Chapter 22: The True World

SSS Awakening: In a New World with Dual God-Level Bloodlines

"I was not raised for leadership by my father. I was raised to be a scholar."

"Only my bastard brothers taught me anything about being a prince..." Arlo explained, which was likely the reason behind his low Charm stat.

"Let’s move on to Arcane Bloodlines..." Arlo mused aloud, as this was what truly piqued his interest the most.

[Arcane Bloodlines]

[Legendary Tier Bloodline: Nine Black Sun Shards]

[A Legendary Bloodline among the Lower and Middle Planes, but a common-grade bloodline in the Higher Planes. Grants the ability to control the Nine Attributes that are closest and dearest to the heart.]

[Divine Tier Bloodline: Infinity Joker Bloodline]

[A never-before-heard-of bloodline in the Lower and Middle Planes, and a True Bloodline in the Higher Planes. Grants the power of an anomaly from the Mad Dimension, an existence that defies the laws of reality itself and manifests according to rules that no sane mind could comprehend.]

"I don’t understand any of this..." Arlo mused to himself.

This wasn’t the power of the Nine Black Sun Shards that he knew. As for the Infinity Joker Bloodline, he had never even heard of it before.

[The truth behind these bloodlines is not something within your current understanding, but I’ll try my best to explain it to you...just this once.]

The system’s voice resounded in his head, and Arlo immediate focused.

[In the Universe, however you may know it, there are three major planes: The Lower Planes, the Middle Planes, and the Higher Planes.]

[Within these planes, bloodlines are one of the greatest sources of power and existence after Mana.]

[The higher your bloodline’s grade, the more value your existence holds to the Universe, or to put it more simply, the more reason the Universe itself has to allow you to exist.]

"Wow..."

[The Lower Planes divide bloodlines into five categories: Common, Rare, Mythic, Legendary, and Divine. The Divine Bloodline is the highest grade.]

[Your Nine Black Sun Shards is Legendary Bloodline, which can be considered the peak of what exists within the Lower Planes.]

"No wonder the Eclipsion Dynasty placed so much importance on my existence."

Arlo finally understood.

It had been written that the Nine Black Sun Shards grants the user a potential that could rival the talent of a god.

[But calling it a potential that rivals that of a god might be going a little too far.]

The system suddenly flashed and Arlo paused.

[Your Nine Black Sun Shard Bloodline is a powerful bloodline, and it has reached the highest grade possible within the Lower Planes.]

[But, in the Higher planes, were beings that are called ’gods’ by mortals exist. The Black Sun Legacy is still only a Common-grade bloodline. Nothing particularly special.]

It sounded like a demeaning action from the system, but Arlo wasn’t disappointed at all.

He had never prided himself on awakening the Nine Black Sun Shard so the comparison did little to stir him.

[Your second bloodline, the Infinity Joker Bloodline, might actually fit the description of ’a bloodline capable of rivaling that of a god’ better.]

[I’m fairly certain that even among the Higher Planes, it is special in its own right, whilst also being something that is non-existent in the lower planes.]

[That is about all I can tell you for now.]

"Hmm. So, you’re saying that if I’m able to cultivate the Infinity Joker Bloodline to absolute mastery, then one day I could possess enough power to rival beings in the Higher planes?"

Arlo pieced together the information he had been given.

[Yes.]

The power of a god... I wonder what level of power that actually is?

Arlo thought in confusion and awe.

He had no idea what level of strength was required to be called a god, but whatever it was, it certainly had to be an extraordinary level of power.

"That said, the description says it allows a person to control the attributes that are closest to their heart. If I’ve opened my first gate, then what is my attribute?"

[You should check the Arcane Masteries panel to find that out.]

The system’s response immediately drew Arlo’s attention toward the final attribute panel.

[Arcane Masteries]

[Skill Name: Vorath Transformation]

[Skill Level: 1]

[Transform into an abominable Vorath whose existence defies the rules of nature and disregards the natural laws of the universe as mortals understand them.]

[Cons: Inability to remain in this state for long due to incredibly high energy consumption. Produces a highly malodorous smell that reeks of death and decay.]

[Skill Name: Dark Magic Manipulation]

[Skill Level: 1]

[Grants the ability to manipulate one of the most sinister and malevolent forces in the cosmos. A magic that reeks of death and destruction.]

[Cons: Vorath Magic recognizes no one, and that includes you.]

_______________

Arlo simply stared blankly at the golden notification panel; unable to even know what to think

"Wait, Vorath Transformation? Like The Voraths...the ones attacking the Humans?"

"What have I got to do with them?"

"Dark Magic? How is that...? What’s that got to do with the Black Sun?"

The Black Sun First Skill back in Umbrasol started as a simple black flame.

That was what everyone awakened, irrespective of the number of shards and he had been expecting that.

But this...Vorath and Dark Magic? How did that even come to be?

In that moment, the system panel flashed,

[...]
