"Please, come again!"

"Goodbye, boss."

After bidding farewell to the owner, a guy in his mid-twenties stepped out of the izakaya and wrapped an arm around a handsome, youthful-looking man named Yuuki.Full novel: Starting From Fairy Tail: Chasing Girls in Another World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Man, Yuuki got all the girls' attention again. Kuh! I'm so jealous of you, you handsome bastard!"

"It's not like I chose to have this handsome appearance. You're just unlucky enough not to have inherited good genes from a handsome father and a beautiful mother." Yuuki said casually, teasing his coworker, who looked like he'd just eaten a mouthful of dung.

His name was Tenma Yuuki. Although he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Yuuki never relied on his parents to succeed. Instead, he started from the bottom and worked his way up through sheer effort and determination.

Now, at only his early-twenties, Yuuki had risen to the position of Director at a major company.

His coworker could only shake his head helplessly at Yuuki's response. He was already used to Yuuki's nonchalant and slightly narcissistic personality.

"You really don't know the meaning of the word humble, do you?"

Hearing his coworker's grumble, Yuuki simply snickered and patted him on the shoulder as if consoling him.

"Well, don't let it bother you. Who knows? Maybe you'll get a girlfriend tomorrow or something."

"Or something? Am I supposed to date an alien or yokai?!"

His coworker was speechless and stared at Yuuki with his mouth agape, causing Yuuki to burst out laughing at his reaction.

The two continued to bicker and joke with each other as they walked home. Eventually, they reached a crossroads where they had to go their separate ways.

"I have to go this way. See you tomorrow, you lucky bastard. By the way, don't get stabbed by some girl whose heart you broke."

"Yeah, see you tomorrow. And don't spend too much time reading that magazine you just bought."

"You!"

"Ahahaha!"

His coworker had intended to make fun of Yuuki, but he never expected to be the one who ended up embarrassed. Seeing his coworker's flustered reaction, Yuuki couldn't help but laugh out loud.

In the end, the two of them finally went their separate ways, each heading home along their own route.

It was already late at night, around 11 PM. Yuuki walked through the quiet, dimly lit streets. He was still slightly tipsy from the alcohol. He held one hand against his head, trying to steady himself as he made his way home.

"Ugh, I drank too much."

Yuuki arrived at the side of the crosswalk and waited for the red light to turn green. Even though there wasn't a single car in sight, he still followed the law and patiently waited for the signal.

Fortunately, he didn't have to wait long. After about a minute, the light finally turned green.

Seeing the signal turn green, Yuuki stepped onto the crosswalk and began making his way across the road, while one hand still clutching his head as the alcohol continued to cloud his senses.

"I swear, those girls at the izakaya really know how to drink."

Thinking about the pretty women he and his coworker had been drinking with earlier made Yuuki shake his head and let out a wry laugh.

The night was quiet, and there were barely any people out on the streets at this hour.

Yuuki was already halfway across the road when, suddenly, a truck appeared out of nowhere like a ghost, rushing toward him at an insanely high speed.

Because of the sudden appearance of the truck and he was still a little drunk, Yuuki wasn't able to react in time. Frozen in the middle of the road, he could only stare at the rapidly approaching truck as a single thought flashed through his mind...

"Truck-kun?"

CRASH!

That was the last thought that crossed Yuuki's mind before the truck slammed into him.

"Ugh, my head..."

Waking up and supporting himself with his hands, Yuuki shook his head groggily before slowly opening his eyes. However, despite usually being a calm and composed person, even Yuuki couldn't help but be stunned by the sight before him.

An endless expanse of grass stretched out before him, while towering mountains extends in the distance. The scenery was unlike anything he had ever seen back in Japan.

From time to time, strange creatures could be seen wandering across the grassland.

"Wait... was that an animal?"

Yuuki narrowed his eyes.

"...Or was it a monster?"

Not only that, Yuuki could feel how refreshing the air around him was. Unlike the city, which was filled with exhaust fumes and other pollutants, the breeze here was clean and pleasant.

Everything about this place felt completely foreign and unfamiliar to him.

Although Yuuki had been shocked at first, he had now regained his composure. He began piecing together the events of the previous night, trying to figure out how he had ended up in such a strange place.

"I remember drinking with my coworker and those ladies at the izakaya. Then we went our separate ways when we headed home, and then..."

As if remembering something, Yuuki's expression stiffened in disbelief. However, it lasted only for a moment before he sighed and let out an exhausted laugh.

Looking up at the clear blue sky, Yuuki couldn't help but complain to the heavens.

"I'm still young! How could I die just like that?! Despite my playboy personality, I haven't even graduated from my V-card yet!"

Yuuki's outburst lasted only a few seconds before he lowered his head with a sigh. "I'm dead now. I don't even know if I'm in Heaven or Hell.

Ding!

[System Initiation Begin.]

As though responding to his words, an unfamiliar indifferent female voice suddenly rang out in his mind, causing Yuuki to flinch and look around in confusion.

"Who said that?" He glanced left and right, but there was no one around.

But then, Yuuki thought of what the voice just said.

"System? Huh?"

Yuuki's eyes widened.

"Does that mean... I got a system and was transmigrated into another world?!"

Instead of being shocked, Yuuki was elated. His eyes lit up and a grin spread across his face, as he could barely contain his excitement.

"Hahaha! Finally, my turn has come! Bwahahaha!"

Yuuki burst into a delighted laugh. However, his celebration was abruptly interrupted by a series of notifications from the system, causing him to fall silent.

[Host detected.]

[Beginning synchronization with host.]

[Establishing soul connection…]

"Still, this voice is really pleasant to hear. Although it sounded a little indifferent, the voice also contains a mature but young onee-san next door tone, cold on the outside, but actually warm on the inside."

Yuuki didn't treat the system like a mere system at all. In his mind, he had already imagined its voice belonging to a beautiful mature woman.

[Binding System to Host.]

[Soul signature confirmed.]

[System integration: 12%… 47%… 89%… 100%.]

[Integration complete.]

[Host successfully registered.]

[Welcome, Tenma Yuuki.]

After the system finished binding itself to him, a transparent interface appeared before Yuuki, displaying several available functions.

Among them were Status, Shop, and Check In, along with several other features that were currently inaccessible.

"Check in? What's that suppose to mean?" Yuuki stared at the Check In interface. It resembled a calendar, with each day displaying a hidden reward. The whole thing reminded him of the daily check in rewards from the gacha games he used to play back on Earth.

Detecting his question, the system immediately responded.

[Host, the Check In feature is the system's primary function. Through it, you can obtain abilities, weapons, items, and other unique things from various anime worlds.]

[Host only needs to claim the Check In reward every day to receive a random item.]

Hearing the system's soft yet slightly cold voice, Yuuki's eyes began to shine with excitement. The fact that he could obtain all sorts of things simply by checking in each day made him even more elated.

"Ohoh. Now this is more like it. So, I can get stronger just by Checking in every day."

[...Exactly.]

"Hmm?"

For some reason, Yuuki felt that there was something slightly off about the system's tone. However, his excitement quickly overshadowed his suspicions, and he casually brushed the thought aside.

"Then I'll claim my check in reward for today!"

With excitement written all over his face, Yuuki pressed the claim button on the system interface.
