The white energy barrier that had sealed the depths of the Gorgon’s Maw for a millennia did not simply shatter; it unraveled like spun glass under a hammer.

Millions of fading, incandescent sparks of starlight rained down into the dark abyss, casting a transient, ethereal glow against the towering walls of ancient obsidian rock.

The air, once superheated to the point of melting stone by the High Magi’s combined plasma strike, grew abruptly, unsettlingly cold.Full novel: Sovereign of the Bornless Sea — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The silence that followed the conceptual erasure of their magic was absolute, broken only by the low, rhythmic humming of the colossal black ship resting far below on the canyon floor.Sargon stood at the edge of the void, his bare feet hovering over the two-thousand-foot drop.

He did not glance back at the Al-Staria, nor did he look at Kaelen, who remained frozen at the sand-ship’s helm under the artificial sedation of his command law.

Sargon’s focus was locked entirely on the black star-metal hull beneath the liquid starlight rain.Slowly, deliberately, he took a step forward into the open air.He did not fall.

The moment his foot descended, the ambient atmosphere beneath his sole compressed, solidifying into an invisible, shimmering pane of purple-tinged space.

It rippled slightly, like water disturbed by a stone, before anchoring itself to the local dimensional coordinates.

With every consecutive step Sargon took down into the chasm, the universe itself willed a new step into existence to support his weight.

His tattered slave rags, dirtied by the dust of Aethelgard, fluttered gently in the cold updraft, yet his posture carried the immovable, crushing majesty of a sovereign walking through his own royal court.

Hovering a few hundred feet below the canyon rim were the three High Magi of the Zenith Heaven.

They were suspended in the air by the residual loops of their elemental wind arrays, but their bodies were trembling so violently that the magical currents were fracturing.

Their ornate golden staves had fallen into the darkness, leaving their hands empty and clawing at the air.As Sargon descended, passing through their level of elevation, the twin galaxies swirling within his pitch-black pupils turned toward them.”You…

you are a monster…” the central Magus choked out, his voice stripped of the booming, world-shaking resonance it had possessed moments prior.

A thick, dark line of blood leaked from his lips, staining the pristine white silk of his robes.

“To delete the magic of the Higher Planes… to leave no ash… no heat… It violates the very foundation of the elemental streams…”

Sargon paused, his feet resting on an invisible step directly in front of the floating priests.

He looked at them with an indifference that was far more terrifying than malice.

To his awakened Primordial Consciousness, the rage, the fear, and the logic of these ascended mortals were completely irrelevant.

They were arguing using the rules of a house his Mother had built, entirely ignorant of the entity who owned the land beneath it.”Your foundation is flawed,” Sargon said softly.

His voice did not carry the force of a shout, yet it resonated inside the Magi’s minds like the striking of a massive, ancient iron bell.

“You worship the structure because you cannot see the ink used to draw it. The light you rely on is merely a secondary law. A boundary designed to keep the void out. But the void does not negotiate with boundaries.”

As the last word left his lips, Sargon’s left chest pulsed.

The primordial spark within him flared, activating [Ultimate Attribute: Ruler of Authority] to its absolute limit.A localized shockwave of invisible, omnipotent pressure rippled outward from his figure, slamming directly into the three High Magi.

It did not strike their physical bodies to break their bones; instead, the law targeted their spiritual cores.

The moment the invisible wave passed through their white robes, the massive, centuries-old mana pools they had cultivated inside their spiritual veins were violently locked down.CRACK.A series of internal, spiritual snaps echoed within the Magi’s chests.

The golden solar wheel emblems embroidered on their clothing instantly tarnished, turning to a dull, dead gray as the holy enchantments within the fabric died.

The elemental wind streams supporting their weights vanished instantly.

However, they did not fall into the abyss.

Sargon’s authority law forcibly seized control of their local gravity.

