Grandma Susan’s warning

Grandma Susan’s warning Theodore’s POV
It’s been two weeks since Ivy escaped the mental hospital and Kingsley has found nothing.
I can think about nothing else.
The guilt of committing her to that place weighs heavily on me.
“I don’t believe that Ivy shifted. We know she’s just a pathetic human, nothing more,” Jonathan says.
“I think someone helped her. People are saying she ran off with one of the male nurses. A loose whore, as I’ve always suspected.”
I glare at him.
I’m so tired of him always being around.
“Don’t you have a home of your own where you can be?”
“Tiffany wants me here and she’s my sister,” Jonathan says.
“It’s a package deal —you want Tiffany you get me too. It’s a two-for-one!”
Tiffany laughs with him.
I look away in disgust.
“Jonathan, I heard that too,” Tiffany says.
“If she could shift, why hadn’t it happened when she turned eighteen like all of us?
It makes no sense.
Why would she hide that she’s a wolf?”
“She’s a pathological liar, that’s why!
You know that Tiff,” Jonathan says.
“True.”
I can’t listen to this nonsense.
I leave without a word.
I know they’re not the only ones talking like this.
The pack is full of rumours.
They all think Ivy has ran away from me with someone, leaving me.
I’ve been silent but I’ll soon lose my temper over all of it.
The one upside of all of this is that Ivy’s wolf finally emerged.
I feel guilty that it came as it did.
But wherever she is, she is far less vulnerable with her wolf inside of her.
That alone gives me comfort.
Just as I’m heading to my study, I hear a knock at the front door.
I open to find Grandma Susan.
“It’s good to see you, Grandma Susan. What a surprise! Come in!”
The butler takes her things up to one of the guest suites and I lead her out to the sun room.
I don’t want her around Tiffany and Jonathan.
I order tea for us and we sit in the morning sun.
“I’m surprised you came. You never leave your house,” I say.
“What could I do? Things are bad. I knew you needed me. You need guidance.” It’s clear she’s upset.
“We’re looking for Ivy.
I’ve hired a private detective.
I’m certain we’ll have good news soon.”
“Don’t be so certain.
I’ve been waiting at home, knowing that if Ivy could, she would contact me.
She hasn’t.
There is only silence and I’m desperately worried.”
Tiffany and Jonathan come to the sun room.
“Babe, I just came to tell you we’re going shopping,” Tiffany says.
As if these two do anything else.
Tiffany notices Grandma Susan.
“Oh Grandma Susan!” She goes to Grandma Susan to shake her hand.
“I’m so honoured that you’re visiting our home.”
Grandma Susan shakes her hand but says nothing.
Jonathan greets Grandma Susan and asks after her health.
“I’m well thank you. I’m surprised you’re not out looking for your sister Ivy,” she says.
“The Alpha is on it. I trust him,” Jonathan says.
“Hmmm…,” Grandma Susan says.
“We’re on our way to the mall,” Tiffany says. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
“Can I buy anything for you two?”
“No,” Grandma Susan says.
Tiffany comes to me and attempts to kiss me on my lips, but I turn my face and she kisses my cheek.
I can feel Grandma Susan’s eyes on me.
They leave and I feel Grandma Susan staring at me.
She is not happy.
“What are you doing with that woman?” she asks.
“Nothing.
I mean, she’s the Luna now.
I do what I must.”
“Must?
Are you not the Alpha?
You decide what the law is and only you!
You cannot let anyone else manipulate you.
It seems that you don’t understand that.
You must be the leader of the pack!”
I respect Grandma Susan but she’s angering me too.
“I am the Alpha.
I made these decisions, no one else.”
“So you say.”
“Should there be no Luna for the pack?
I needed to do something and if it wasn’t for you, Tiffany would have been the Luna in any case.
Many in the pack believe the rightful Luna is now in place.”
“What do you think?” she asks.
“Honestly I don’t know.
Is she not the heiress?
That’s been proved.”
“Tiffany is not a Luna.
