The forest grew ever more mysterious as they ventured deeper.

The light shifted from a vibrant green to a shimmering gold, while the underbrush whispered and rustled in patterns that didn’t match the breeze.

Dom’s ears twitched at faint sounds just beyond hearing, heightening his senses.Full novel: SSS Grade System Glitch: Every Quest Gives Me Broken Rewards — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Noxie had fallen silent, her monologue ceased—indicating she sensed it too.

The forest was alive, watching them.

“Something’s creeping behind us,” she whispered softly.

“I know,” Dom replied.

“It’s been stalking us since the first fight. Still undecided whether to attack or wait.”

ActuallyADruid: THE FOREST IS TOO QUIET

KravenMoHead34: @ActuallyADruid quiet forests are the worst forests

Suddenly, the system chimed in, bright and upbeat.

[Viewer Challenge!!]

[Challenge: Dom must narrate the next fight like a nature documentary.]

[Current Backing: $2,500 in viewer donations.]

[Reward: [Spore Resistance Potion] + 500 EXP.]

Dom’s eye twitched as he read the message.

“The chat wants me to narrate the next fight like a nature documentary,” he said dryly.

Noxie’s face lit up with excitement.

“That’s the coolest challenge I’ve ever heard! Do it right away!”

“Of course you’d say that,” Dom shot back.

“I’d have accepted it even before the system finished reading the challenge,” Noxie grinned.

Emma chuckled softly, a gentle smile on her lips.

“Honestly, I’d love to hear that.”

Dom sighed heavily.

“Fine. But if it’s stupid, I’m blaming all of you.”

MomsCreditCard: DOM IS GOING TO NARRATE.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

PixelSlvt: @MomsCreditCard PEAK CONTENT INCOMING

The forest quickly brought forth a monstrous challenge.

“The universe likes to joke,” Dom observed as the creature burst through the undergrowth—a bizarre, multi-legged beast with a body reminiscent of a wolf blended with a centipede.

Its movements were frantic, torn between attack and escape.

Dom drew his blades, stepping forward with resolve.

He studied the monster intently.

“Guess the universe is sharing a laugh too, huh?” he said.

Behind him, Emma giggled softly.

“Maybe it heard the challenge,” she teased.

“The monster heard the challenge?” Dom asked, raising an eyebrow.

“The universe did,” Emma replied with a grin.

“And it’s keen to watch the show.”

Noxie chuckled.

“I like this universe.”

BussyBlaster9000 quipped, “Emma’s cracking jokes. Never thought I’d see the day.”

MomsCreditCard chimed in, “She’s getting bold. We love to see it.”

Then BussyBlaster9000 added, “And here comes the catboy—the dungeon’s top predator—filmed by invisible cameras and judged by thousands who paid good money for this spectacle.”

He sidestepped a lunge, watching the claws swipe through empty air.

“Notice the subtle footwork,” he continued.

“The attack is fierce but predictable. The catboy’s seen this move before. He’s unimpressed.”

Emma’s ward flared as the creature’s tail whipped around.

Dom ducked just in time.

“The support unit—” Dom began, but Noxie’s laughter interrupted him.

“—has decided to help from afar. Smart move, considering her past close calls.”

Noxie’s added.

“Excuse me—”

“The fairy unit’s here too, providing light and emotional backup,” Lume added cheerfully.

“She’s the only one who hasn’t embarrassed herself today.”

GoblinSlayer69: “The fairy is the only one who hasn’t embarrassed herself” 💀

PixelSlvt: @GoblinSlayer69 Lume keeps winning.

Dom drove his blade into the creature’s skull with a decisive strike.

It collapsed, twitched once in shock, then went still.

“The catboy has claimed his kill. The fight lasted only forty seconds. He wonders why the monster even bothered.”

Suddenly, the system chimed loudly.

[Challenge Complete!!]

[Reward: Spore Resistance Potion + 500 EXP + $1,250 bonus payout.]

“Next challenge. Let’s see if we can make it less annoying.”

“Absolutely not,” Noxie replied, still grinning mischievously.

“That was the best content I’ve ever been a part of.”

Emma kept smiling, her earlier snicker lingering at the corners of her mouth.

“I think the universe enjoyed it too.”

“The universe can mind its own business,” Dom shot back.

They pressed on through the forest, which grew darker and more oppressive.

The air thickened, and the undergrowth rustled ominously behind them.

Something was still lurking, still following them.

The trail suddenly opened into a clearing, causing them to halt in awe.

Before them stood colossal mushrooms, gargantuan, impossible to ignore.

Each cap shimmered with swirling hues of pink, violet, and deep blue, pulsating like a slow heartbeat.

Luminescent spores floated through the air like shimmering dust, thick enough to taste.

It was breathtaking yet unmistakably perilous.

“Oh,” Noxie exhaled, eyes wide.

“That’s… not in any dungeon guide I’ve ever read.”

“They’re not in any record,” Emma whispered, voice tinged with wonder.

“I’ve never seen anything like this.”

BussyBlaster9000: THOSE ARE HUGE.

ActuallyADruid: @BussyBlaster9000 no known species matches these.

We’re witnessing a discovery.

MomsCreditCard: @ActuallyADruid a PRETTY incredible find.

Dom’s gaze narrowed as the shimmering spores danced in the air, making the atmosphere hum with danger.

He felt a faint, prickling buzz at the back of his mind, a warning.