Their bodies were locked in a rigid, upright kneeling position mid-air, suspended by an invisible vice that paralyzed every muscle from their necks down.

They were stripped of their magic, stripped of their movement, and stripped of their divine connection to the Zenith Heaven.”My…

my core…

I can’t feel the light…” the second Magus gasped, his eyes bulging as he tried to twitch a single finger.

The absolute paralysis of Sargon’s command had overwritten his nervous system entirely.”You will remain here,” Sargon commanded coldly, his voice echoing off the obsidian walls of the chasm.

“Your eyes will remain open. Your minds will remain clear. You have spent your entire lives guarding the vault of the Three Heavens. Now, you shall watch the true owner reclaim his inheritance.”

Leaving the three High Magi frozen like floating, pale statues in the middle of the canyon air, Sargon continued his descent.

He walked down the invisible staircase of compressed space, his movements fluid and unhurried, as the liquid starlight from the shattered barrier gently bathed his white hair in a faint, luminescent violet hue.The further down he walked, the more the colossal black ship below reacted to his approach. The Al-Me’raj.

The name willed into its hull before the stars were named.

It was easily five times larger than the Al-Staria, a leviathan crafted from a single, seamless piece of obsidian star-metal that seemed to absorb the ambient darkness of the canyon floor.

Its lines were sleek and sweeping, combining the majestic, fluid curves of ancient Arabic voyager vessels with a sharp, aggressive prow designed to cut through the literal fabric of dimensions.

As Sargon’s bare foot finally made contact with the main deck’s polished star-metal planks, a massive, deep thrum vibrated through the entire canyon.

It was a sound that felt less like a mechanical engine starting up and more like the low, rumbling growl of an apex predator waking up from a ten-billion-year slumber.Instantly, the millions of ancient, geometric runes carved along the ship’s flanks ignited.

They did not burn with the holy white light of the Zenith Heaven, nor the corrupt crimson fire of the Calamity Cult.

They flared into a vibrant, deep cosmic violet, pulsing in perfect, rhythmic synchronization with the heartbeat of Sargon’s Primordial Consciousness.

The three masts, towering like monoliths toward the canyon rim, suddenly groaned as their rigging moved on its own.

The massive sails, woven from pure, compressed dark matter that looked like liquid ink suspended in frames of gold, unfurled automatically.

They rippled against the starlight, drinking in the ambient energy of Aethelgard’s night sky, preparing the ship to sail the endless ocean of the multiverse.High above, suspended in their invisible cages of gravity, the three High Magi watched the awakening of the black ship in absolute, wordless horror.

They had spent their entire lives treating this canyon as a holy tomb, believing they were guarding a dead, un-activatable relic left behind by the creators.

To see it wake up, to see the ancient cosmic runes pulse with life at the mere touch of a slave’s foot, shattered their understanding of reality.

Sargon walked to the center of the main command deck, his fingers trailing along the smooth, cold ironwood railing that ran along the edge.

The ship was flawless.

Not a single speck of desert rust or temporal decay had touched its surface during its long exile beneath the sands.

It was a vessel built to endure the crushing tides of infinity, and it was finally whole.System, Sargon communicated inwardly, his voice echoing within his own mind as he looked down at the glowing violet runes.

The light swirled violently before condensing into a translucent, ethereal avatar.

It took the form of a majestic mechanical hawk, its feathers composed of shifting, glowing constellations and deep blue nebulae, its eyes burning with a calm, hyper-intelligent light.

“The long night is over,” the hawk avatar spoke, its voice a melodious, ringing chime that resounded directly within Sargon’s mind, bypassing the air entirely.

It lowered its constellation head in a deep, reverent bow.

“The Core Spirit of the Al-Me’raj greets the true Sovereign. For ten billion solar cycles, I have waited in the deep dark of Aethelgard. The sails are rigged, the coordinates of the infinite multiverse are unlocked, and the ship awaits your command to break the sky.”Sargon looked at the star-hawk, his face completely expressionless, though the spinning galaxies within his eyes flared with a deep, ancient satisfaction.

