Restart?

[Yes]

Back on the enormous cosmic spider web, Charlie slowly let out a breath before tapping [Restart].

Restarting the Resurrection Match…

That…

Was his true cheat.

Every restart granted a small reward.

It wasn’t much at a time, but little by little, he’d eventually catch up to the other Spider-Men.

A mysterious power flowed into his body.

His bones cracked softly as his muscles became denser, every inch of his body feeling noticeably lighter and stronger.

Previously, his strength had been a pitiful one ton.

An increase of 0.1 tons might be insignificant to other Spider-Men…

But for Charlie, it was a full ten percent improvement.

As his strength increased, so did his physical condition and every other attribute.

It also meant he didn’t have to worry about one stat growing too quickly and throwing his body out of balance.

If he could win this Resurrection Match…

The reward of ten additional tons of strength would be enough to escape the Green Goblin’s relentless pursuit.

Thanks to his first attempt, he’d already learned a great deal.

Participant Peter Parker was the Lizard.

His strength was terrifying.

At the very least…

More than twenty tons.

His durability was even more absurd.

Although the Lizard wasn’t especially fast…

If Charlie’s unreliable Spider-Sense failed to react in time, there was no chance of dodging his attacks.

Then there were the Chitauri soldiers.

Charlie might barely handle one or two by himself.

But ten at once?

Absolutely impossible.

As for Tony…

“Iron Man with nanotech armor…”

Charlie rubbed his chin.

“Could this be Tony from Infinity War?”

That made things troublesome.

The firepower of the Mark 50 armor was easily enough to dominate this Resurrection Match.

If this were Tony from Endgame…

The version who snapped away Thanos…

Even the Mad Titan himself would’ve had to eat a punch.

Charlie simply had no chance of beating him.

By the time he wins this Resurrection Match, he’ll probably be heading into Avengers 6…

Still…

He had to keep testing things.

The thought had barely crossed his mind before the void swallowed him once more.

He returned to New York from The Amazing Spider-Man universe.

Scenario: The Amazing Spider-Man Universe

Mission: Reach the Clock Tower and save Gwen Stacy from falling.

The second Resurrection Match.

The exact same mission.

Charlie landed on the glass wall of a skyscraper.

Since the match hadn’t officially started, he couldn’t leave his spawn point.

Thinking back on the previous run, he began piecing things together.

Tony and the Chitauri had much faster methods of travel.

That probably meant they started farther away from the clock tower.

Lizard Parker, on the other hand, moved more slowly but arrived almost simultaneously with Charlie.

His spawn point was obviously much closer.

Everyone reached the battlefield at nearly the same time.

The starting locations…

Clearly weren’t random.

Thirty seconds later…

The countdown reached zero.

Charlie vaulted off the building.

The wind roared around him as he fired a web and swung downward—

Only to dive straight into a dark alley below.

This time…

He wasn’t planning to rush in first.

However…

The moment he landed…

He froze.

A half-dressed couple was hiding behind a dumpster, glaring furiously toward the darkness.

“Holy shit!”

“There’s a pervert spying on us!”

“Get lost!”

“Or I’ll break your little buddy!”

Charlie:

“…”

Seriously?

This run starts like this?

At that moment, several blazing streaks of fire roared across the sky overhead.

Charlie glanced at the still-yelling couple.

Then…

He fired a web.

The dumpster in front of them shot sideways.

“You bastard!”

“What are you doing?!”

“I swear I’ll flush your eyeballs down the sewer!”

Thwip!

Another web shot out.

Their clothes instantly disappeared.

Right in front of the stunned couple, Charlie casually whistled while wrapping all their clothes inside a giant web bundle.

Then…

He hung the bundle on a wall over thirty feet high.

“See you later, you two shameless lovebirds.”

“Next time…”

“Try covering your faces.”

With that, he leaped onto the wall and swung away.

Racing toward the clock tower, Charlie kept his eyes fixed on the flashes of fire ahead.

High above the city…

The Chitauri relentlessly bombarded Tony Stark with energy blasts.

Tony effortlessly dodged every shot.

Following from a distance, Charlie quickly found himself falling behind.

“Spider-Man!”

Someone shouted below.

“No…”

“Spider-Man’s still over at the power station!”

