Study Hall
Today, the house was strangely quiet.
There was no training.
My aunt had departed alongside my mother for a clan meeting that, according to the rumors, could end badly.
As a precaution, they took a small detachment of Dark Wolf Guardians with them…
and, of course, my aunt.
When clan leaders begin mobilizing warriors, it means words may no longer be enough.
I wanted to learn a little more about my clan, as well as the clans and Houses of Mandalore and Concordia, since that information would be very important for my future plans.
The truth was, there was too much information.
I didn’t know where to begin.
Then an ancient holocron caught my attention.
It gave off a feeling of mystery and antiquity.
I had never seen it before.
I always came to the study in search of knowledge, but this was the first time I had seen a holocron different from the ones I usually used.
I approached the shelf where it rested.
It felt as though it were calling to me…
as though it were whispering to me.
I raised my hand and picked it up.
Instantly, I felt as if my body weighed twice as much, as though I were carrying logs strapped to my back.
I began to sweat and breathe heavily through my nose.
I never thought it would be so heavy.
How was it possible for that damned shelf to support it?
I tried to calm my mind and focus for a moment.
I carried it toward the study table.
My footsteps sounded heavy, and my legs trembled.
It felt like a damned eternity before I finally placed it on the table.
Suddenly, all that weight disappeared.
I had sweated quite a bit.
My entire back was soaked.
“Damn! What was that?” I thought.
I stared at it for a moment.
I didn’t know where to start.
It was different from the other electronic holocrons in the study, which only required pressing a small button to access all their information.
They projected a hologram similar to a book.
But this one was different.
I couldn’t find any way to access its contents.
I began searching through my memories.
Maybe I would find the answer.
I started pacing back and forth.
My brain had always worked better that way.
Holocron…
Who else used this technology?
I began to think.
Then I remembered.
Of course.
The Jedi…
and the Sith.
This was similar to the ones they used to pass down their teachings.
And the only way to open them was through the Force.
I immediately approached and placed my hands on the holocron.
The previous sensation returned.
Damn…
how was that possible when I wasn’t even lifting it?
I began to focus and tried to channel the Force into the object.
At first, nothing happened.
I was already growing exhausted when I thought it had all been pointless.
Suddenly, my vision began to blur.
My mind started spinning.
And, in the next moment…
I found myself in darkness.
As if I had been reborn once again.
I heard a soft and ethereal voice behind me.
I turned around.
For an instant, I was blinded by the light emanating from the figure before me.
Little by little, my vision returned.
And then I saw her.
A beautiful woman with silver hair, delicately arched eyebrows, a perfect nose, and blue eyes that shone like stars.
She wore a robe as black as the night, one that seemed to float around her body.
She looked like an ethereal fairy suspended within the void.
“Have you finished staring at me, young cub?” she asked in a slightly teasing tone.
I immediately regained my composure.
“My apologies, fair lady. I meant no offense. I was simply… admiring your beauty.”
She let out a light snort before continuing.
“You’re probably wondering where you are and how you arrived here. Allow me to answer that. But first, I should introduce myself.”
She gave a slight bow.
“I am the guardian of this Library of Knowledge. My creator named me Athena. I am an ethereal entity without a physical body, but I can exist thanks to my connection to the Force.”
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Guardian Athena. My name is Azmar Fen’ruus,” I replied politely.
She nodded.
“I brought you here through the Force. Only your consciousness may enter this world, while your body remains within an ethereal space between reality and imagination. No one will be able to touch you.”
Then she observed me with interest.
“I waited a very long time for a worthy descendant… and it seems I have finally found one.”
Her words left me bewildered.
“Only the descendants of the great Droll, tamer of the giant Fenrir, can enter this place,” she continued.
“But that is not the only condition. They must also be sensitive to the Force.”
He looked at me intently.
“You are the first in centuries to fulfill both requirements.”
I was completely stunned.
I never imagined finding myself in a situation like this.
But I refused to let the surprise paralyze me.
“I have a few questions,” I said, trying to remain calm.
“Why has no one in the clan ever heard of you? And what is your purpose?”
Athena smiled faintly.
“A good question.”
She began walking slowly through the dark space.
“Very few have come into contact with me. I can move through this space and go unnoticed. I only appear when I consider it necessary.”
She stopped.
“As for my purpose… it is simple.”
“To find an heir.”
Her eyes shone with an ancient glimmer.
“My memories go back more than two thousand years, to the time when your ancestor created me to pass on his legacy.”
My curiosity immediately awakened.
“Could you tell me about him?”
Athena nodded.
“He did not leave much information about his origins, but he did leave a few stories.”
Her voice became more solemn.
“He was a great warrior who managed to form his own clan. He successfully tamed an ancient pack of wolves on Concordia, which brought fame to his bloodline.”
Then she continued:
“But one day, while hunting in the forests, something strange happened. A nearby mountain began to collapse, and strange spatial rifts appeared, tearing apart everything in their path.”
She paused.
“After what seemed like an eternity, the rifts disappeared.”
Everything returned to normal.
But your ancestor feared that phenomenon might happen again.
So he went to investigate.
After a long journey, he arrived at the place where the mountain had once stood.
Nothing remained but rubble.
While searching for clues, he found a path among the rocks.
And then he saw it.
A young black wolf with gray streaks on its legs.
Its eyes looked like a sky full of stars.
“That wolf spoke directly into his mind,” Athena continued.
“His name was Fenrir.”
“Bearer of chaos, destruction… and destiny.” You are reading on g.com, the official source.
From that day on, they formed a bond of friendship.
Fenrir grew larger than any other wolf.
He could communicate through thoughts alone.
With his help, the clan prospered.
Over time, Fenrir reached a colossal size.
He could alter space, open dimensional rifts, and travel across the universe.
Despite his power, they never sought to conquer other worlds.
They only wished to protect and help their clan prosper.
Athena fell silent.
“That is all I can tell you about my creator.”
The story left me astonished.
I never imagined hearing something like that.
But before I could think too much about it, Athena spoke again.
“We must continue.”
I nodded.
“This holocron was created exclusively for descendants who are both worthy and Force-sensitive,” she explained.
“Its purpose is to find an heir worthy of inheriting my creator’s complete legacy.”
She looked at me intently.
“But there is a trial.”
I swallowed.
“And if I fail?”
“Then you will lose all memories of having been here,” she replied calmly.
“You will never know of my existence again.”
Until now…
No one has ever passed the trial.
A chill ran down my spine.
But so did a surge of excitement.
If I could overcome it…
I could take my clan to a whole new level.
“I have another question,” I said.
“If I obtain this inheritance… will there be any restrictions?”
Nothing in this universe came for free.
Athena shook her head.
“My creator left only one condition: that the heir be his descendant and pass the trial.”
“Nothing more.”
“You will not be bound to anyone’s will.”
“And I shall serve the new bearer of the legacy.”
I felt relieved.
The Force also confirmed that she was not lying.
“Then only one question remains,” Athena said.
“Are you ready to face the trial?”
I took a deep breath.
I would be an idiot to let an opportunity like this pass by.
“Yes.”
“I’m ready.”
Athena raised her hand.
The space around us changed.
Now we stood before a massive white door covered in patterns that seemed to represent the universe itself.
“Enter,” she said calmly.
“The trial awaits you on the other side.”
I walked toward the door in silence.
With anticipation.
And with fear.
I did not fear death.
I feared failure.
I feared losing this unique opportunity.
I steeled my resolve.
And moved forward.
Failure was not an option.
Because the future of Clan Fen’ruus…
Was now in my hands.
