Gurgle—

Her stomach rumbled right on cue, and Jiang Shiyue couldn't help but swallow.

Just as she was wondering if she should get up to eat something, the door was pushed open from the outside.Full novel: Spoiled Rotten After a Flash Marriage to a Rugged Man in the 70s — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Jiang Shiyue looked over and saw Gu Yian walking in against the light, carrying a bowl of steaming hot noodles. It was topped with a fried egg and sprinkled with chopped scallions, and it smelled delicious just from the aroma.

Jiang Shiyue sat on the bed, and although she was covered with a quilt, the marks on her neck and the bite mark on her shoulder were still visible, making him involuntarily recall the wildness of last night.

A flash of heat crossed Gu Yian's eyes. He finally averted his gaze, strode inside, and placed the bowl on the table. His tone was neither cold nor warm. "Since you're awake, come eat the noodles."

Jiang Shiyue pouted unhappily. No matter what, the two of them had been intimate. Even if he didn't like her, he didn't have to be so cold, did he?

However, considering the things the original owner had done, it was already a blessing that Gu Yian was willing to marry her. She couldn't have too high expectations.

After all, what man wouldn't mind his wife being a simp for another man, especially when they only got married to make that other man jealous?

The fact that Gu Yian was still willing to make her noodles made Jiang Shiyue feel that he was actually a pretty good person.

If it were her, forget making noodles, she probably wouldn't even give the person a sip of her saliva.

Because she had married him to make Liang Zeyuan jealous, the original owner hadn't brought her luggage over.

And her only set of clothes had been torn to shreds by Gu Yian last night.

At this thought, Jiang Shiyue's face flushed red. She stammered, "Um… Gu Yian, can you find me a set of clothes?"

She couldn't possibly eat naked, right?

At her words, Gu Yian stumbled, and a blush crept onto his bronze skin.

"Wait here," he said, then turned toward the wardrobe. He rummaged through it for a while before finally finding a set of clothes from his younger days. He placed them gently on the bed, then pulled out the last of his money and Coupons from his pocket. "This is all the money we have at home. You…"

Gu Yian wanted to tell her not to give it to Liang Zeyuan again, but on second thought, he decided against it to avoid upsetting her.

He changed his tune. "Just buy whatever you want."

After speaking, he turned away, not looking at Jiang Shiyue again. "I'm going out to work. I'll be back to cook later. You just rest well at home."

If he kept looking, he probably wouldn't be able to leave.

With that, Gu Yian immediately turned and left, giving Jiang Shiyue no chance to speak.

He was afraid she would say something he didn't want to hear.

Jiang Shiyue was stunned for a long moment before she realized what had happened. Thinking back to Gu Yian's hesitation, he was probably afraid she would give the money to Liang Zeyuan.

What a sin!

But with her stomach continuously gurgling, Jiang Shiyue didn't have the extra energy to think about the mess the original owner had left behind.

She put on the clothes and got out of bed. Her legs were still a bit weak as she did, and if she hadn't held onto the edge of the bed, she probably would have fallen to the floor.

By now, Jiang Shiyue was hungry enough to eat a cow. She even found the plain-tasting noodles delicious, finishing every last drop of soup until the bowl was sparkling clean.

With a full stomach, she finally remembered the panel she had seen earlier.

It was similar to a system, but not quite the same.

It couldn't talk, but it allowed for online transactions and had a variety of goods to choose from. It could also answer questions, so it could be considered a Golden Finger.

After some thought, she selected a few bottles of seasoning from the mall and casually handed over a piece of tissue paper she took from the bed.

The next second, several bottles of seasoning appeared on the table.

But along with the seasonings, there was also some change next to them.

Jiang Shiyue counted it. The few bottles of seasoning had only cost a few dimes. It was simply too magical!

She wanted to buy other things, but she was afraid that buying too much at once would make Gu Yian suspicious. It was better to take things slow; there was plenty of time.

After resting, Jiang Shiyue began to tour the home she would be living in from now on.

It was a large Tile-roofed House, about fifty square meters in total, with one master bedroom, one storage room, and a separate kitchen and bathroom.

Although the walls weren't plastered, the house was very well-maintained by Gu Yian and was very clean, which satisfied Jiang Shiyue quite a bit.

Thinking that the original owner's luggage was still at the Educated Youth Center, she felt it would be a pity to throw it away. Besides, there was money and Coupons in the suitcase. Without further delay, Jiang Shiyue followed the transparent GPS to the Educated Youth Center.

All Educated Youth sent to the countryside had to earn Work Points, with the original owner being the sole exception.

So when Jiang Shiyue arrived at the Educated Youth Center, there was no one inside, which made it convenient for her to pack her luggage.

She packed up everything that belonged to the original owner, not even sparing the used bar of soap. After she finished, she walked out of the Educated Youth Center without a second glance.

As luck would have it, she ran right into Liang Zeyuan, who had come back for a drink of water. Seeing Jiang Shiyue carrying large and small bags, Liang Zeyuan took the initiative to approach her. "Shiyue, where are you going with all these bags?"

Seeing the male lead from the book for the first time, Jiang Shiyue couldn't help but purse her lips.

To be honest, he wasn't even as good-looking as Gu Yian. She had no idea what the original owner saw in Liang Zeyuan to be so devoted to him.

He looked like a pretty boy, frail and delicate. Compared to a rugged man like Gu Yian, he wasn't even in the same league.

He was wearing a white shirt with the hem tucked into green Military Uniform Pants. A leather belt was fastened around his waist, and his cloth shoes were caked with mud. He was currently looking at her with a tender expression.

"I know you married Gu Yian to make me jealous, but Shiyue, you know my health is poor. I can only get on good terms with Lin Wan'er so her dad can arrange some lighter work for me."

He took a few steps closer. "You've always been the one in my heart. Once we return to the city, I'll definitely marry you."

Jiang Shiyue was about to gag.

Only a love-struck fool like the original owner would believe Liang Zeyuan's excuses.

If his health was so poor, why did he even come to the countryside? Wouldn't it be better to just stay in the city?

He clearly liked Lin Wan'er, but because he couldn't bear to give up the material support the original owner provided, he would constantly gaslight her.

Did he think he could treat people like idiots just because they didn't lose their temper?

Just as Jiang Shiyue was about to hit him, she suddenly remembered the money and Coupons the original owner had given Liang Zeyuan, which added up to one or two thousand yuan.

Jiang Shiyue huffed and turned her head away to avoid looking at Liang Zeyuan, lest she actually throw up. But her voice sounded like she was pouting. "You have the nerve to say that. They all say you're going to marry Lin Wan'er and stay here for good."

A flash of panic crossed Liang Zeyuan's eyes. He immediately said, "They're talking complete nonsense. My relationship with Lin Wan'er is purely one of comradeship. I've never thought about marrying her, much less staying here for good."

For now, at least, he had to keep Jiang Shiyue on the hook. Otherwise, the Work Points he earned each day wouldn't even be enough to cover his expenses.
