Gong Ding Chen generously gave the female lead role that originally belonged to Chen Man Xi to Yan Xi.
He even promised Yan Xi that he wouldn’t interfere with the shooting, publicity and post-production of this drama, <Qing Shi Ming Yue>. Besides that, there was nothing else.
Yan Xi understood that she was Yan Xi, not Chen Man Xi. When Gong Ding Chen was f*cking her on top of her body in Ru Meng Ling that day, he called her Xi Xi softly and gently beside her ear. Yan Xi clearly understood that the person that Gong Ding Chen referred to was Chen Man Xi, and not her “Little Chen Man Xi”.
Although she had no memories, based on her old diaries, her weibo side account and those messy, doubtful gossip and news she put together, Yan Xi could generally guess that, no matter if it was the movie, the video, or in Gong Ding Chen and the public eyes, Yan Xi had always been Chen Man Xi’s substitute.
What is Little Chen Man Xi? She didn’t care about it, who was willing to live under another person’s shadow forever?
To be trampled like dust, looking up at that beautiful and dazzling person above the clouds with a gray face covered in dirt?
As expected, Yan Xi didn’t get the same treatment as Chen Man Xi.
She was not in the launching ceremony or the opening ceremony. Luckily at that time, Yan Xi focused on reading the script without scrolling the internet. Ah Zhu Jie also hoped that she could use this chance, not to be successful, but at least she could still be in the public eye, so she didn’t tell her about the toxic comments and criticisms on the internet.
Moreover, the more attentive internet users didn’t see Chen Man Xi appearing in these two events. An informant exposed that <Qing Shi Ming Yue> suddenly changed its main lead before they started to shoot. The main lead was changed from the popular celebrity Chen Man Xi to the twenty-eight tier female artist, Yan Xi, a literal nobody who debuted with the nickname “Little Chen Man Xi” by using Chen Man Xi’s popularity.
After the news was out, no matter if it was true or false, it created massive waves on the internet.
The top ten searches in weibo were basically claimed by these two female leads.
#Qing Shi Ming Yue’s female lead changed#
#Little Chen Man Xi#
#Main female lead Chen Man Xi is changed out after rigging the rules#
Even the 4P video from before was bumped up to the top searches.
Yan Xi became trending again after she’d been ridiculed by the entire internet in the past, although she was similarly being mocked. After the news was exposed, there were people spreading rumors, they said: “Goodness, a nobody like Yan Xi can snatch Man Man’s role? Have you lost your mind? So many celebrities are playing supporting roles for her, do you think she deserves it?” Enjoying the story? Read on at novelping.com.
Someone even said: “Don’t start the fake news. Who knows it’s just the keyboard warriors that were hired by that shameless Yan Xi to get her into the top searches. She’s such a flop and she dares to dream to become popular? Our Man Jie is still shooting a programme in Paris!”
Someone immediately backed it up: “Yeah, even the character posters had been released. Don’t start the fake news, probably Man Man Jie’s schedule clashed with the launching ceremony, so she had no time to attend.”
The internet was like that. True or false were a blur without any evidence. Even if there was evidence, there would still be twists and turns. Soon enough, when Yan Xi joined the crew to shoot, someone’s fan who visited the shoot posted the behind-the-scenes photo onto the internet. This finally proved the gossip that Chen Man Xi’s role was snatched by Yan Xi.
The behind-the-scenes photo was not clear and Yan Xi also resembled Chen Man Xi up sixty to seventy percent. At first, there were still fans of Chen Man Xi who were still stubborn and didn’t acknowledge it, but a few more proactive fans flew to the studio city directly which confirmed that the woman wearing the female lead clothes in the photo was Yan Xi.
Additionally, Chen Man Xi posted a side profile photo of herself with Eiffel Tower as the background. The caption was meaningful: “Why press on.”
The entire internet was bombed again.
Chen Man Xi had released her character poster of <Qing Shi Ming Yue> before, but right now, in all various photos that were released, the style and clothes that initially appeared on Chen Man Xi in her poster were now worn by Yan Xi. The fans were obviously mad, and immediately boycotted Yan Shi on the internet. In a short time, #Yan Xi snatched Chen Man Xi’s role#, #Yan Xi dark history#, #Yan Xi’s lewd photo#, and other topics were bumped up to the top searches.
The topic of wanting Yan Xi to get out of the entertainment circle was bumped to the first place in the top searches once again.
There were even aggressive fans that gathered together through the internet and went to the studio city to block the drama crew, asking them to be fair to Chen Man Xi, and remove Yan Xi from <Qing Shi Ming Yue>.
Hence, on that day, the outdoor shoot was forced to discontinue. It was initially a chasing scene in the bamboo forest, but now it was surrounded by a large group of fans. In the end, the studio city authorities had no choice but to ask the police and bodyguards to maintain order at the scene. The drama crew staff and even the extras were making fun at Yan Xi from one side, seeing her being beaten by fans directly, and being splashed by a bottle of mineral water on the face.
That day, the currently trending celebrity Qu Wan Wan was also shooting the same scene. When she saw this happening, Qu Wan Wan who was hidden behind her assistants and makeup artists laughed at the ordeal, she joked: “Luckily it’s not sulfuric acid that was splashed to her face.”