Look at her.
It is evident.
She has scratched and fought for a place she does not deserve.”
“Why have you always been against her?
What if you’re wrong?
What if you’re wrong about Ivy?”
“I’m not.
I’ll let you say what you’re saying because I know it grows from the guilt you feel.
It’s all defensive words, to keep you from feeling the guilt about how you have treated Ivy.”
The butler brings a tray of cake and a pot of tea.
I know Grandma Susan has a sweet tooth so I quickly pour the tea and slice her some cake in the hope it will calm her a bit.
“Here, have some. It’s carrot cake. I know it’s one of your favourites.” I set it in front of her.
She ignores the cake and tea.
“How do you sleep with that woman when Ivy carries your pups?”
What is this woman saying now?
“She does not! Why do you say that? I’m not sure she was even pregnant and if she was, Nicole says the babies died in the crash.”
Grandma Susan has the ability some wise old wolves have: mind links and premonition.
She can read minds and knows things about the future that others do not.
I can’t doubt what she says.
Could Ivy really still be pregnant somewhere with my children?
I never marked her and I was careful when we had sex.
I knew we were not ready for children.
With all of the drama I’d been taking precautions, always wearing protection.
I knew until things settled, Ivy should not get pregnant.
But there was one night…
I came home from the poker game; I drank too much.
Ivy was in bed already, sleeping naked the way she preferred.
She lay in the moonlight looking so sexy I ached with want.
I stood and watched her and let my lust and love flood over me.
Soon I could not stop myself.
I went to her.
I kissed her and she woke up, immediately ready for me.
I could smell the scent of her heat.
She had been waiting my return. Find the original chapter at g.com.
“Come to me. I need you with me,” she said.
I groaned into her as my wolf emerged.
She pulled me close, her breasts hard against me, her wetness below.
She pulled me inside of her, shifting her hips to bring me to orgasm.
We lay knotted together, her lock holding me tightly, a complete turn-on.
I wished it would never end.
I thought that I might be seeding her, fertilising the eggs in her womb.
I was happy if I was.
It felt destined in some way.
Had I been happy at that moment?
Why?
In all of the chaos — did I truly love Ivy?
I care about her for sure, since she was a little girl.
I always felt protective of her like an older brother.
I knew we were to marry one day and I liked the idea of it.
But love?
After all of this?
After all of the lies?
I wonder now if I had impregnated her that night.
Pups made during that night of exquisite passion.
“Why do you say this to me?
Nicole told Ivy the pups were dead.
She wouldn’t have said that if it wasn’t true.
She loves Ivy and wouldn’t want to hurt her.”
“Nicole is wrong.
She made a mistake,” Grandma Susan says.
“You know this. You smelled the pup scent on Ivy when you locked her up in that evil place.”
She’s right, I did.
I didn’t trust it though.
I trust nothing.
Now I see how wrong I’ve been.
“Grandma Susan, I’m sorry for what I’ve done to Ivy.
I know you love her.
I’ll do everything I can to find her and bring her back.
I promise.”
“You best do that and fast.
She’s your fated Luna and she carries your heirs.
Your life will mean nothing until you find her, apologise for all that you have done to her, and bring her home.
The bigger question is —even if you find her, will she ever forgive you for how you’ve treated her?”

I follow Kingsley as we push through the forest around the mental hospital.
He’s covered the tracks many times but I want to see for myself.
We need to find Ivy, it’s more important than ever.
“She ran this way. From the tracks she was running at phenomenal speed,” Kinsley says.
I look at the tracks.
They’re wolf.
“At this speed, she made it to the other side of this forest in about two hours.
This forest is 200 miles wide.”
“And then what happened?”
“We’ve seen car tracks.
She might have got a lift or…she might have been abducted.”
“And that’s it?
That’s all you have?”
“For now, Boss.
But don’t lose hope.
We’ll find her.
I promise you,” Kingsley says confidentially.
Kingsley and his team will search for Ivy for years and never find her despite his promises.
