With such substantial assets, the family’s current mission was to continue spending money to stockpile supplies.

On top of their previous purchases, they placed additional orders for 100,000 units of each item and rented ten more warehouses in their existing storage complex to accommodate the growing stockpile.

Lin Ran also placed an order for two large ships, requesting delivery within a month.Full novel: Stockpiling Billions: The Zombie King is Actually My Little Puppy — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Soon, residents of Mid-Levels Cloud Villa began noticing they had exceptionally wealthy new neighbors.

This family drove different luxury vehicles every day—top-tier supercars and heavily modified off-road vehicles—leaving everyone wondering about their origins.

Lin Ran’s conspicuous lifestyle at Mid-Levels Cloud Villa attracted considerable attention, including that of Jiang Chen.

After several days of investigation, he finally learned the girl’s name: Lin Ran.

Lin Ran—a lovely name indeed.

But when he tracked down her address, he discovered she had already sold the property and moved away.

Checking her university next, he found she hadn’t attended classes for quite some time.

When he eventually located her new address, he was astonished to find she had become his next-door neighbor.

So she lived at Mid-Levels Cloud Villa too—she was the one who had just moved in next door a few days ago.

Overjoyed, Jiang Chen visited her home with carefully selected gifts, hoping to formally introduce himself as a new neighbor, but no one answered the door.

Standing before Lin Ran’s empty doorway, his handsome eyes filled with disappointment.

Shortly after Jiang Chen left, Lu Yu followed the trail and arrived as well.

He was now certain the siblings Jiang Chen had been watching were the ones—what were the odds they’d become Jiang Chen’s neighbors?

His investigations showed this family was only moderately wealthy—how could they afford such an upscale residence? The reason must be Jiang Chen’s assistance.

Who would have thought Jiang Chen was such a devoted romantic, willing to spend so much on his beloved? Staring at the Lin family villa beside Jiang Chen’s, Lu Yu conceived a brilliant scheme.

Unfortunately, no one managed to get through the Lin family’s door that day.

Lin Ran had already driven with her family back to their hometown.

With supplies nearly fully stocked, it was time to return home and construct their Doomsday Fortress.

Their hometown was located in the Dragon Spine Mountain Range, not far from Cloud Metropolis. After an hour and a half navigating winding mountain roads in their off-road vehicle, they arrived.

The hometown felt much more desolate than Lin Ran remembered. Most young people had left for work opportunities, leaving only elderly residents behind. Everyone warmly greeted Lin Ba upon his return.

“Nephew, what brings you back? It’s not even the holiday season.”

Lin Ba smiled. “Uncle Wang, our Da Niu just graduated from university and wants to start a business here. She plans to revive my father’s old farm. It’s good that she has ambitions, so as parents, we’re here to support her.”

“Ah, so she’s returning to start a business! That’s a wonderful idea. Old Lin managed that farm very well back in the day—such a shame it’s been left unused.”

“Exactly. So when Da Niu proposed this, the whole family decided to support her.”

“That’s great! Let me know if you need any help.”

After thanking everyone, Lin Ba led his family to the farm.

The farm covered a vast area, enclosed by wire fences, featuring extensive orchards, vegetable greenhouses, beekeeping sheds, and spaces for raising chickens, ducks, and geese.

However, now only a few fruits remained on the trees in the orchards; everything else had fallen into neglect.

At the center of the farm stood a large courtyard with five spacious houses—this was Lin Ran’s grandfather’s home.

Lin Ba opened the courtyard gate to inspect the premises and said to Lin Ran and the others, “Aside from the dust inside, everything is in good condition. Let’s stay here for a while.”

“Alright.”

Lin Ze loved this courtyard dearly—it held fond childhood memories for him.

Lin Ran also appreciated the layout and felt that returning was an excellent decision. Soon after, the construction team they had hired in advance arrived.

“You’re really building such a large house here? A twelve-story villa?”

“Yes, exactly twelve stories, with each floor reaching the maximum height of four meters. We plan to develop this into a distinctive Agritainment in the future, so just proceed with the construction.”

Hearing this, the construction team boss said nothing more. So the owners were developing an Agritainment—no wonder they were investing so heavily and hiring a large-scale team like theirs, which usually took on major real estate projects.

If not for the generous payment, they wouldn’t have accepted such a small job, though it now appeared far from insignificant.

In addition to the twelve above-ground floors, Lin Ran also planned three basement levels underground. To combat extreme heat, a deep pit needed to be excavated beneath the house.

The twelve-story structure was also a precaution—in case the flood-related information from his past-life memories turned out to be inaccurate, they would still have a refuge.

This construction team had an excellent reputation in the industry, known for high efficiency and quality workmanship.

Once Lin Ran finalized the requirements, the team brought in ten excavators to dig a ten-meter-deep pit, constructing a spacious three-level basement and drilling two wells in the process.

Throughout the construction, only the finest materials were used as requested by Lin Ran.

Both waterproofing and insulation employed the most advanced materials available.

Under the pretext of potentially opening a KTV in the future, they also installed thick soundproofing panels on all exterior walls.

To create a purely eco-friendly Agritainment, solar panels were installed throughout the property.

The walls were built with the strongest, thickest steel reinforcement, twice as thick as standard walls, and the windows were bulletproof-grade Blackout Windows.

The compound featured both inner and outer perimeter walls, each six meters high, topped with Electric Fences. All doors were blast-proof, made from the same materials as bank vault doors.

Besides the main building, Lin Ran also had the workers construct several greenhouses.

These might not be needed initially but would prove useful later on.

Additionally, the fishpond and poultry sheds were completely renovated.

The orchard was revitalized, with tall fruit trees brought in from various sources.

By the time construction officially began, only a little over two months remained before the apocalypse. The team was given a strict two-month deadline to complete the project.

However, the scale of this project was truly substantial, so Lin Ba hired Cloud Metropolis’s largest construction team. Still feeling uneasy, he later brought in two additional construction teams to assist with the work.

With such a top-tier setup, the main structure of the entire farm was finally completed one month later.
