde turned to Zarea.

“Can you excuse us? I want to talk to Cassie alone,” she said.

Zarea gave them space, though she didn’t like the idea of leaving them alone.

What pained her the most was hearing Princess Isolde address Cassie by name instead of adding a title of respect.

“What happened in the morning…” Princess Isolde started, looking directly at Cassie.

“Are you feeling better now?”

“Yeah, I’m better now. I’m surprised the princess cares so much about me,” Cassie said, her tone laced with mockery.

Princess Isolde smiled, ignoring it.

“I can see the king loves you a lot. The way he cares for you makes me jealous,” she said playfully and laughed, making everything sound lighthearted.

But deep down, Cassie sensed sincerity in her words.

“Jealous? Hahaha. Why would the princess be jealous when she has many princes who would love to marry her at will?” Cassie said, folding her arms.

“It’s not about them offering marriage. It’s about who I want to marry,” Princess Isolde said, her eyes flashing with determination, making Cassie feel uneasy.
