17 – The Beautiful Young Lady Who Can Handle It
Jin Zhiren adjusted his glasses. “Are you really comfortable with her going there?”
“I’m not,” Fu Chenxuan replied calmly, his gaze fixed on Chu Ruan who was obediently listening to the doctor.
Jin Zhiren was taken aback. “Then why…”
Fu Chenxuan glanced sideways at Jin Zhiren, a hint of mockery in his eyes. “You’ll never understand.”
Only by letting her experience the hardships of the outside world would she truly appreciate the sweetness of his embrace.
This way, she would never easily leave his arms again.
Moreover, Chu Ruan’s attitude toward him had completely reversed now. He was enjoying this hard-won gentle moment and wouldn’t push her back to how she used to be.
He had always known how to play the long game to catch the big fish. He had always been patient.
If Ruan Ruan wanted to see the world outside, if she wanted to make her own way – fine. He would create such a world for her to fly freely in.
Yet she would never fly beyond his palm.
Fu Chenxuan couldn’t be bothered to explain to Jin Zhiren. Seeing the doctor stand up, he walked inside.
Chu Ruan smiled slightly and took his hand, showing him the medicine the doctor had prescribed.
Fu Chenxuan coaxed gently, “You’ll definitely get better.”
Jin Zhiren rolled his eyes behind them, shrugged and escorted the doctor out. When he returned hoping to get a free meal, Fu Chenxuan kicked him out again.
Fuming, Jin Zhiren stomped his feet at the door. “See if I ever help you again! There won’t be a next time, I’m telling you!”
After Yexiao completed the enrollment procedures, he called Fu Chenxuan. “Master, everything is settled.”
“I recall Huo Lin assigns classes based on ability, right?” Fu Chenxuan said while looking through documents.
Yexiao hummed in agreement. “But this ability isn’t just personal capability – it also includes status, background, and family connections.”
Fu Chenxuan put down the documents, his eyes deep and thoughtful. “So tell me, which class should Ruan Ruan be assigned to?”
Yexiao thought to himself that given the young madam’s capabilities, even being placed in the lowest F class would be overestimating her.
But he couldn’t say that – saying it would cost him his life.
“Of course Class S!” Yexiao immediately responded, buttering up from the other end of the line. “Our young madam is beautiful and capable, and with a husband like you, where else could she be but Class S?! Definitely S! I’ll go communicate with the school right now!”
“Remember, Ruan Ruan and I aren’t officially married yet. Keep other information, especially anything about me, concealed,” Fu Chenxuan said coldly.
First, he didn’t want to pressure Chu Ruan, as she was still a young girl in his eyes.
Second, he clearly knew that was Chen Gui’s territory.
Chen Gui and he had fallen out over a business deal years ago. He didn’t care about that himself, but he didn’t want Chu Ruan to be bullied at school because of it.
If anyone bullied her, he would repay them a hundredfold.
But the pain and humiliation would have already happened. Even if he killed all her bullies, it wouldn’t change anything – it wouldn’t stop her from hurting or feeling wronged.
Besides, in school, there were too many ways to make someone miserable.
So, unnecessary trouble should be avoided.
He didn’t want Chu Ruan to suffer even the slightest harm.
“Tell Nan Qing to get ready. He’ll be infiltrating Huo Lin Academy to watch over Ruan Ruan. Have Zuo Zhou take over Nan Qing’s current work,” Fu Chenxuan instructed methodically.
Yexiao responded enthusiastically, “Yes!”
Damn, that Nan Qing guy is lucky! Infiltrating the school means no more watching venues, moving goods, or taking bullets – plus he gets to check out pretty girls everywhere. What a sweet deal!Yexiao decided to immediately share this news with the brothers, then gang up on Nan Qing and beat him up!
Otherwise, this hatred wouldn’t be avenged! Hmph!
Fu Chenxuan hung up the phone, his gaze falling on the opened file.
On it, Chu Ruan’s photo was gently removed and placed in the drawer.