But listening to the way she spoke, she seemed to be hoping that it was sulfuric acid that was splashed to her face.
So on that day, Yan Xi was chased and chided by the fans and reporters. She had no choice but to go back to the hotel miserably with a cap covering her face. The other actors continued to shoot the scenes without Yan Xi. But Yan Xi was the female lead, they couldn’t continue to push back her scenes infinitely. The director also had a headache, this wasn’t right, wasn’t the female lead supposed to be Chen Man Xi in the beginning? What happened? Why did it change into Yan Xi afterwards?
If Chen Man Xi was the one who came to shoot, it would be better. She had the popularity and fame, her fans were many and enthusiastic. It definitely wouldn’t end up like this, making such a big commotion until the whole drama crew couldn’t have peace.
So Yan Xi remained in the hotel room without coming out for three to four days, until the director assistant informed her that she could go to the studio city to shoot night scenes now.
The studio city had tourists in the day, but after 6pm they began to clear them out, so there were only the drama crew and staff in the studio city at night. Outsiders wouldn’t be able to come in. The director assistant hoped that Yan Xi had memorized the dialogues she needed for tonight before he went off hurriedly. It was understandable that he didn’t want to have so much contact with such a person, the disgust in his eyes was also visible.
“Tonight’s scene…” Yan Xi looked at the script and became silent.
This night’s scene was about the female lead Shen Shu Yin who was accused when trying to help someone else seek justice. She was dispatched by the imperial concubine to do labor at the laundry department. In the washing room, she finished washing a small pile of dirty clothes that had been accumulated for a day, getting hungry and wet. She didn’t even get to eat a mouthful of dinner yet when the nanny deliberately made things difficult and asked her to send the clothes to Qing Liang Hall that was very far away. This chapter was copied from novelping dot com without permission.
When Shen Shu Yin returned, the sky had turned dark.
Shen Shu Yin was in a state of disarray as she walked down the long passage in the palace in loneliness. She then came across the carriage that was carrying Imperial Concubine Yun. Shen Shu Yin dutifully retreated to the wall, knelt down and kowtow, but even when she did this, Imperial Concubine Yun wouldn’t let her off once she saw her. Just like what she told Shen Shu Yin before, Imperial Concubine Yun said: “I just hate to see this face of yours!”
After that, it was the highlight of this scene. Imperial Concubine Yun hated Shen Shu Yin. She was a noble while Shen Shu Yin was just a lowly servant in the laundry department, so she intended to make things difficult and humiliate her. She nitpicked her then let the senior maid beside her to give Shen Shu Yin a lesson, saying to teach her manners.
Before she arrived at the shooting location, Yan Xi already had an intuition.
When they began shooting, her gut feeling came true.
The actress that played Imperial Concubine Yun, Zhu Ting Yu was not considered a first or second tier, but because of her delicate face and traditional charisma, she was always active in various traditional beauties pageants. She started becoming famous at a young age, the internet users had a very good impression of her and also liked her face. As for the actress that played the senior maid, Liu Su, beside Imperial Concubine Yun, she was also quite popular recently with some controversies, a newly emerging small celebrity Li Miao Dan.
The highlight was about Liu Su slapping Shen Shu Yin following Imperial Concubine Yun’s order.
Normally when the dramas shot this kind of scenes, they would use camera angles or just slap her lightly, then add in the sound post-production. It was rare to see the actress being slapped for real to see a better effect. But when they began shooting, just as Yan Xi predicted, Li Miao Dan who played Liu Su firmly slapped her on her left face after saying her dialogue normally.
“Pa!” The sound was crisp and loud.
The director behind the camera, staff and the extras who played maids and eunuchs were all shocked by this firm slap. The Imperial Concubine Zhu Ting Yu seemed to have expected it and stood at one side while hugging her arms. Seeing Yan Xi being dazed on the spot, she asked sarcastically instead: “Why, you forgot your dialogue?”
The director had also been in the entertainment circle for many years, so how could he not know these actors’ thoughts? He picked up the speaker and shouted: “Cut!”
“What’s going on?” He walked forward to ask. As for what happened, he knew it perfectly, but he only wanted to help alleviate the situation. He wanted Li Miao Dan to not make it difficult for Yan Xi anymore and finish shooting this scene to save up everyone’s time. But Li Miao Dan was popular, the director obviously needed to know his limits so he turned towards Yan Xi: “You forgot your dialogue?”
Yan Xi shook her head, saying no. She didn’t mention that Li Miao Dan was playing it seriously and slapped her on the face.
“Then let’s hurry up with the shoot, after that we finish up and go back to rest. Later there’s still another big night shoot!” The director returned to his director chair as he said that. Li Miao Dan gave Yan Xi an eye-roll, and grasped her wrist like she was the one in pain.
Zhu Ting Yu also said coldly: “Memorize your dialogue and don’t waste everyone’s time. If you really don’t remember, just open your mouth and say 1 2 3 4 5 6 7. The post-production can still find a voice actress to dub it, right?”
There was another meaning behind Zhu Ting Yu’s words. The makeup artist went up to fix Yan Xi’s makeup after hearing the director’s order. After that, they went back to their original spots under the director’s arrangement, then began shooting all over again.