The system’s urgent voice cut through:

[Warning: Psychoactive spores detected. Host is being affected. Recommended action: consume Spore Resistance Potion immediately.]

Without hesitation, Dom grabbed the vial from his inventory and gulped it down.

Warmth bloomed in his chest, and the fog of confusion began to lift, though not entirely.

His head cleared, and his vision steadied, but he knew better than to let his guard down.

The girls weren’t so fortunate.

The spores hit them swiftly.

Emma wavered first, tilting her head as if listening to a secret no one else could hear.

“The mushrooms are singing,” she whispered, her voice dreamy.

“They’re singing about… how beautiful everything is—the trees, the light, you.”

Dom blinked, puzzled.

“Me?”

“Especially you,” Emma answered softly.

She drifted toward him, unsteady but purposeful.

“You’re beautiful, Dom. Like a forest after rain.”

Noxie burst into giggles.

“She’s not wrong. You’re like a grumpy forest spirit with fluffy ears.” She reached out, fingers brushing the air near his head.

“Can I touch them? Just once? I’ve thought about it all day.”

“No.”

“Please?” Her green eyes shone brightly as she stepped closer.

“They’re just sitting there, soft and cute. It’s so unfair.”

“Life’s not fair,” Dom replied, trying to stay composed.

Noxie pouted, a pout so adorable it could end arguments before they started.

“You’re no fun when you’re all serious and upright.”

Emma had reached him now, her body pressing against his side without hesitation.

Her hand found his chest, fingers curling into his jacket.

“Your heart is beating so fast,” she whispered.

“Is it because of me?”

“It’s the poison mushrooms,” he managed.

“I don’t think so, the mushrooms are not poisonous, silly,” Emma said softly, tilting her head up.

Her pale green eyes were gentle and unfocused.

“it’s because of me—and maybe Noxie. We’re quite tempting aren’t we?”

Noxie appeared at his other side, her warm body close to his arm.

“That’s the nicest compliment I’ve ever received, Emma.” She traced a finger down Dom’s chest, a lazy grin on her face.

“You’re handling it well. Very composed. Very… upright.”

“I’m trying to get us out of here,” Dom said, voice steady.

“Hmm, but wouldn’t it be nice to stay? Just a little while longer,” Emma whispered, her hand lightly caressing his collar. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

“The forest wants us here. The mushrooms want us here. Don’t you think?”

Dom wasn’t equipped for this.

The potion kept his mind clear, but his body was very aware of two warm, uninhibited women pressed against him in the glowing mushroom forest.

His thoughts were drifting, and the chat was losing its collective mind.

BussyBlaster9000: Dom.exe has stopped working 😭🤣 xXDungeonDaddyXx: two high queens and one sober catboy.

this is art😂😂

MomsCreditCard: @xXDungeonDaddyXx this is the most chaotic scene in streaming history.

i’m framing it.

Dom’s voice was sharp with urgency.

“We need to leave. Now. Before you both—”

Emma’s fingers brushed his chin, turning his face to meet hers.

Her eyes were wide, luminous, unguarded, full of emotion.

“You worry too much,” she whispered softly.

“Everything’s perfect right now—the forest, the light, you. Everything’s beautiful.”

Noxie, still unsteady but functioning, leaned against his shoulder with a crooked grin that was both sloppy and genuine.

“She’s so right, we could just hang around” she said, her voice a little slurred.

“Both of you will remember this,” Dom replied, his tone flat but firm.

“And I’ll make sure of it.”

Noxie’s grin spread wider.

“Promise?”

Dom reached out, gently gripping Emma’s wrist and easing her away.

Then he did the same to Noxie, who stumbled but kept laughing.

“We’re leaving. Now. Walk.”

“But the mushrooms are—”

“Walk. Now.”

They made it four steps before Emma’s legs buckled.

Dom caught her effortlessly.

A moment later, Noxie’s balance finally gave out too, she slumped against him with a breathless laugh, her body going limp.

The system’s voice chimed, cheerful as always.

“Of course,” Dom muttered, already adjusting his grip.

“Of course this is happening.”

With a practiced motion, he hoisted Emma over one shoulder and Noxie over the other, as comfortable and efficient as a seasoned rescuer carrying wounded hunters from the deadliest places.

The weight was nothing.

The situation, however, was far from it.

Dom caught a glimpse of the chat as he walked, his jaw tightening despite not slowing down.

His mind raced with the mischievousness of the scene unfolding behind him.

PixelSlvt: Emma’s face is pressed against his back, and I’ve never been more jealous in my life!

He spoke calmly, “Glad you’re all enjoying the show. Some of us are working.”

BussyBlaster9000: HE SAW THE COMMENTS!

MomsCreditCard: @BussyBlaster9000, he always sees the comments, just chooses to ignore them.

He adjusted his grip and kept walking, the potion sharpening his focus as he navigated the drifting spores.

Finally, as they emerged from the mushroom field, Dom carefully lowered both women onto a patch of soft moss.

They were still unconscious, but their breathing stabilized, and color returned to their faces.

Suddenly, the system chimed,

[Challenge Complete!!]

[Reward: Titan’s Grip — Permanent +50% Strength.]

Dom leaned against a tree, not from exhaustion, but from the absurdity of the hour.

He pulled out a water bottle, took a long drink, then splashed some on his face for good measure.

The chat quieted, waiting for the girls to wake up, all of them eager to see what would happen next.