A few moments later, amid the crowd’s confused cries, Charlie landed calmly on a residential rooftop near the clock tower.

By now…

Things had already become lively.

“Peter!”

“We were best friends!”

“But even after everything…”

“You wouldn’t even give me a single drop of your blood!”

“So…”

“Hahahaha!”

“Now you can experience despair too!”

At the top of the clock tower, Harry Osborn—his face twisted into something monstrous—laughed maniacally.

Without hesitation…

He threw Gwen Stacy off the tower.

“NO!!”

Peter Parker cried out.

He immediately dove after her.

Web after web shot from his wrists.

The falling Gwen was finally caught.

But—

BOOM!!

A pumpkin bomb exploded.

The raging flames engulfed everything.

Peter’s web dissolved in the intense heat.

Blasted by the explosion…

Gwen continued plummeting toward the ground.

“Hahahaha!”

“Despair, Peter!”

Harry roared with laughter.

“NO!!”

Peter’s eyes widened.

Just as he tried to charge through the explosion—

Harry intercepted him.

There was no way to reach Gwen in time.

At that very moment…

A massive green lizard scaled the outside of the clock tower before launching itself toward Gwen.

“Professor Connors?!”

Peter gasped.

But Professor Connors had already…

Before he could finish the thought—

Just as Lizard Parker was about to catch Gwen…

A streak of blazing light tore through the night.

Tony Stark.

His overwhelming firepower slammed directly into the Lizard.

BOOM!!

The explosion blasted Lizard Parker straight through the side of the clock tower.

Gears and debris erupted everywhere.

As he crashed inside…

Gwen slipped farther and farther from his reach.

“…No…”

The next instant…

Tony swooped in from above.

The floating nanotech modules behind him shot ahead at incredible speed.

In the blink of an eye…

They reached Gwen.

The nanomachines formed a platform beneath her, stopping her fall.

“…Was that a lizard just now?”

Tony blinked.

“Sir.”

Friday immediately answered.

“According to my search results…”

“Lizards are reptiles belonging to the family Lacertidae—”

“Friday.”

Tony sighed.

“You’re funny.”

“Thank you.”

Seeing Iron Man swoop in, Harry flew into a rage.

He hurled a storm of pumpkin bombs downward.

“You freaks…”

“You can’t save her!”

Peter’s expression changed instantly.

“No!”

He fired webs while diving after Gwen.

But he only managed to catch two of the bombs.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The clock tower exploded repeatedly.

Peter was blown away by the shockwave.

The giant clock face slowly tipped over…

Then crashed straight toward Tony.

“What a headache.”

“…JARVIS.”

He paused.

“No.”

“Friday.”

“Understood, sir.”

Nanometal flowed across Tony’s shoulders.

Several miniature missiles launched simultaneously.

BOOM!

The massive clock shattered into countless fragments.

Tony was just about to shield Gwen from the falling glass…

When the Chitauri attacked.

Laser fire rained down endlessly.

Tony had no choice but to evade while unleashing the full firepower of his nanotech weapons.

For him…

Eliminating a handful of Chitauri wasn’t difficult.

But…

Gwen didn’t have that much time.

BOOM!!

Another deafening explosion echoed through the tower.

Lizard Parker burst through the wall, smashing a huge hole before lunging back into the air.

This time…

He finally caught Gwen.

A smile appeared on his monstrous face.

“I won’t let you die.”

Cradled in the Lizard’s arms, Gwen stared nervously at the terrifying creature before her.

Yet somehow…

She noticed the sadness hidden in his eyes.

It was a strange look.

Almost as though…

CRASH!!

The ground beneath the clock tower shattered.

They slammed into the floor with tremendous force, creating a giant spiderweb-shaped crater.

Inside Lizard Parker’s embrace…

Gwen was bleeding from every opening on her face.

His body…

Had failed to cushion the impact.

“…No…”

Watching Gwen convulse while coughing up blood…

Lizard Parker threw back his head and let out a heart-wrenching roar.

He clutched his head in despair.

Standing on a nearby balcony…

Charlie arrived one step too late.

Silence.

“…Seriously.”

“Everyone was fighting over who got to save her…”

“And somehow she ended up dying even worse.”

He shrugged.

“Whatever.”

“Restart.”