“Status of the barrier array surrounding this planet,” Sargon commanded mentally, his thoughts intertwining with the ship’s core.

“The Zenith Heaven has already noticed the erasure of their Justiciar.

We have less than twenty-four hours before their main vanguard deploys.””The world-boundary of Aethelgard is currently being reinforced by the higher celestial judges,” the Core Spirit replied, its wings shifting silently, sending small flakes of stellar dust drifting across the deck.

“They have locked the atmospheric exits using a secondary light matrix.

However, the Al-Me’raj runs on the absolute law of the Bornless Sea.

With your awakening energy, we can tear through their ceiling, but the frictional resistance will shake the lower realm.””Let it shake,” Sargon said coldly.

He turned his gaze back up toward the canyon rim, where the white hull of the Al-Staria was still resting against the golden dunes.

Kaelen was still standing at the steering wheel, his mind held in place by Sargon’s command.

Sargon raised his left hand, pointing his finger toward the small merchant ship.”[Ruler of Authority]: Descend.”The white sand-ship did not fire its engines.

Under the absolute gravitational command of Sargon’s voice, the Al-Staria was physically lifted from the desert dunes and lowered smoothly into the dark chasm.

It descended slowly, like a falling leaf, until its white ironwood hull settled directly alongside the massive, towering obsidian flank of the Al-Me’raj, looking like a small fishing boat parked next to a massive imperial warship.

Kaelen stepped over the railing, his boots clicking softly against the star-metal deck of the cosmic cruiser.

He walked slowly, his eyes wide and completely glazed over with that artificial, deep serenity forced upon him by Sargon’s law.

He knew nothing of the ancient history, nothing of the 6 Primordial Gods, and nothing of the Dark Trinity.

He only knew that the youth before him was his absolute master, an entity whose will could not be resisted by any soul in existence.Kaelen walked straight to the base of the grand obsidian mast, dropping to his knees and pressing his hands flat against the deck.”The ship is brought down, My Lord,” Kaelen whispered, his voice completely level and empty of personal will.

“The first servant awaits your instructions to secure the perimeter.”

“Stand at the secondary navigation helm,” Sargon ordered, walking past the kneeling mercenary toward the rear of the command deck, where a massive captain’s throne crafted from solid, unpolished obsidian star-stone sat overlooking the entire length of the vessel.

“We are leaving the sands of Aethelgard behind. The true ocean is waiting.”Sargon sat upon the throne, his long white hair cascading smoothly over the dark stone as his purple and gold embroidered robes settled around his frame.

He rested his right hand on the cool metal armrest, his fingers tapping a slow, rhythmic beat against the runes.

His pitch-black eyes looked straight up past the obsidian walls of the chasm, piercing through the atmosphere of the planet, focusing directly on the shimmering purple waves of the Ether Sea that rolled infinitely beyond the stars.

“Core Spirit,” Sargon commanded, his voice dropping to a low, chilling whisper that made the entire two-thousand-foot canyon vibrate.

“Engage the void drive.

Let the heavens know that the Void has come to reclaim its throne.””Command received, Sovereign,” the star-hawk chimed, its constellation form dissolving back into a torrent of pure liquid light that flooded into the main deck matrices. The entire chasm of the Gorgon’s Maw erupted into a deafening, thunderous roar that shook the very foundations of the Alexandria territory.

The ancient obsidian walls of the canyon began to crack and crumble into fine powder as a massive, blinding vortex of violet-black energy exploded from the rear thrusters of the Al-Me’raj.

The massive cosmic ship lifted effortlessly from the dirt floor, its dark matter sails expanding to their absolute limits as it turned its prow vertically upward, shooting toward the sky like a spear of absolute darkness aimed directly at the heart of the heavens. The first true voyage of the Sovereign had officially begun.
